As Android-based mobile devices become increasingly popular, malware detection on Android is very crucial nowadays. In this paper, a novel detection method based on deep learning is proposed to ...distinguish malware from trusted applications. Considering there is some semantic information in system call sequences as the natural language, we treat one system call sequence as a sentence in the language and construct a classifier based on the Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) language model. In the classifier, at first two LSTM models are trained respectively by the system call sequences from malware and those from benign applications. Then according to these models, two similarity scores are computed. Finally, the classifier determines whether the application under analysis is malicious or trusted by the greater score. Thorough experiments show that our approach can achieve high efficiency and reach high recall of 96.6% with low false positive rate of 9.3%, which is better than the other methods.
The human 8q24 gene desert contains multiple enhancers that form tissue-specific long-range chromatin loops with the MYC oncogene, but how chromatin looping at the MYC locus is regulated remains ...poorly understood. Here we demonstrate that a long noncoding RNA (lncRNA), CCAT1-L, is transcribed specifically in human colorectal cancers from a locus 515 kb upstream of MYC. This lncRNA plays a role in MYC transcriptional regulation and promotes long-range chromatin looping. Importantly, the CCAT1-L locus is located within a strong super-enhancer and is spatially close to MYC. Knockdown of CCAT1-L reduced long-range interactions between the MYC promoter and its enhancers. In addition, CCAT1-L interacts with CTCF and modulates chromatin conformation at these loop regions. These results reveal an important role of a previously unannotated lncRNA in gene regulation at the MYC locus.
The human body is thoroughly colonized by a wide variety of microorganisms, termed microbiota. Pancreatic cancer, one of the most aggressive forms of cancer, is no exception. The microbiota of ...pancreatic cancer largely influences and even dominates the occurrence, development and outcome of pancreatic cancer in many ways. Studies have shown that microbiota could change the malignant phenotype and prognosis of pancreatic cancer by stimulating persistent inflammation, regulating the antitumor immune system, changing the tumor microenvironment and affecting cellular metabolism. This is why the association of the microbiota with pancreatic cancer is an emerging area of research that warrants further exploration. Herein, we investigated the potential microbial markers of pancreatic cancer, related research models, the mechanism of action of microbiota in pancreatic cancer, and pancreatic cancer-microbiota-related treatment.

Several oilseed and vegetable crops of Brassica are biennials that require a prolonged winter cold for flowering, a process called vernalization. FLOWERING LOCUS C (FLC) is a central ...repressor of flowering. Here, we report that the overexpression of natural antisense transcripts (NATs) of Brassica rapa FLC (BrFLC) greatly shortens plant growth cycles. In rapid‐, medium‐ and slow‐cycling crop types, there are four copies of the BrFLC genes, which show extensive variation in sequences and expression levels. In Bre, a biennial crop type that requires vernalization, five NATs derived from the BrFLC2 locus are rapidly induced under cold conditions, while all four BrFLC genes are gradually down‐regulated. The transgenic Bre lines overexpressing a long NAT of BrFLC2 do not require vernalization, resulting in a gradient of shortened growth cycles. Among them, a subset of lines both flower and set seeds as early as Yellow sarson, an annual crop type in which all four BrFLC genes have non‐sense mutations and are nonfunctional in flowering repression. Our results demonstrate that the growth cycles of biennial crops of Brassica can be altered by changing the expression levels of BrFLC2 NATs. Thus, BrFLC2 NATs and their transgenic lines are useful for the genetic manipulation of crop growth cycles.

The contact type between graphene and semiconducting two-dimensional materials is a crucial factor in determining the performance of nanoscale electronic devices based on two-dimensional materials. Recently, SiCP4 is proposed to have high charge mobility plus high stability. In this work, we study the contact type between graphene and SiCP4. The Schottky barrier is formed between graphene and SiCP4. By changing the interlayer distance, the Schottky barrier can be tuned in a wide range. The charge transfer at the interface induces a reverse shift between the bands of graphene and SiCP4. The amount of charge transfer can be used to explain the change in the Schottky barrier. Furthermore, the Schottky barrier can be controlled by applying a vertical electric field. The tunable Schottky barrier provides a guide for the design of the nanodevice based on graphene and SiCP4.
The effect of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) on the phase structure and foaming performance of PS/LLDPE blends during batch foaming of sc-CO2 was studied. It was found that the phase structure of ...PS/LLDPE = 50/50 blends with CNTs could be transformed from bi-continuous to sea-island morphology, when a sufficient quantity of CNTs nanofillers was added. As a result, the foaming ability of PS/LLDPE = 50/50 blends was improved effectively. Meanwhile, the critical value of CNTs for significantly improving the foaming ability of blends decreased slightly with the increase of foaming temperature. In contrast, for the PS/LLDPE blends with sea-island phase structure (such as 20/80), the addition of CNTs did not significantly change the morphology and foaming capacity of the blends. Very interestingly, the foam with semi-open cellular structure (meaning that there were small pores within the large cell wall) was obtained in the foamed PS/LLDPE blends after tetrahydrofuran (THF) etching PS phase. Benefiting from the interfacial channel effect formed by the presence of CNTs, the etching speed and efficiency of PS were significantly improved, and the size for the small pore on the cell wall could be adjusted by the content of PS dispersed phase in the PS/LLDPE/CNTs nanocomposites.

Carbon dots (CDs), a subject of academic research, have attracted intense attention due to their intrinsic merits of high stability, low cost, and low toxicity. However, the absence of highly ...efficient red-emitting CDs restricts their application in a variety of areas including lasers. In this work, red emissive CDs (R-CDs) with a quantum yield as high as 66.7% were prepared using 1,3-dihydroxynaphthalene as the initial source. It is found that the superior optical properties of R-CDs are attributed to the high oxidation degree and high ratio of hydroxyl functional groups on the surface of CDs. Red emissive random lasing at 612 nm was realized from a microcavity by using the R-CDs/epoxy composite as the gain medium at room temperature. Simultaneously, the transformation of random lasing to Fabry-Perot lasing in the same laser cavity at 250 °C was observed. This is on account of the declining optical gain which is insufficient to support random lasing in the microcavity at high temperatures. As a result, CD based Fabry-Perot lasing was achieved at a temperature as high as 250 °C for the first time.

Substitution of cement clinker with steel slag (SS) is an effective approach for solving the problems of environmental contamination and resource consumption caused by cement manufacturing. This ...study aimed to improve the mechanical properties of cement–SS mortar by incorporating water glass (WG) to promote the optimal utilization of SS waste. In this study, the setting time, mechanical strength, and microstructure of cement–SS systems were investigated. From the experimental results, it was found that the incorporation of WG effectively shortened their setting times and enhanced their mechanical strengths, particularly early strengths. The enhancement in these properties was mainly due to the acceleration effect of WG on the cement–SS system hydration process by expediting the dissolution of the tetrahedron SiO4 and AlO4 units in SS to produce H3SiO4− and H3AlO42−. This facilitated the formation of more stable zeolite-like hydration products. Furthermore, the soluble Si4+ supplied by WG reacted with Ca (OH)2 to form a calcium silicate hydrate (C–S–H) gel. Both the high hydration degree of SS at early ages and C–S–H gel formation appeared to be the primary mechanisms for the strength improvement of the cement–SS systems by WG addition.
Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is one of the most common cancers worldwide, and chemotherapy is one of its main treatment methods. However, there are significant differences in patients’ ...reactions to chemotherapy, leading to unsatisfactory treatment outcomes. Therefore, identifying relevant factors that affect the efficacy of chemotherapy can help doctors better develop personalized treatment plans, improve the treatment effectiveness, and quality of life of patients. This article aims to understand the specific clinical role of CYP1B1 gene in NSCLC. Therefore, based on the individualized health model of CYP1B1 gene polymorphism, this article analyzes the prediction of postoperative chemotherapy efficacy for NSCLC. Through a study on the control variables of postoperative recovery of stage III NSCLC in a hospital, according to the findings of this study, 14 of the 32 patients in the EGFR mutation-positive group relapsed. In the EGFR-negative group, 13 of the 36 patients relapsed. It can be considered that CYP1B1 gene polymorphism has a good curative effect in postoperative chemotherapy of NSCLC, and it can effectively control the recurrence rate of cancer.
Lung cancer is the cancer with the highest mortality rate and the highest incidence in the world at this stage. Among them, non-small lung cancer is the most common type of lung cancer, and most ...small cancers have disappeared, which is the optimal time for surgery at the time of diagnosis. To explore and systematically evaluate the clinical efficacy of CYP1B1 gene polymorphism in the treatment of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) Mutant non-small cell lung cancer, this article proposes the principles of lung cancer screening based on CYP1B1 gene polymorphism and polarization imaging and explores the diagnosis and treatment of non-EGFR mutant lung cancer. Based on a large number of medical image data, imageomics can directly reflect the correlation between tumor molecular phenotype and image characteristics by deeply mining some imaging features of the image, which has important value in the early diagnosis of disease, the formulation of personalized treatment plan, and efficacy evaluation and prognosis prediction. A total of 141 NSCLC patients with sensitive EGFR mutation were included in this study, including 101 patients with EGFR single-gene mutation and 40 patients with EGFR multigene mutation coexisting mutation. Both groups of patients were female, aged ≥60 years, no smoking history, no family history of leukemia, adenocarcinoma, lung cancer, stage IV, lymph node metastasis, living, far from metastasis, and ECOG score of 0–2. This study examined the relative number of gene expression and PFS in EGFR multigene co-existing mutations. When the number of mixed genes is 1, 2, and higher, the PFS is 9 months, 8 months, and 6 months, respectively. The PFS time of this group of patients gradually shortened. Therefore, this study examined the benefit of polygenic mutation in estimation by comparing the clinical characteristics of patients with EGFR single-gene mutation and polygenic mutation, to provide measurement of EGFR-TKI and to provide suggestions for future drug selection.
