Whether an educational institution develops or not depends on its performance. To improve this performance, many things are done, including how leaders help improve institutional performance in ...developing competitiveness, one of which is through benchmarking. From this, researchers want to know whether there is a relationship between benchmarking and institutional performance. This research aims to determine the relationship between benchmarking and performance at one State Madrasah Aliyah in East Java. The research method used in this research is a quantitative approach. The data collection method uses a Likert scale. The population and sample use a saturated sample technique or a total sample with 35 respondents. The data analysis technique uses Product Moment correlation. This research shows a relationship between benchmarking and institutional performance with evidence of a product-moment correlation value of 0.430 with a significance value of 0.010 (p < 0.05), which means that Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. This research provides implications for benchmarking and institutional performance in competitiveness development.
The monitoring report on progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in a global context involves a large number of actors as it represents probably the biggest change that our society ...is implementing. Actions at all levels, from local, regional and national to the aggregation of multiple countries (e.g. EU 27) are needed to achieve a sustainable future. This work focuses on a national perspective (Italy) where multi-criteria decision analysis (MCDA) is used to measure current performance. A sustainability score for each region is calculated from a set of 175 indicators contained in all 17 SDGs. Additionally, sustainability scores are disaggregated along the three pillars - social (1-5, 10, 16, and 17), environmental (6, 13-15) and economic (7-9, 11, and 12). The results highlight the positive performance of northern regions and, in particular, of Trentino Alto Adige, which ranks first in the two considered scenarios. In addition, the relevance of territorial specificities emerges for which the analysis of individual SDGs shows different leading regions. It is noteworthy to highlight the performance of the environmental sub-group of SDGs in southern regions, in contrast to the social and economic sub-groups. Evidently, policy actions are needed to reduce the long-lasting North/South divide-yet the highlighted heterogeneous sustainability performance along the three dimensions calls for well targeted policy measures necessary to regain competitiveness at a European and global level, without compromising with environmental sustainability.
The article considers the possibilities of assessing the competitiveness of enterprises of Territorial Administrative Unit (ATU) Gagauzia in the wine industry. The comprehensive assessment method was ...used for the competitiveness analysis of the financial indicators, which allows carrying out a comparative analysis of the financial condition, and as a result, of the competitiveness among specific selected enterprises. The proposed method is based on the rating assessment and includes: selection of the main financial indicators based on which the assessment will be carried out; calculation of indicators for the enterprises under study; compilation of a matrix of standardized indicators; assignment of rating indicators to each enterprise. The application of the proposed competitiveness analysis method allows not only to assess the financial condition and competitiveness of each enterprise from the selected sector, but also to identify the leader among them in the studied market segment, as well as to determine the position of each enterprise from the sample compared to the reference one.
Abstract
The development of regions, their features and the possibility of a balanced growth of the economy of the regions are relevant for all countries. The ability to evenly and steadily develop ...the region and use the available resources is the basis of any management strategy. The choice of management model in the development of the region is influenced by a number of factors, among which are the limited resources, the level of development of the region and its general condition, scientific and technological progress, labor resources, transport links and other factors. The purpose of the study is to identify the most progressive and promising for investment areas of the Odessa region and depressive ones, which will allow implementing the region’s development strategy more efficiently and taking into account the needs of depressed regions.
The purpose of this study is to describe the strategy pursued by the Government of Thailand in collaboration with existing stakeholders in increasing the competitiveness of SMEs amidst the invasion ...of foreign manufacture-based products. The method used is observation and in-depth interviews at SME product canters, SME product marketing places in tourist destinations, and related parties. Observations were made for 5 years 2018-2023, however, in-depth observations were made in January-March 2023. The results of the analysis show that the competitiveness of SMEs in Thailand is very good due to support from universities, private businessmen (Ventura capital), the government: (innovation support organizations, and state-owned entrepreneurs), large companies in the form of CSR, and various parties who are very concerned about advancing SMEs. SMEs that already have high competitiveness with quality products, will be encouraged to move up to a class that is ready to export. Only SMEs that already have "four stars" are allowed to export because the quality of their products is beyond doubt and can even be proud of.
Hydrogen is a promising energy carrier with the potential to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and provide a stable energy supply; however, economic feasibility and supply stability limit its use. ...Hydrogen production technology (HPT) may be the key to overcoming these. Here, we explore HPT life cycle and strength characteristics to assess commercialization readiness using diverse analyses such as patents. Our findings show that HPT has matured and strengthened its competitiveness. However—despite the maturity—many challenges are required for commercialization success: the factor that might bridge this gap is securing price competitiveness. This study highlights the technological competitiveness of electrolysis has overtaken that of reforming and gasification. However, electrolysis has yet to achieve successful commercialization since it does not have appropriate price competitiveness. Therefore we argue for the immediate need to develop various technological methods—such as improved systems with cost-effective electrocatalysts—should be met for large-scale electrolysis commercialization.
