Agricultural value chains can be understood as the systems of people, organizations and activities needed to create process and deliver agricultural products from producers to consumers. Over time ...and due to huge changes that have happened in the surroundings, agricultural value chains have become very integrated and complex. Small farmers can prosper by joining in modern higher-level agricultural value chains, but there are numerous obstacles, as well. The work presents the typology of organizational models for agricultural production that consists of the models organised by producers, agribusiness companies (processors, retail chains, and intermediaries), facilitators (governments, non-governmental organisations) and completely integrated models, established by some big companies. None of these models provides ideal solutions from the perspective of small producers. However, they say that the institutions, such as cooperatives and small farmers' organisations, present important mechanisms for including small producers in modern value chains and realizing the cooperation with agribusiness companies and other important players. This is also important for decision-makers and governmental bodies that should create a suitable environment and provide support so that small farmers and their organisations can integrate in modern value chains in a successful way.

This paper present result of physic-chemical testing of water quality in Barje reservoir that was conducted at the laboratory of the Institute for Public Health Leskovac, in 2009. These results were ...compared with the test results obtained after formation and loading of reservoir, in 1996, which also represent initial – zero condition of quality of Barje reservoir. However, according to quantity of water, its natural and technological properties, this source is of general public interest and is classified as the first-rank source. Results of the latest tests and increase in concentration of most of important quality parameters provide early indications of the process of eutrophication. Increased maximal pH value in recent tests imposes expected increase of primary production, which also indicates the existence of more expressed eutrophication processes within Barje reservoir.
This study analyses the process of purifying waste waters from textile fibre dyeing by adsorption of colour on natural zeolites from “Nemetali” mine, Vranjska Banja, Serbia. The process has been ...analyzed in an adsorption column filled with natural zeolite as the adsorbent. Adsorbents are organic substances, i.e. colour residues from waste waters, left after textile fibres dyeing. The concentration change in waste waters is represented with the parameter of chemical oxygen demand (COD). Two models of diffusion have been considered: diffusion in pores and diffusion in adsorbent phase on solid adsorbent, for different input loads and two zeolite granulations (13 and 35 mm). It was found that the diffusion in zeolite pores that were in adsorbed phase is dominant in this case, which can be explained by large dimensions of used colours’ molecules. This is the reason why its adsorption in zeolite micro pores is minimal, and yet it diffuse well in already adsorbed phase on solid adsorbents. Since this process is slower, it will determine the overall rate of colour adsorption from waste waters. Specific equilibrium capacity, specific dynamic capacity, as well as the level of adsorbent utilization were determined by the use of mass transfer zone concept. It has been shown that the adsorption of organic substances from waste waters is satisfactory, and is around 80%. The highest degree of adsorbent utilization is obtained at the lowest flow of 0.167 cm3 s-1, while the lowest degree of utilization of 30%, is obtained at the highest flow of 3.27 cm3 s-1. Input load has significant influence on the degree of column utilization, while higher values of COD0 result in lower degrees of column utilization. Methodology for determining energy indicators necessary for potential analysis of rational energy usage in industrial processes is shown in this paper. Results of analysis are given for paper ...industry as an example of complex manufacturing process. Presented methodology is used for calculation of specific energy consumption (SEC) in comparative energy statistics performed by Serbian Industrial Energy Efficiency Network (SIEEN). As shown in paper SEC is as energy indicator good identifier of state change of both energetic and manufacturing technologies, but also indicator of efficiency management of the company resources.

Much like in the rest of the world, higher education institutions in the Republic of Croatia are working in a turbulent environment. Croatian polytechnics must recognize and understand the changes in ...their environment in order to be able to properly respond to them. The Polytechnic “Nikola Tesla” in Gospić is one of the polytechnics facing a growing competition, but also the problem of decreasing enrolment. To solve these problems, it is necessary to apply marketing methods and techniques for understanding the process of deciding on applying for admission to the Polytechnic. In order to better understand this process and how it can be influenced, the authors examined the criteria that students use when making this decision. It was established during the research that some of the criteria had a greater impact on the decision to apply for admission (the location of the Polytechnic, professional orientation, reasonable admission requirements and applicability of professional knowledge in practice and employment prospects as the key decision factor), while others had a much smaller impact. In addition, the research has shown that there is no significant difference between male and female respondents with regard to the importance they attach to different criteria. Using factor analysis, the criteria for admission to the Polytechnic were grouped as follows: the quality of education, studying conditions, image of the institution, the cost of education, and the influence of friends and family.
