Abstract
Neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) predominantly affect vulnerable and marginalized populations in tropical and subtropical areas and globally affect more than one billion people. In Guinea, ...the burden of NTDs is estimated to be >7.5 disability-adjusted life years per million inhabitants. Currently the Guinea NTDs master plan (2017–2020) has identified eight diseases as public health problems: onchocerciasis, lymphatic filariasis, trachoma, schistosomiasis and soil-transmitted helminthiasis, leprosy, human African trypanosomiasis and Buruli ulcer. In this review we discuss the past and the current case burden of the priority NTDs in Guinea, highlight the major milestones and discuss current and future areas of focus for achieving the 2030 target outlined by the World Health Organization.
The National Electricity Supply Business Plan 2021-2030 is a strong commitment from Indonesia's government to fulfill the pathway toward Net Zero Emissions. Among other renewable energy development ...plans, the photovoltaic (PV) power plants have the highest capacity increase during the 2021-2030 period, around 6,023%. Currently, PV power plants in Indonesia were installed in 3 types of technology (rooftop, floating, and ground-mounted) with pros and cons in each type of technology. Considering the scale of PV power plant development and the limited resources of the country, PV power plant development has to prioritize the technology which provides the highest profit to promote sustainability. This paper developed a method to compare and investigate the variety of PV power plant installation technology's achievable returns using modeling software that takes into account the variability of the energy yield (using the thermal losses approach), the variability of the commercial scheme, and the variability of the related cost of each installation technology according to Indonesia's policy. The simulation results using PVsyst as modeling software together with the current business model and policy regulations show that ground-mounted PV installation has the highest achievable return. Floating PV comes in second, and then rooftop PV is the last.
