Can an enterprise's green technological innovation ability enhance its competitiveness? This topic has not been studied extensively, there is no consensus in the existing literature, and there is no ...clear indication of the underlying mechanism and processes. In this research, we establish a conceptual framework to describe the effect of an enterprise's green technological innovation ability on enterprise competitiveness. This model uses product differentiation as the mediating variable and the enterprise scale as the moderating variable. This study is based on a hierarchical regression analysis of the energy conservation and environmental protection data from enterprises listed in China from 2011 to 2016. Our findings show that, in general, the green technological innovation ability of an enterprise has a significant positive effect on the enterprise's competitiveness, but different components have different effects on enterprise competitiveness. Product differentiation has a mediating effect on the relationship between an enterprise's green technological innovation ability and competitiveness, and its mediating effect differs depending on the components of the green technological innovation ability. The enterprise scale positively moderates the relationship between the enterprise's green technological innovation ability and enterprise competitiveness through product differentiation. This research provides a new analytical framework to understand the mechanism underlying the effect of an enterprise's green technological innovation ability on enterprise competitiveness, and it also provides useful insights into the development of green technological innovation competitiveness and the establishment of new policies by the government to improve the regulatory framework for green development.
•We describe the effect of an enterprise's green technological innovation ability on enterprise competitiveness.•We differentiate the different effects of different types of green technology innovation capabilities.•We analyze the regulating effect of enterprise scale when enterprise's green technological innovation ability influences enterprise competitiveness.•We show a new framework to learn how an enterprise's green technological innovation ability affects enterprise competitiveness.
This study aimed to assess the explanatory power of the sub-indices and pillars of the Travel & Tourism Competitiveness Index on ITA taking Africa as a case. The study extended the epistemological ...articulations and empirical values of the TTCI by introducing ITA as a dependent variable. It took WEF's 7 years report on TTCI of 29 African economies. Results show that the predictive powers of half of TTCI Sub-indices as formative indicators to ITA are weak and negative. Analogously, the collinearity, validity, and reliability issues of sub-indices were substantially not resolved. These findings have implied that the TTCI has to articulate its predictive bearing before it can be accepted as an epistemologically and practically relevant concept that prescribes policy issues especially on the course of diagnosing the African Tourism ecosystem.
Objective
Scholars disagree on whether income inequality has incentive or disincentive effects. In the present research, we move beyond such debate and focus on the motivational processes that income ...inequality predicts. First, income inequality makes economic stratification salient; therefore, it should promote perceived competitiveness. Second, competitiveness can be appraised as both a challenge and a threat; therefore, it should promote both approach and avoidance motivation.
Method
In three studies (N = 2,543), U.S. residents from various ZIP codes reported the extent to which they perceived competitiveness in their town/city (Studies 1–3), as well as their economic achievement goals, achievement motives, and self‐regulatory foci (Studies 2–3).
Results
Level of local income inequality was found to be a positive predictor—via increased perceived competitiveness—of other‐approach economic goals, need for achievement, and promotion focus, as well as other‐avoidance economic goals, fear of failure (specifically, the shame/embarrassment component), and prevention focus. Furthermore, actual and perceived income inequality were positively correlated.
Conclusions
The conceptual and empirical work herein is the first to show how the economic environment predicts individuals’ perceptions of competitiveness, influencing personal goals, motives, and orientations. It provides a more nuanced perspective on the implications of income inequality than perspectives currently available.

The article examines the importance of management technology in ensuring sustainable competitive advantages of the bank. The evaluation of the competitiveness of competitor banks was carried out ...using a method that, unlike the existing ones, allows taking into account the evaluation of technological parameters, which in modern conditions has a significant impact on the competitiveness of banks.
According to the results of the competitiveness assessment, it was established that modern clients of banking institutions expect convenience and speed in interaction with banks, in view of this, the parameter "technological provision of services" has a significant impact on the level of the bank's competitiveness, and should be taken into account in the formation of the bank's competitive strategy. the work is devoted to the justification of the feasibility of using management technologies aimed at ensuring the automation of the bank's business processes, the advantages of their introduction and the impact on the bank's competitiveness are highlighted. Based on the application of the method of functional modeling and the construction of a cross functional flow chart, a study of the bank's business processes was carried out, a graphic model of the "lending" business process was built, the operations of the business process, their executors, and the connections between them were detailed. On the basis of the research, "bottlenecks" and reasons for the inefficiency of the "crediting" business process were identified. On the basis of the functional-cost analysis, the economic efficiency of the application of management technologies aimed at ensuring sustainable competitive advantages of the bank by calculating the time spent on the execution of the business process has been proven, and the recommended number of employees necessary for the execution of the business process has been established. It is substantiated that the application of management technologies aimed at ensuring the automation of the bank's business processes will contribute to the development of sustainable competitive advantages by simplifying and accelerating the processing of applications, increasing the number of loans issued, which will lead, accordingly, to an increase in bank profits.
The purpose of the article is to develop theoretical foundations and develop practical recommendations for the development of bank management technology in order to strengthen its competitive advantages.
In order to achieve the goal, the following research methods are used in the article: functional modeling in the notation "Cross Functional Flow Chart" (diagram of tracks) - for modeling the business process of granting a loan; the method of functional and cost analysis - for the purpose of researching the effectiveness of the implementation of the proposed measures.
Debates about competitiveness and productivity are practically unexplored with respect to tourism. This article posits a productivity-related measure—total tourism contribution to GDP per employee in ...tourism—in order to examine destination competiveness. Comprehensive results based on a destination competitiveness model are obtained by analyzing tourism-specific and wider economy-based competitiveness factors. These are represented by six destination competitiveness factors measured by 55 indicators for 139 destinations over the period 2007–2011. Study findings demonstrate that tourism-specific factors, such as Tourism Infrastructure and Destination Management, are the major competitiveness drivers in developing countries, while destination competitiveness in developed countries depends on the tourism-specific factor of Destination Management as well as on wider economic conditions such as General Infrastructure, Macro-Environment, and Business Environment. The study offers a novel approach in the operationalization and estimation of a theoretically grounded and empirically validated tourism competitiveness model and discusses the implications for tourism policy.
This study analyzes the work performance of salespeople with a competitive disposition. The results show a positive link between dispositional competitiveness and discretionary performance, and ...suggest that salespeople's affective commitment to their organization mediates this link. The relationship between dispositional competitiveness and affective commitment is more positive when salespeople perceive their psychological work climate to be competitive. The findings add to the research on dispositional competitiveness and affective commitment among sales staff.
