It also analyzes whether gender perspective is included in the existing or proposed prostitution policies. By using critical frame analysis, the paper identifies 5 dominant policy frames: public peace and order frame, protection of sexual freedoms frame, public health frame, gender-based violence frame, and sex work frame. The factthat prostitution is rarely discussed, and that only a limited number of actors deal with the issue, suggests that prostitution in Croatia is still understood as a taboo. The lack of discussion on prostitution in policy documents produced by the Government, and continuation of the inherited criminalization model suggests that political elites support the public peace and order frame. Only NGOs and the Ombudswoman for Gender Equality of the Republic of Croatia elaborate the issue of prostitution and advocate for a change in the existing legal and policy framework. However, only NGOs working on harm reduction include the voice of persons involved in prostitution. Keywords: prostitution, Croatia, critical frame analysis, gender
This study delves into the dynamics of relationship satisfaction (RS) among married couples and its crucial significance for mental health and psychological well-being. Survey data encompassing ...variables such as the general mattering scale, gender inequality in Household Chores scale, kansas marital conflict scale, and relationship assessment scale were gathered from 128 married individuals aged 18 to 65 in urban areas of Malaysia and Indonesia. Participants furnished demographic information including age, gender, and marriage duration. The study variables were assessed through the scales mentioned earlier. The findings, derived from bootstrap analysis involving 5,000 samples at a 95% confidence interval, revealed that the extent of partners' involvement in household chores significantly predicted their perception of gender equality in domestic responsibilities. This perception, in turn, fostered an elevated sense of mattering, thereby contributing to heightened relationship satisfaction. Importantly, the general mattering scale served as a significant mediator in the relationship between partner's household involvement and relationship satisfaction. In summary, couples benefit from partners engaging in domestic chores, resulting in an enhanced sense of mutual significance, greater relationship satisfaction, and improved mental well-being. Marital conflict frequency and intensity did not emerge as significant factors in this relationship.
This essay explores how the comic medium fosters transnational, female empowerment and solidarity through the analysis of two graphic novels written by artists from opposite sides of the Atlantic. ...Las mujeres mueven montañas (2019), by Pepita Sandwich (Josefina Guarracino, Argentina), traces the accomplishments of fourteen exceptional women throughout recent history. The second narrative, Estamos todas bien (2017), by Ana Penyas (Spain), describes the lives of two women, Penyas's grandmothers, who lived in Spain under the Franco dictatorship. By drawing upon theories of memory studies and the comic as a form of documentary and testimony, this essay demonstrates how these graphic narratives provide a platform that creates a unified genealogy of women across the globe through the retelling of the past.
