After several decades of the economic destruction of Serbian industry, awareness about the importance of this branch of the economy strengthened more and more in recent years. The key question is how ...much are the perspectives of Serbian industry real? The hypothesis is that this perspective depends on the quality of vision, but also on the long-run financial performances of this branch of economy. The paper deals with the analysis of solvency and profitability of the three Serbian industrial branches in the period from 2008 to 2011. These are: mining, processing industry, and supply of electricity, gas, steam and climatization. A framework for analysis is represented by collective data from the balance sheet and profit & loss statements of those branches. The assessment of solvency and profitability is based on ratio indicators. The paper points out the need for establishing a special regulation body at the level of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, whose task would be to formulate and control the implementation of the industrial development strategy of Serbia in the long-run.
Colosalpingeal fistula is a rare complication secondary to diverticular disease. The pathogenesis is still not clearly understood. We present the case of a colosalpingeal fistula and a review of the ...management of this pathology.
A 69-year-old patient with uncomplicated diverticular disease was referred to our department for recurrent vaginal discharge. The clinical examination was unremarkable, hysteroscopy revealed the presence of air in the uterine cavity in the absence of a uterine fistula. A preliminary diagnosis of colosalpingeal fistula was made and was confirmed by computed tomography (CT) scan and hysterosalpingography. A one-stage surgery via laparotomy was successfully performed with remission of the symptoms.
Colotubal fistula is a rare complication resulting from intestinal diverticular disease. The purpose of this paper was to emphasize the presence of a rare, but serious complication occurring in diverticular disease with atypical symptoms and one-stage surgery treatment.
Ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) is one of the most serious complications of
fertilization (IVF). We present a case of OHSS maintained and aggraved by albumin administration. A 29-year-old ...woman with severe OHSS was treated with albumin perfusion according to the guidelines. The albumin was administered in order to maintain intravascular oncotic pressure and to reverse the shift of fluid from the intravascular to the third space, but this therapeutic measure resulted in inadvertent maintenance of the syndrome. The treatment of OHSS is a delicate balance between invasive approaches, such as paracentesis, administration of colloids and minimal therapeutic intervention, particularly during pregnancy.

The world economy is faced with an unfavorable prognosis for economic growth in the short and long term. Among economists, the great debate is ongoing about the causes of this situation, as well as ...about the ways of accelerating economic growth. Part of the solution is certainly the institutions. This paper deals with the relation between institutions and economic growth. Institutions are important, but more recent discussions have shown that countries can achieve relatively high growth rates even in the conditions of underdeveloped Institutions. The key problem is not in the institutions themselves, but in how they are managed. The paper points to several factors that can contribute to better Integration of governance and growth. Industrial policies are one of the pillars of structural changes that accelerate economic growth. The (general) policy can also provide certain contribution. Namely, the pace of economic growth is related to the function of coverage and depth of economic reforms. The nature of reforms depends on which of the two opposing reform path policy will be followed: clientelist one or the path of the dominant state. Finally, the development strategy also contributes to the Integration of management and growth. Economic growth is one of the goals of the development strategy. The dynamics of economic growth will depend on the choice of priorities among the goals. For developing countries with relatively low Income level, a development priority should be to strengthen the capacity of the state.

This decision may have certain consequences, as there may be undiagnosed lesions, such as tuboperitoneal ones, which could have an impact in the management of these patients. Our group treats them with diagnostic therapeutic laparoscopy, followed by three cycles of intrauterine insemination. Objectives: Validate our management of unexplained infertility, estimate the frequency of pelvic pathology in patients with unexplained infertility with a normal histerosalpingography, evaluate the pregnancy rate after the laparoscopic resolution of their pathology, and review the existent literature. Results: We reviewed all laparoscopic surgeries performed in patients with unexplained infertility in Hospital Clínico de la Pontificia Universidad Católica, between 2007-2011. From these, 57 patients met the inclusion criteria, and 39 of them received at least one intrauterine insemination cycle after the procedure. Laparoscopic alterations were present in 82.4% of the patients, being the most prevalent ones endometriosis grade I and II (57.8%) and pelvic adhesions (43.8%). Of the 57 patients who underwent laparoscopy, only 25 completed three cycles of intrauterine insemination, 8 of which conceived (32%). Conclusion: Our results are similar to those exposed in other series, regarding pathologic findings and fertility rate after laparoscopy. As there is limited access to advanced reproductive techniques in our country, our management represents an excellent choice for this group of patients.
