Agrovoltaika kot način dvojne rabe kmetijskih zemljišč je predmet številnih raziskav in projektov znanstveno raziskovalnih inštitucij in investitorjev. Podjetje Hidroelektrarne na Spodnji Savi, ...d.o.o. želi na obstoječi deponiji s postavljeno sončno elektrarno ob pretočni akumulaciji hidroelektrarne v Brežicah razviti koncept kmetijske rabe kmetijskih zemljišč med in pod obstoječimi paneli fotovoltaične elektrarne. Sončna elektrarna je postavljena v občini Brežice, parcele so v k.o.
Groundwater pollution with pesticides is a problem that occurs all over the world as well as in Slovenia. Considering the past high loads of groundwater with pesticides, the purpose of the presented ...research was to determine the presence of pesticides in the groundwater of Krško-Brežiško polje in the period 2018-2019 and to check the applicability of the passive sampling method. A total of 21 groundwater samples were taken at 11 locations and 2 samples each in the Sava and Krka rivers. We identified 15 pesticides and their degradation products. Atrazine and its degradation product desethylatrazine were most frequently determined in groundwater samples. They are followed by desethylterbutylazine, terbutylazine, metolachlor and simazine. Atrazine, desethylatrazine, chlortoluron, metolachlor and terbuthylazine were detected in surface water. A total of 24 samples were taken in groundwater and surface water using the qualitative passive sampling method. We singled out 8 pesticides that appear in two campaigns. The frequency and occurrence of individual pesticides by both methods are comparable. Passive sampling has proven to be an appropriate method of identifying the presence of pesticides. The highest loads in the Krško-Brežiško field arise from the agricultural land areas. Groundwater is more contaminated with pesticides in the central part of the field in the direction of groundwater flow from west to east. In the groundwater of the Krško-Brežice field, atrazine and desethylatrazine are still the most frequently detected pesticides with higher concentrations, despite a 20 years long ban on the use of atrazine-based plant protection products.
Between 1704/1705 and 1710 Franz Carl Remp lived in Graz and while in the service of Ignaz Maria Count of Attems participated in the furnishing of the newly built Palais Attems. At the same time, he ...produced altar paintings for churches in Graz, Stainz, and Voitsberg. Remp and his family moved then to Vienna – 1711 at the latest – and during this time he mainly worked for the Kremsmünster Benedictine monastery and the St. Florian Augustinian Canons’ monastery. Remp’s works for the Palais Attems are stylistically heterogeneous. Since they were several years in the making, the differences could be a consequence of the intended placement of the paintings, and especially of Remp’s artistic development during the execution of the large commission. Among his later works, the cycle of historical paintings for the Kremsmünster monastery, which was finished in 1713, is particularly recognized for the richness of its composition and painting. The sopraporte for the St. Florian’s monastery attest to Remp’s maturation as a painter during his Viennese period.
Geophysical investigations were conducted using electrical resistivity tomography (ERT) along planned dykes of the HPP Brežice water accumulation basin. The ERT profile is 7.3 km long and is located ...on the right riverbank of the Sava River on the Kr{ko-Brežice field (E Slovenia). A purpose of the investigations was to determine a boundary between semipermeable Miocene and permeable Plio-Quaternary (Pl-Q) and Quaternary (Q) sediments for the proper design of the jet grouting sealing curtain, which will prevent lateral outflow of water from the accumulation basin. In this paper we present processing of the section between 5100 and 6100 m of the profile line. In this section the measurement template was set to 25 depth levels, because a significant increase in a thickness of the Pl-Q sediments was expected. Modelling of the measured apparent electrical resistivity data was carried out with RES2DINV and RESIX 2DI inversion software. Different inversion parameters were used to create 15 geoelectrical models for each program, which were then compared and evaluated based on borehole data and on previous geological investigations of the area. With the final geoelectrical models it was possible to successfully determine areas of three expected stratigraphic members and limit an electrical resistivity range for each one of them. The boundary is well defined between Q and Pl-Q and also between Q and Miocene sediments with sharp contrast in electrical resistivity between them. A boundary between Pl-Q and Miocene sediments was not that obvious, but it was possible to determine its shape by the use of different inversion parameters. We propose a simplified geological cross section based on the interpreted geoelectrical models and borehole data.
It has been supposed that the Brežice Sava River Terrace (BSRT) is tectonically disturbed near the town of Brežice and tilted to the north. To confirm this tectonically induced tilt in a quantitative ...sense, low-frequency Ground Penetration Radar (GPR) was applied. A total of eight GPR profiles were recorded across the BSRT providing information of the lower boundary of the terrace, which consists of loose to poorly cemented Quaternary gravel, while its Tertiary basement consists of poorly cemented carbonaceous silt (marl). The premise of the study was the assumption that this lithological boundary could be detected by the GPR method. In addition to the upper surface of the BSRT being tilted to the north by 0.18°, GPR profiles also showed a 0.04° difference in the tilt between the upper surface of the terrace and its lower boundary with the basement, which we assigned to the sin-sedimentary tilt. Upon this information, a cumulative tectonically induced dip of the BSRT lower boundary was defined at 0.22
Dark tourism is a special form of tourism that involves travelling to places associated with death, violence, as well as various types of disasters and catastrophes. The paper defines dark tourism ...and - based on an analysis of literature and fieldwork, which contains the method of unstructured interviews - identifies dark stories from various cemeteries in the municipalities of Brežice and Krško, describes them and, depending on their content, explores whether they have potential for the development of dark tourism.
PurposeDark tourism has a very long heritage. Compared to the rest of the world, dark tourism in Slovenia is very poorly developed. The theme is therefore a novelty in Slovenia as well as in the ...Slovenian professional and scientific literature. The purpose of this paper is to identify and describe dark stories of two small cities – Brežice and Krško – in Slovenia.Design/methodology/approachThe paper brings ethnographical approach based on the in-depth literature analysis, existing documentation in museums (old newspapers articles, photographs) and fieldwork in Brežice and Krško which contained the method of unstructured interviews with four curators in The Posavje Museum Brežice, The City Museum of Krško and The National Museum of Contemporary History – Brestanica Branch as well as the method of observation with participation in a guided tour of Posavje “witches” in The City Museum of Krško and The Brežice Cemetery. The information for the research was also obtained by conducting ten unstructured interviews with the residents who live nearby “dark places” or are still connected to them.FindingsThe paper provides practical results as 14 dark stories related to the castles, wars, accidents, murders, paranormal activities and witchcraft were found. These stories could be incorporated into dark tourism.Research limitations/implicationsBecause of the chosen research approach, the research results may lack generalizability. The results refer to a particular area of research.Practical implicationsThe paper includes implications for the development of a new dark tourism product on a basis of dark stories found in the research area.Originality/valueThe paper fulfills need to identify and study dark stories that can be integrated in dark tourism in Slovenia.

Geological prospection of partly accessible constructional pit for the hydroelectric power plant (HPP) Brežice was performed. Paleontological content and sediment-petrographic characteristics of ...rocks were investigated. Neogene part of the succession consists of carbonate silt and siltstone with intercalations of carbonate and silicate sandstone, and polymict sandstone to conglomerate. Based on foraminifera, ostracods, molluscs and marine mammals, the Upper Badenian and Lower Sarmatian age of beds and boundary between them have been determined. The transition is characterized by a shorter break in sedimentation and environmental change. Fossil fids indicate that salinity and depth of sedimentary basin were oscilating in Sarmatian, but in general decreasing. Quaternary cover beds consist of gravelly, sandy and silty deposits of the Sava River.
