Cu‐based metal–organic frameworks have attracted much attention for electrocatalytic CO2 reduction, but they are generally instable and difficult to control the product selectivity. We report ...flexible Cu(I) triazolate frameworks as efficient, stable, and tunable electrocatalysts for CO2 reduction to C2H4/CH4. By changing the size of ligand side groups, the C2H4/CH4 selectivity ratio can be gradually tuned and inversed from 11.8 : 1 to 1 : 2.6, giving C2H4, CH4, and hydrocarbon selectivities up to 51 %, 56 %, and 77 %, respectively. After long‐term electrocatalysis, they can retain the structures/morphologies without formation of Cu‐based inorganic species. Computational simulations showed that the coordination geometry of Cu(I) changed from triangular to tetrahedral to bind the reaction intermediates, and two adjacent Cu(I) cooperated for C−C coupling to form C2H4. Importantly, the ligand side groups controlled the catalyst flexibility by the steric hindrance mechanism, and the C2H4 pathway is more sensitive than the CH4 one.
Flexible Cu(I) triazolate frameworks functionalized with dinuclear copper sites can serve as highly stable and efficient electrocatalysts for CO2 reduction to C2H4/CH4, and the selectivity is tunable by the size of uncoordinated ligand side groups.
Neurogenic tumors are the most frequent neoplasms of the lower posterior mediastinum. In adults, theyare usually discovered in an asymptomatic patient. The tumors are mostly benign but can also be ...malignant. Therefore, once detected, resection is always advised. Traditionally, lower posterior mediastinal tumors are excised by convemional scopically. Laparoscopic thoracotomy or thoraco- evolution of the late 20th century has changed the scenario of postoperative recovery and cosmetic outcome in most of the surgical procedures. We attempted and excised a lower posterior mediastinal tumor using the retroperitoneoscopic approach.
AIM: To assess the effects of H2-receptor blocking pharmacon, protease inhibitor, and gastro kinetic agents on the human Sphincter of Oddi (SO) motility by choledochoscope manometry. METHODS: One ...hundred and seventy-five patients with T tube installed after cholecystectomy and choledochotomy were assessed by choledochoscope manometry. They were randomly assigned into groups of H2-receptor blocking pharmacon, protease inhibitor, and gastro kinetic agents. The Sphincter of Oddi basal pressure (SOBP), amplitude (SOCA), frequency of contractions (SOF), duodenal pressure (DP), and common bile duct pressure (CBDP) were scored and analyzed. RESULTS: SOBP and SOCA were significantly decreased after Cimetidine administration, and no statistical difference was seen in the Famotidine group. In the Gabexate mesilate group, SOBP had decreased significantly. In the Ulinastatin group, SOCA decreased when Ulinastatin was given at the rate of 2500 U/min; when Ulinastatin administration was raised to 5000 U/ rain, SOBP, SOF and SOCA all experienced a fall. SOBP and SOCA for Domperidone and SOCA for Mosapride groups all decreased distinctly after administration. CONCLUSION: The regular dosage of Cimetidine showed an inhibitory effect on the motility of SO, while Famotidine had no obvious effects otherwise. Gabnexata mesilate, Ulinastatin and gastro kinetic agents also showed inhibitory effects on the SO motility.
Abstract
In this paper, we report 591 high-velocity star candidates (HiVelSCs) selected from over 10 million spectra of Data Release 7 (DR7) of the Large Sky Area Multi-object Fiber Spectroscopic ...Telescope and the second Gaia data release, with three-dimensional velocities in the Galactic rest frame larger than 445 km s
−1
. We show that at least 43 HiVelSCs are unbound to the Galaxy with escape probabilities larger than 50%, and this number decreases to eight if the possible parallax zero-point error is corrected. Most of these HiVelSCs are metal-poor and slightly
α
-enhanced inner halo stars. Only 14% of them have Fe/H > −1, which may be the metal-rich “in situ” stars in the halo formed in the initial collapse of the Milky Way or metal-rich stars formed in the disk or bulge but kinematically heated. The low ratio of 14% implies that the bulk of the stellar halo was formed from the accretion and tidal disruption of satellite galaxies. In addition, HiVelSCs on retrograde orbits have slightly lower metallicities on average compared with those on prograde orbits; meanwhile, metal-poor HiVelSCs with Fe/H < −1 have an even faster mean retrograde velocity compared with metal-rich HiVelSCs. To investigate the origins of HiVelSCs, we perform orbit integrations and divide them into four types, i.e., hypervelocity stars, hyper-runaway stars, runaway stars and fast halo stars. A catalog for these 591 HiVelSCs, including radial velocities, atmospheric parameters, Gaia astrometric parameters, spatial positions, and velocities, etc., is available in the China-VO PaperData Repository at doi:

Methyl protodioscin (MPD) is a steroid saponin which has been well known for its pharmacological properties. Herein, we evaluated the anti-cancer activity of MPD for proliferation inhibition and ...apoptosis induction in Hela cells. MPD was purified from the rhizoma of Polygonatum sibiricum primarily and identified by HPLC, UPLC-TOF-MS/MS and NMR analysis, respectively. Results showed that MPD repressed cell proliferation at IC50 of 18.49 μM, altered cell morphology, arrested the cell cycle in G2/M phase, facilitated the generation of intracellular ROS and led to cell apoptosis in a concentration-dependent manner. Furthermore, MPD treatment promoted death receptor pathway and mitochondrial pathway efficiently. The inhibition of Caspase-8 and Caspase-9 proteins in these pathways abolished the apoptosis significantly, further demonstrated the mechanism of MPD-induced apoptosis. These findings offer novel information that MPD may be considered as a possible natural anti-cancerous agent in the form of functional foods or medicinal products.

We investigated the anti-cancer activity of Licochalcone A (LCA), extracted from licorice root. LCA inhibited the proliferation of HepG2 cells with IC50 (65.96 μM) for 24 h and IC50 (44.13 μM) for ...48 h and caused significant morphological changes and also led to intracellular ROS generation. LCA affected HepG2 cell growth by terminating cell cycle development at G2/M transition and further induced the apoptosis process. The mRNA expression of genes involved in cell cycles such as Survivin, Cyclin B1, and CDK1 were reduced; while, Weel, P21, Cyclin D1, and JNK1 showed increased mRNA expression. Two pathways consisting of internal and external factors were responsible for LCA -induced apoptosis. The anti-cancer action involved increased mRNA expression of DR3, DR5, caspases-3, caspases-8, caspases-10, Fas, Bad, Bax, Bcl-2, Bak, and PUMA; besides, decreased level of PKCε, p70S6K, and Akt. This study provides mechanistic explanation for anti-cancer activity of LCA and also suggests its potential role in the treatment of hepatoma cancer.

The recently proposed digital coding metasurfaces make it possible to control electromagnetic (EM) waves in real time, and allow the implementation of many different functionalities in a programmable ...way. However, current configurations are only space-encoded, and do not exploit the temporal dimension. Here, we propose a general theory of space-time modulated digital coding metasurfaces to obtain simultaneous manipulations of EM waves in both space and frequency domains, i.e., to control the propagation direction and harmonic power distribution simultaneously. As proof-of-principle application examples, we consider harmonic beam steering, beam shaping, and scattering-signature control. For validation, we realize a prototype controlled by a field-programmable gate array, which implements the harmonic beam steering via an optimized space-time coding sequence. Numerical and experimental results, in good agreement, demonstrate good performance of the proposed approach, with potential applications to diverse fields such as wireless communications, cognitive radars, adaptive beamforming, holographic imaging.
Three kinds of plant growth regulators, gibberellinA 4/7 (GA 4/7 ), 6-benzylaminopurine (BA), and chlormequat chloride (CCC), were evaluated for their ability to promote strobilus and cone production ...in a Chinese pine (Pinus tabuliformis Carr.) clonal seed orchard. Treatments (0, 250, 500, or 1000 mg L -1 ) were applied during three periods (June- July, July-August and August-September) in 2005. Of the three plant growth regulators, GA 4/7 was the best for promoting flower and cone production. Trees sprayed with GA 4/7 (500 mg L -1 ) from June to September had significantly more female strobili and immature cones than controls and other treatments (p≤0.0001). The best time to apply GA 4/7 was in June. BA at 500 mg L -1 significantly increased female flower and immature cone production, compared to other treatments and controls (p≤0.0001), while promotion of male strobili was unchanged. Chlormequat chloride at 1000 mg L -1 significantly increased the number of male strobili, compared to the other treatments (p≤0.0001). Spraying CCC at500 mg L -1 significantly increased the number of female strobili, compared to controls (p0.05), but it had no effect on immature cone production (p0.05). These results are important for improving seed production and seed orchard management of Chinese pine.
