P-Nitroaniline has been adopted as a versatile precursor for the selective preparation of N-doped porous carbon (PC) and carbon dots (CDs) with rich N functionalities. Furthermore, the CDs are ...anchored on PC to yield PC-CDs composites with the assistance of ultrasonication. Due to the catalytic effect of the pyridinic- and pyrrolic-N sites within the CDs as well as the high specific surface area and conductivity of PC, the optimized PC-CDs-1.5% composite (containing 1.5% CDs) could substantially promote the redox reaction of the acidic KI electrolyte. Therefore, the PC-CDs-1.5%-based supercapacitor demonstrated high specific capacitance (

To simulate the impact of space debris, Ti50Ni50 alloy is impacted at 1.2 km s−1 using a powder gun. Phase transformation, microstructure and mechanical properties in Ti50Ni50 alloy induced by impact ...are investigated. The results show that the phase transformation temperature shifts to a lower temperature in impacted Ti50Ni50 alloy. Variants lose their self-accommodated morphology, martensite plates widen, the variants interfaces migrate and bend under force, and many dislocations exist in the martensite plates. The microhardness reduces and the shape recovery ratio enhances gradually with the increase in distance from the crate. This is attributed to plastic deformation and working hardening caused by high-velocity impact.
•Ti50Ni50 alloy was impacted by a GCr15 projectile at 1.2 km s−1.•There is only one step phase transformation(A→M) induced by impact in Ti50Ni50 alloy.•The Ti50Ni50 alloy in impact direction (path A) suffers the most severe plastic deformation during the impact process.•A gradient variation of microhardness and deformation recovery can be achieve in impact Ti50Ni50 alloy.

•Classical theory indicates Pb(OH)+ or Pb(OH)2(aq) are the active species.•Pb2+-BHA complexes play an important role in scheelite flotation.•Pb2+-BHA complexes contribute to more ...adsorption of BHA.•A new adsorption model of Pb2+ and BHA species is established.
To improve the floatability of tungsten minerals, lead ions (lead nitrate) were used to modify the surface properties of the minerals and benzohydroxamic acid (BHA) was used as a collector in the flotation system. Pb2+-BHA complexes are inevitably present in this process and the role of it is unclear. This investigation is going to describe a new approach and the mechanism of catalyzing BHA adsorption onto scheelite by lead ions. Chemical speciation, zeta potential, FTIR, and XPS studies were conducted to establish the important role of lead ions. Indeed, Pb2+-BHA complexes were shown to be the active species responsible for flotation. The speciation and zeta potential results showed the presence of the adsorbed Pb2+-BHA complexes on the scheelite. The XPS results for atomic composition and binding energies confirmed Pb2+-BHA species adsorbed on the scheelite surface, which contributed to more adsorption of BHA. The new method would increase the recovery of scheelite, simplify the flowsheet and reduce the processing cost.
Coxsackievirus A16 (CV‐A16) is a significant etiologic agent of hand, foot, and mouth disease (HFMD) and herpangina (HA), with the capacity to progress to severe complications, including ...encephalitis, aseptic meningitis, acute flaccid paralysis, myocarditis, and other critical conditions. Beijing's epidemiological surveillance system, established in 2008, encompasses 29 hospitals and 16 district disease control centers. From 2019 to 2021, the circulation of CV‐A16 was characterized by the co‐circulation of B1a and B1b clades. Multiple cases of HFMD linked to clade B1c has not been reported in Beijing until 2022. This study enrolled 400 HFMD and 493 HA cases. Employing real‐time RT‐PCR, 368 enterovirus‐positive cases were identified, with 180 selected for sequencing. CV‐A16 was detected in 18.89% (34/180) of the cases, second only to CV‐A6, identified in 63.33% (114/180). Full‐length VP1 gene sequences were successfully amplified and sequenced in 22 cases, revealing the presence of clades B1a, B1b, and B1c in 14, 3, and 5 cases, respectively. A cluster of five B1c clade cases occurred between June 29 and July 17, 2022, within a 7‐km diameter region in Shunyi District. Phylogenetic analysis of five complete VP1 gene sequences and two full‐genome sequences revealed close clustering with the 2018 Indian strain (GenBank accession: MH780757.1) within the B1c India branch, with NCBI BLAST results showing over 98% similarity. Comparative sequence analysis identified three unique amino acid variations (P3S, V25A, and I235V). The 2022 Shunyi District HFMD cases represent the first instances of spatiotemporally correlated CV‐A16 B1c clade infections in Beijing, underscoring the necessity for heightened surveillance of B1c clade CV‐A16 in HFMD and HA in this region.
In this paper, TiO2 nanorod arrays were prepared via seed-free and seed-assisted method and denoted as TA-SF and TA-SA respectively. TA-SF exhibited higher photoelectrochemical performance due to ...decreased resistance, prolonged electron lifetime obtained from electrochemical impedance spectra (EIS). A novel photo-reduction method was then employed to deposit and manipulate the loading amount of Au decoration. The Au/TA-SF photoanodes were then used in photoelectrochemical cells and the influences of the Au loading amount on the PEC performances were studied in detail. Due to the surface plasmon resonance (SPR) effect of Au nanoparticle, charge transfer resistance was decreased and Au/TA-SF hybrid arrays exhibited improved photocurrent density compared with TA-SF arrays. Typically, Au/TA-SF exhibited higher photocurrent density of 1.1 mA/cm2, which is much higher than that of Au/TA-SA.

Background
Recipient-area perifollicular erythema (RPE) may delay graft growth after hair transplantation. However, there is currently a lack of observational clinical studies of RPE.
Objective
To ...study the clinical features and risk factors associated with RPE while analyzing its correlation with graft growth.
Methods
We conducted a multicenter retrospective cohort study between June 2020 and January 2023.
Results
A total of 1090 participants were included, 178 (16.33%) showed mild RPE, 56 (5.14%) showed moderate RPE, and 10 (0.92%) showed severe RPE. Patients with RPE had severe hair shaft shedding (
P
< 0.001) and a lower survival rate (
P
< 0.001) of grafts. Logistic regression analysis showed that folliculitis is a significant risk factor for mild RPE (OR 6.061, 95% CI 3.343–10.991,
P
< 0.001) and moderate RPE (OR 3.397, 95% CI 1.299–8.882,
P
= 0.013). Besides, untimely first postoperative hair washing was associated with the development of moderate RPE (OR 0.724, 95% CI 0.553–0.947,
P
= 0.018) and severe RPE (OR 1.553, 95% CI 1.156–2.086,
P
= 0.003).
Conclusion
RPE is a postoperative complication closely related to high hair shaft shedding proportion and low graft survival rate. Both postoperative folliculitis and untimely first postoperative hair washing may induce the occurrence of RPE.

Recent studies showed circular RNAs (circRNAs) played regulatory roles in bladder cancer (BC). However, the relevance of circ_0000629, a newly identified circRNA, has not been determined yet. We ...aimed to characterize the function of circ_0000629 in BC and the relevant mechanism.
First, we downloaded circRNA-related microarrays GSE147985 and GSE92675 from the GEO database, followed by a validation in our clinically obtained samples. We then overexpressed circ_0000629 in T24 and SW780 cells and evaluated the effects of circ_0000629 on BC cell proliferatory, apoptotic, and metastatic abilities. We further detected the subcellular localization of circ_0000629 in T24 and SW780 cells by the fractionation and export assay and FISH experiments. Integrated microarray analyses and bioinformatics website prediction were utilized to screen out the downstream microRNA (miRNA)/mRNA. The effects of miR-1290 and CDC73 on BC cell growth and metastasis was verified by functional rescue experiments. In addition, mice xenografts were built to measure the effect of circ_0000629 on tumor growth in vivo.
Circ_0000629 and CDC73 were reduced, and miR-1290 was significantly overexpressed in BC tissues and cells. Moreover, circ_0000629 significantly inhibited the development and metastasis of BC cells, but further overexpression of miR-1290 or knockdown of CDC73 attenuated the inhibitory effect of circ_0000629 on BC cells. Circ_0000629 localized in the cytoplasm and regulated CDC73 expression by sponging miR-1290. Further, overexpressed circ_0000629 reduced the BC tumor growth in vivo.
Circ_0000629 promotes the expression of CDC73 by competitively binding to miR-1290, thereby inhibiting the growth and metastasis of BC cells.
Scheelite and calcite are usually intergrown calcium minerals that are separated via froth flotation. However, their selective separation remains difficult because of their similar surface ...properties. 2-phosphonobutane −1, 2, 4-tricarboxylic acid (PBTCA or H
5
L) is widely used in water treatment due to its low phosphorus content and efficient anti-scaling performance. With its excellent calcium-chelating ability, PBTCA was used as a novel depressant to selectively separate scheelite from calcite in this study. The flotation results of single mineral, binary mixed minerals, and real ore showed that PBTCA could selectively depress calcite at pH 9.0 using sodium oleate as collector. The results of zeta potential measurements, solution chemistry calculation, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and density functional theory calculation indicated that the dominant form of PBTCA was L
5-
. This anion had a stronger adsorption on negatively charged calcite surfaces through electrostatic interaction. Higher Ca density and stronger Ca activity on calcite promote the adsorption of L
5-
. Moreover, the active O atoms in L
5-
could better match with two Ca sites on calcite in the interatom distance. Thus, PBTCA provides a new option for calcite depressants and has great industrial application potential.

•Pyrogallic acid exhibit selective depression effect on bismuthinite flotation.•Pyrogallic acid expanded the difference in flotation rate of both minerals.•Pyrogallic acid has a destabilizing effect ...on the froth phase.
Molybdenum ore flotation techniques are constantly challenged by the emergence of complex sulfide minerals, such as bismuthinite, in the mineral processing industry. Conventional flotation depressants, such as sodium sulfide, used in Mo–Bi-containing ore flotation require high dosages, which leads to high cost and low selectivity. Therefore, in this study, pyrogallic acid (PA), a widely distributed organic source, is tested as an alternative depressant to selectively depress bismuthinite in Mo–Bi sulfide ores from Shizhuyuan. Results show that PA has a minimal effect on molybdenite recovery; by contrast, PA has a high depressing effect on bismuthinite amelioration. At 500 g/t PA, molybdenum recovery slightly decreases by 2 percentage points, and bismuth content in molybdenum concentrate sharply declines by 34 percentage points, with respect to samples floated without PA. Batch flotation tests demonstrate that PA addition affects froth stability, as indicated by the variations of solid and water recoveries. The superior selectivity of molybdenite over bismuthinite is promoted by increasing the PA dosage. On the basis of these findings, PA is a feasible option and thus can be used as a depressant for bismuthinite in the flotation of sulfide minerals.
