Following the fall of the Soviet Union, Cuba faced a crisis that forced it to change its housing approach. Self-help building programs began to supplant the construction of mass standardized housing ...estates. The Community Architect Program was developed to provide design advice to self-help builders, and it expanded exponentially within a decade. By the year 2000, all municipalities across Cuba had their own Community Architect Office. White the approach of the Community Architect Program has been hailed a breakthrough in the fields of planning and architecture, the particular case of Old Havana suggests that several obstacles prevent residents from benefiting from its services. The author identifies the strengths and limitations of the approach by looking at two home renovation projects in Old Havana and the perceptions of tow-income residents on the work done by community architects. This research indicates that participatory design methods should be complemented by community-based initiatives that address other aspects of the housing development process, such as access to materials, construction, and construction management.

The validity of the media is done by expert content and media expert. The media trials were tested to the twelfth grade students of Office Administration at SMK Muhammadiyah Malang 5 Kepanjen. The results of the media validation experts reached 71.20% that stated the media is good enough worth learning to be used and the results of the validation of material experts reached78.75%, which states that the media is well tobe used for the learning process. The average value of the posttest for the experimental class was 80.00 and 64.00 for the control class, meaning that the difference in student learning outcomes between the experimental class and the control class. Abstrak : Media pembelajaran e-modul berbasis Adobe InDesign merupakan sarana pembelajaran berupa buku digital yang bersifat interaktif dalam penggunaan selama proses pembelajaran. Penelitian pengembangan ini menggunakan model pengembangan Borg & Gall, yang terdiri dari 7 tahap pengembangan, yaitu penelitian dan pengumpulan informasi, pengembangan bentuk awal produk, uji coba tahap awal, merevisi produk, uji lapangan terbatas, Revisi produk, dan uji lapangan operasional. Penelitian dilakukan pada siswa kelas XII di SMK Muhamadiyah 3 Kepanjen Malang..Validasi media dilakukan oleh ahli materi dan ahli media. Hasil validasi ahli media mencapai 71,20% yang menyatakan media pembelajaran e-modul cukup layak untuk digunakan dan hasil validasi ahli materi mencapai 78,75% yang menyatakan bahwa media layak untuk digunakan dalam kegiatan pembelajaran. Hasil belajar diketahui dengan membandingkan rata-rata nilai uji Posttest pada kelas eksperimen dengan kelas control Nilai uji tes pada kelas ekperimen rata rata adalah 80,00 dan pada kelas kontrol rata rata sebesar 64,00.
High quality text preparing using computer desktop publishing systems usually uses line-breaking algorithm which cannot make provision for line heights and typeset paragraph accurately when ...composition width, page break, line index or other object appears. This article deals with enhancing of line-breaking algorithm based on optimum-fit algorithm. This algorithm is enhanced with calculation of immediate typesetting width and thus solves problem of forced change. Line-breaking algorithm enhancement causes expansion potentialities of high-quality typesetting in cases that have not been yet covered with present typesetting systems.
