This work aims to analyze the cultivation of coffee in Minas Gerais and especially in the Mesoregion of Noroeste and Vale do Jequitinhonha and Mucuri. This crop is extremely important in the field's ...production, as it effectively contributes to the country's GDP, and to the economy of the state of Minas Gerais. The economic importance is reflected in other areas such as the political and strategic importance of these productive spaces. Our proposal is to build an analysis from the database made available by the 2017 Agricultural Census, the last census carried out in Brazilian territory to draw a profile of Minas Gerais producers and analyze how family and business agriculture are distributed in the territory of Minas Gerais. The analysis also elucidates the places and forms of production that most need state help, based on the implementation of public policies. The conclusions point to the presence of an unequal agrarian structure that directly interferes in the form of coffee production in the analyzed territory.

This study advances the limited generalizability of previous studies that have focused on developed market multinational enterprises and explores the link between institutional distance and ownership ...choice of emerging market multinational enterprises (EMNEs). Such studies in the EMNE context have been rare, and we provide key theoretical explanations for EMNEs’ distinct foreign direct investment motives to act as important contingencies in the link between institutional distance and EMNEs’ ownership choices. Analyses of longitudinal data of Chinese firms’ internationalization from 2001 to 2017 reveal that the higher the institutional distance, the lower the level of EMNE subsidiary ownership control with market‐seeking motives; while the higher the institutional distance, the higher the level of EMNE subsidiary ownership control with knowledge‐seeking motives.

We show that 'Oumuamua's excited spin could be in a high-energy long axis mode (LAM) state, which implies that its shape could be far from the highly elongated shape found in previous studies. CLEAN ...and ANOVA algorithms are used to analyze 'Oumuamua's lightcurve using 818 observations over 29.3 days. Two fundamental periodicities are found at frequencies (2.77 0.11) and (6.42 0.18) cycles/day, corresponding to (8.67 0.34) hr and (3.74 0.11) hr, respectively. The phased data show that the lightcurve does not repeat in a simple manner, but approximately shows a double minimum at 2.77 cycles/day and a single minimum at 6.42 cycles/day. 'Oumuamua could be spinning in either the LAM or short axis mode (SAM). For both, the long axis precesses around the total angular momentum vector with an average period of (8.67 0.34) hr. For the three LAMs we have found, the possible rotation periods around the long axis are 6.58, 13.15, or 54.48 hr, with 54.48 hr being the most likely. 'Oumuamua may also be nutating with respective periods of half of these values. We have also found two possible SAM states where 'Oumuamua oscillates around the long axis with possible periods at 13.15 and 54.48 hr. In this case any nutation occurs with the same periods. Determination of the spin state, the amplitude of the nutation, the direction of the total angular momentum vector (TAMV), and the average total spin period may be possible with a direct model fit to the lightcurve. We find that 'Oumuamua is "cigar-shaped," if close to its lowest rotational energy, and an extremely oblate spheroid if close to its highest energy state.
Every year, millions of Americans experience the incarceration of a family member. Using 30 years of administrative data from Ohio and exploiting differing incarceration propensities of randomly ...assigned judges, this paper provides the first quasi-experimental estimates of the effects of parental and sibling incarceration in the United States. Parental incarceration has beneficial effects on some important outcomes for children, reducing their likelihood of incarceration by 4.9 percentage points and improving their adult neighborhood quality. While estimates on academic performance and teen parenthood are imprecise, we reject large positive or negative effects. Sibling incarceration leads to similar reductions in criminal activity.
With a hyperbolic trajectory around the Sun, 'Oumuamua is the first confirmed interstellar object. However, its origin is poorly known. By simulating the orbits of 0.23 million local stars, we find ...109 encounters with periastron less than 5 pc. 'Oumuamua's low peculiar velocity is suggestive of its origin from a young stellar association with similar velocity. In particular, we find that 'Oumuamua would have had slow encounters with at least five young stars belonging to the Local Association, thus suggesting these as plausible sites for formation and ejection. In addition to an extremely elongated shape, the available observational data for 'Oumuamua indicates a red color, suggestive of a potentially organic-rich and activity-free surface. These characteristics seem consistent with formation through energetic collisions between planets and debris objects in the middle part of a young stellar system. We estimate an abundance of at least 6.0 × 10−3 au−3 for such interstellar objects with mean diameter larger than 100 m and find that it is likely that most of them will be ejected into the Galactic halo. Our Bayesian analysis of the available light curves indicates a rotation period of , which is consistent with the estimation by Meech et al. and shorter than those in other literature. The codes and results are available on GitHub (https://github.com/phillippro/Oumuamua).
This paper provides evidence of a novel facet of peer effects by showing that peer personality influences academic achievement. We exploit random assignment of students to university sections and ...find that students perform better in the presence of persistent peers. The impact of peer persistence is enduring, as students exposed to persistent peers at the beginning of their studies continue to achieve higher grades in subsequent periods. The personality peer effects that we document are distinct from other observable peer characteristics and suggest that peer personality traits affect human capital accumulation.
Pregnancy complications are problems or health problems that often occur during pregnancy, and can impact not only the health of the mother but also the newborn. High risk during pregnancy occurs in ...pregnant women under the age of 19 and over 35 years and the length of marriage is over 5 years. Further analysis of this secondary data is descriptive of analytics conducted using a Cross-sectional design. Research sites throughout the Province in Indonesia, conducted from July 24 to September 30, 2019. The secondary data was re-processed by researchers with several different variables in 2019. The samples in this study were all SDKI 2017 samples that met the criteria of 16,343 samples. Then the data is analyzed with univariate analysis, bivariate with a chi-square test, and multivariate with a logistics regression test. The results of the univariate analysis found that the percentage of babies born with LBW was 7.53% and the proportion of respondents who had pregnancy complications was 87.96%. Then the bivariate analysis obtained that there is a relationship between pregnancy complications with the incidence of BBLR obtained a p-value of 0.025 or a value of 0.81. Later multivariate analysis showed that the most influential factors were birth distance with OR=1.12 and Antenatal Care services (ANC) with OR=1.22. Then the factors associated with causing LBW are complications, maternal age, and socioeconomic status with a p-value of <0.05. There is a link between pregnancy complications and LBW events with a p-value of 0.025. Pregnancy complications have a connection to the incidence of LBW, it is necessary for every pregnant woman to be able to increase knowledge of the danger signs of pregnancy.
