A previously developed approach for the numerical treatment of two particles that are confined in a finite optical-lattice potential and interact via an arbitrary isotropic interaction potential has ...been extended to incorporate an additional anisotropic dipole-dipole interaction (DDI). The interplay of a model but realistic short-range Born-Oppenheimer potential and the DDI for two confined particles is investigated. A variation of the strength of the DDI leads to diverse resonance phenomena. In a harmonic confinement potential some resonances show similarities to s-wave scattering resonances while in an anharmonic trapping potential like the one of an optical lattice additional inelastic confinement-induced dipolar resonances occur. The latter are due to a coupling of the relative and center-of-mass motion caused by the anharmonicity of the external confinement.

An unknown story by Bruno Schulz, titled “Undula,” published in 1922 in the fortnightly Świt, a tribune of the oil industry officials from the town of Borysław, under a mysterious penname “Marceli ...Weron”.
A system of two dipolar particles that are confined in a double‐well potential and interact via a realistic isotropic interaction potential is investigated as a protoype for ultracold atoms with a ...magnetic dipole moment or ultracold dipolar heteronuclear diatomic molecules in double‐well traps or in optical lattices. The resulting energy spectrum is discussed as a function of the dipole–dipole interaction strength. The variation of the strength of the dipole–dipole interaction is found to lead to various resonance phenomena. Among those are the previously discussed inelastic confinement‐induced resonances as well as the dipole‐induced resonances. It is found that the double‐well potential gives rise to a new type of resonances, tunnel‐induced dipolar ones.

A review of an exhibition of the Drogobych artist, Feliks Lachowicz, published in "Przegląd Podkarpacia". Schulz perceived in the works of Lachowicz, who made pictures referring to his hometown’s ...history, an unprecedented chronicle project, and believedthat the artist had a talent of medieval illustrators. The text concludes with an appealto the authorities to purchase Lachowicz’s works for the future municipal gallery housingthe achievements of local artists.

Bruno Schulz’s essay on Ephraim Moses Lilien, a Jewish artist born in Drogobych, was published serially in 1937-1938 in "Przegląd Podkarpacia". Not only is it the only Schulz’stext on plastic arts, ...but also his only explicit statement on Jewish matters. In Schulz’sopinion, Lilien stimulated his interest in plastic arts and played an important role as a mythmaker of contemporary Zionism.
