Mobile and wearable devices have enabled numerous applications, including activity tracking, wellness monitoring, and human-computer interaction, that measure and improve our daily lives. Many of ...these applications are made possible by leveraging the rich collection of low-power sensors found in many mobile and wearable devices to perform human activity recognition (HAR). Recently, deep learning has greatly pushed the boundaries of HAR on mobile and wearable devices. This paper systematically categorizes and summarizes existing work that introduces deep learning methods for wearables-based HAR and provides a comprehensive analysis of the current advancements, developing trends, and major challenges. We also present cutting-edge frontiers and future directions for deep learning-based HAR.
Simultaneous removal of multi-pollutants from coal-fired power plants has drawn worldwide attention in recent years. Non-thermal plasma (NTP) flue gas cleaning technologies show good performance on ...SO2, NOX, and Hg0 removal and extensive studies have been carried out. This paper reviews the research progress of pollutants removal from coal-fired flue gas using non-thermal plasma. The pollutants removal mechanisms of NTP are briefly described at first. The structure features and parameter characteristics of various NTP reactors are also summarized in this paper. The experimental results of different NTP technologies such as electron beam (EB) irradiation, corona discharge, dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) are reviewed systematically and the effects of flue gas components (O2, H2O, HCl, NH3, SO2, NO, Hg0, etc) and oxidation approach on the removal of SO2, NOX, and Hg0 are discussed comprehensively and systematically. Moreover, the NTP-chemical absorption/catalyst hybrid systems for pollutants removal are involved in this paper as well. The pilot/large-scale demonstration projects of NTP technologies around the world are also summarized in this paper and the development of NTP flue gas cleaning technologies in the future are discussed as well.
Due to aging of the world's population, stroke has become increasingly prevalent, leading to a rise in socioeconomic burden. In the recent past, stroke research and treatment have become key ...scientific issues that need urgent solutions, with a sharp focus on stem cell transplantation, which is known to treat neurodegenerative diseases related to traumatic brain injuries, such as stroke. Indeed, stem cell therapy has brought hope to many stroke patients, both in animal and clinical trials. Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are most commonly utilized in biological medical research, due to their pluripotency and universality. MSCs are often obtained from adipose tissue and bone marrow, and transplanted via intravenous injection. Therefore, this review will discuss the therapeutic mechanisms of MSCs and extracellular vehicles (EVs) secreted by MSCs for stroke, such as in attenuating inflammation through immunomodulation, releasing trophic factors to promote therapeutic effects, inducing angiogenesis, promoting neurogenesis, reducing the infarct volume, and replacing damaged cells.
Mild cognitive impairment (MCI) is commonly defined as a transitional subclinical state between normal aging and dementia. A growing body of research indicates that health behaviors may play a ...protective role against cognitive decline and could potentially slow down the progression from MCI to dementia. The aim of this study is to conduct a bibliometric analysis of literature focusing on health behaviors and MCI to summarize the factors and evidence regarding the influence of health behaviors on MCI.
The study performed a bibliometric analysis by retrieving publications from the Science Citation Index and Social Sciences Citation Index sub-databases within the Web of Science Core Collection. Utilizing VOSviewer and CiteSpace software, a total of 2,843 eligible articles underwent co-citation, co-keywords, and clustering analyses. This methodology aimed to investigate the current status, trends, major research questions, and potential future directions within the research domain.
The bibliometric analysis indicates that research on healthy behaviors in individuals with MCI originated in 2002 and experienced rapid growth in 2014, reflecting the increasing global interest in this area. The United States emerged as the primary contributor, accounting for more than one-third of the total scientific output with 982 articles. Journals that published the most articles on MCI-related health behaviors included "Journal of Alzheimer's Disease," "Neurobiology of Aging," "Frontiers in Aging Neuroscience," and other geriatrics-related journals. High-impact papers identified by VOSviewer predominantly cover concepts related to MCI, such as diagnostic criteria, assessment, and multifactorial interventions. Co-occurrence keyword analysis highlights five research hotspots in health behavior associated with MCI: exercise, diet, risk factors and preventive measures for dementia, cognitive decline-related biomarkers, and clinical trials.
This study provides a comprehensive review of literature on health behavior in individuals with MCI, emphasizing influential documents and journals. It outlines research trends and key focal points, offering valuable insights for researchers to comprehend significant contributions and steer future studies.
The aim of this study was to investigate the influence of road factors on the safety speed threshold of a lorry turning right around a corner at a the bottom of a long downhill T-junction. Trucksim ...simulation software was chosen to construct a model for investigating the turning instability mechanism. A three-axle truck was chosen as the simulation vehicle and road adhesion coefficients of 0.2-0.75, road super-elevations of -2-8%, turning radii of 20-100 m, and vehicle overcharge of 0-100% selected for tuning. Simulation experiments were carried out for different bending conditions, investigating the effects of each influencing factor on the destabilization speed threshold using the control variable method. The vehicle's lateral load transfer rate and lateral acceleration were indicators for determining whether a truck was unstable. The results showed that: a) the turning radius had the most significant influence on the speed threshold for cornering instability; b) the road surface adhesion coefficient and vehicle overweight had secondary effects; and c) the road height had a general influence.

The device-to-device (D2D) communication is viewed as an attractive technique to increase the spectrum efficiency and the data transmission rate in the wireless network. In this paper, we investigate ...the joint resource allocation and power control problem for cooperative D2D users (DUs) which multiplex cellular users (CUs) in downlink cooperative D2D heterogeneous networks. The studied resource allocation problem contains the spectrum resource block allocation and the selection of an idle user which works as a relay to assist the D2D links communication, while the power control aims to reduce the interference between users and improve the communication quality of service (QoS). To efficiently maximize the total throughput of all the DU links and the CU links on the premise of guaranteeing the communication QoS for CUs, we propose a quantum coral reefs optimization algorithm (QCROA) to obtain the optimal joint resource allocation and power control scheme. The simulation results demonstrate that the proposed QCROA achieves an excellent performance for different network communication scenarios.
Epoxy resin adhesive for pavement is often insufficient in flexibility and toughness. Therefore, a new type of toughening agent was prepared to overcome this shortcoming. To achieve the best ...toughening effect of a self-made toughening agent on an epoxy resin adhesive, its ratio to the epoxy resin needs to be optimally selected. A curing agent, a toughening agent, and an accelerator dosage were chosen as independent variables. The epoxy resin's adhesive tensile strength, elongation at break, flexural strength, and flexural deflection were used as response values to establish a single-objective prediction model of epoxy resin mechanical property indexes. Response surface methodology (RSM) was used to determine the single-objective optimal ratio and analyze the effect of factor interaction on epoxy resin adhesive's performance indexes. Based on principal component analysis (PCA), multi-objective optimization was performed using gray relational analysis (GRA) to construct a second-order regression prediction model between the ratio and gray relational grade (GRG) to determine the optimal ratio and to validate it. The results showed that the multi-objective optimization using response surface methodology and gray relational analysis (RSM-GRA) was more effective than the single-objective optimization model. The optimal ratio of epoxy resin adhesive was 100 parts of epoxy resin, 160.7 parts curing agent, 16.1 parts toughening agent, and 3.0 parts accelerator. The measured tensile strength was 10.75 MPa, elongation at break was 23.54%, the bending strength was 6.16 MPa, and the bending deflection was 7.15 mm. RSM-GRA has excellent accuracy for epoxy resin adhesive ratio optimization and can provide a reference for the epoxy resin system ratio optimization design of complex components.
With the advent of Internet of Everything and the era of big data, massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) is considered as an essential technology to meet the growing communication ...requirements for beyond 5G and the forthcoming 6G networks. This paper considers a secure massive MIMO system, where the legitimate user and the base station exchange messages via two-way relays with the presence of passive eavesdroppers. To achieve the trade-off between the physical-layer security and communication reliability, we design a cooperative transmission mode based on multiple-relay collaboration, where some relays broadcast the received signals and other relays act as friendly jammers to prevent the interception by eavesdroppers. A quantum chemical reaction optimization (QCRO) algorithm is proposed to find the most suitable scheme for multiple-relay collaboration. Simulation results highlight excellent performance of the proposed transmission mode under QCRO in different communication scenarios, which can be considered as a potential solution for the security issue in future wireless networks.

Phosphorus content and root zone temperature are two major environmental factors affecting maize growth. Both low phosphorus and root zone high temperature stress significantly affect the growth of ...maize, but the comprehensive effects of phosphorus deficiency and root zone warming are less studied. This study aimed to explore the effects of phosphorus deficiency and root zone warming on the root absorption capacity, total phosphorus content, and photosynthetic fluorescence parameters of maize seedlings. The results showed that maize shoots and roots had different responses to root zone warming and phosphorus deficiency. Properly increasing the root zone temperature was beneficial to the growth of maize seedlings, but when the root zone temperature was too high, it significantly affected the root and shoot development of maize seedlings. The root zone warming had a more significant impact on the root system, while phosphorus deficiency had a greater impact on the shoots. Phosphorus content and root zone warming had a strong interaction. Under the comprehensive influence of normal phosphorus supply and medium temperature in the root zone, the growth of maize seedlings was the best. Under the combined effects of low phosphorus and high temperature in the root zone, the growth was the worst. Compared with the combination of normal phosphorus and root zone medium temperature treatment, the dry mass of the low-phosphorus root zone high temperature treatment was decreased by 55.80%. Under the condition of low-phosphorus too high root zone temperature reduced root vitality, plant phosphorus content, which in turn affected plant growth and light energy utilization efficiency. In the case of sufficient phosphate fertilizer supply, appropriately increasing the soil temperature in the root zone is beneficial to increase the absorption and utilization of phosphorus by plants and promote the growth and development of maize seedlings.
