For a long time, specialized languages have been an important and popular area of linguistic research. So far, research works have been based on defining and dividing certain specialized languages in ...order to describe their complex structure or processes which influence them. This approach is also applied in the analysis of technical vocabulary which is considered as an integral part of every specialized language. In the world of continuous changes people need new terms for current phenomena, processes and products. In this particular aspect, word formation has a specific role as it provides people with the opportunity to fill in the gaps in onomastics. This statement is also true when it comes to medical language where many medical terms function as multiple nominal compounds. Maciej Choromański presents those areas of research in his monograph. In the theoretical part, the author provides the characteristics of the main rules of word formation processes and points at the issue of forming compounds. Then, the description of specialized languages and medical language is given. The empirical part is devoted to the analysis of multiple nominal compounds in medical nomenclature of contemporary German. The author’s research includes morphological, spatial, semantical and orthographical criteria. Describing all aspects mentioned above, allows the following monograph to be considered not only as a set of clues about the word formation system, but also as a reference to the context of specialized language. This work can serve as a valuable complement to current publications on that topic.

Linguistic terms, objects, notions and points of view: correlation issues.
The present work aims to analyze some structural and epistemological issues of linguistic terminology in French. Through a semantic approach, we highlight the peculiarities of the terminological meaning, its correlation with the scientific notion and its dependence on the object of linguistic research – on the linguistic fact itself. The case study of the terms phrase, sémantème, langue among others shows the importance of the "play" of points of view in the linguistic domain contributing to the modification of the meaning extension and intension. In order to solve revealed problems, we use the approaches of general terminology as well as the application of epistemological theories to distinguish between concepts of terminology and terminological system, terms and preterms, aspectual terms and synthesizing terms, intersystemic and intrasystemic relations.
We experimentally investigate how jargon affects investment willingness for investors with different industry knowledge, and whether such effects vary with good or bad jargon. We find that for ...investors without industry knowledge, jargon decreases investment willingness because it decreases understanding. However, for investors with some but low industry knowledge, jargon increases investment willingness because it increases perceived product premium. Such effects exist whether good or bad jargon is used. Finally, investors with high industry knowledge differentiate between good and bad jargon, and reduce investment willingness only when bad jargon is used. These findings have implications for regulators, managers, and investors.
To ensure a systematic review is valuable to users, authors should prepare a transparent, complete, and accurate account of why the review was done, what they did (such as how studies were identified ...and selected) and what they found (such as characteristics of contributing studies and results of meta-analyses). ...technological advances have enabled the use of natural language processing and machine learning to identify relevant evidence 22,23,24, methods have been proposed to synthesise and present findings when meta-analysis is not possible or appropriate 25,26,27, and new methods have been developed to assess the risk of bias in results of included studies 28, 29. ...the publishing landscape has transformed, with multiple avenues now available for registering and disseminating systematic review protocols 33, 34, disseminating reports of systematic reviews, and sharing data and materials, such as preprint servers and publicly accessible repositories. ...extensions to the PRISMA 2009 statement have been developed to guide reporting of network meta-analyses 49, meta-analyses of individual participant data 50, systematic reviews of harms 51, systematic reviews of diagnostic test accuracy studies 52, and scoping reviews 53; for these types of reviews we recommend authors report their review in accordance with the recommendations in PRISMA 2020 along with the guidance specific to the extension.
