Besides them, I feel extremely lucky for all the mentors and teachers I have had. ...the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation is doing an amazing job.
The Zoom format was not only expedient, but also essential to The Plague: it enabled Wang to foster international solidarity while at the same time threatened to turn the production into a ...performance of precarity, which echoed our shared struggle in a global pandemic. The daring experiment of staging a live performance across five time zones also came at a cost: minor technical glitches, freezes, and time lags transpired in the performance that I saw. ...eating the food that they prepared at the beginning of the performance, they revisited the moment when the everyday and the theatrical overlapped and bade goodbye to audience members who bore witness to the fight together. THE PLAGUE. After La Peste by Albert Camus. Adapted for the stage by Neil Bartlett. Directed by Wang Chong.
Camus finished the essay with the story of Sisyphus – the king of Ephyra punished by the gods for believing himself above their power to roll a great boulder up a mountain each day, only to watch it ...roll back to the base after his day of toil. Maybe there is a message to take from this, that there are small glimmers of meaning in a patient's life to hold on to and it should be a priority to identify these? Maybe we should view treatments as merely adjuncts to improve the patient's ability to find meaning in life rather than a cure?

Literature is an expression of the world in which the writer lives and becomes an eternal renewal. Indeed, fiction and reality are currently being mixed up once again around the global pandemic we ...are going through. Today's world is experiencing upheavals in daily life due to the COVID 19 virus and even the health crisis since January 2020. This disease has sown disorder within societies and has even fostered prejudices and stereotypes. Such is the case in “The Year of the Lion” by its South African author Deon Meyer. In this communication, we will try to see, on the one hand, how this postapocalyptic and premonitory novel written since 2016, reveals itself to be a place of value judgments and gives rise to preconceived ideas against the characters having to manage extreme situations and make difficult decisions, and on the other hand, to see how the author works to deconstruct these stereotypes by putting the action exclusively in Africa.
The paper aimed, at assessing some critiques of feminist-ethical conception and evaluation of the operational practice of capital punishment. It recognized that ethics has been for the operational ...values of the human persons as subjects of lived experiences based on the choices we make. This has been for the promotion, protection and respect for the fundamental human rights, especially the right to life, which gives a firmed foundation for other rights for the sustainability of the society in harmony, peace, equity and justice. The paper recognized that these qualities of living in any given society cannot be guaranteed by the practice of capital punishment as corrective measure, for the control of crimes. It is on this concern for the effects of social or societal practices of capital punishment, the feminist ethics examined this practice on women and the children, as most of the criminals convicted to face capital punishment are mainly the men folk who are supposed to live to care for their families. As such, the feminist ethicists advocate for possible eradication of capital punishment in every society as practiced by the governments of the nations. Adopting phenomenological method of analysis, the paper concluded that the feminist ethicists recognized that the society can be more peaceful and orderly when the lives and values of women in reference to the valuation of all lives, and learn the justice and the values of the society are dependable on the values such society has on the women as subjects of lived experiences.
The article offers a phenomenological study of the interpenetrating experiences of suffering and Godforsakenness from the perspective of 'the scourge of God', based on the works of Albert Camus. The ...study reveals the complexity and ambiguity of this experience and its transcendental significance as being 'without God', and invites eschatological and soteriological discussions. However, special attention is focused on understanding the suffering of humanity which manifests the quintessential experience of Godforsakenness. Suffering becomes a space of total vulnerability, not only before God but also before the neighbour and the Church. The experience of Godforsakenness also becomes a tool of apophatic theology and a sign of the reconciliation of suffering and God's love. In addition, the experience of Godforsakenness in suffering may produce original gifts: hope, solidarity, and faith as "confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see" (Hebrew 11, 1).
