The present article offers an art-historical analysis of the indulgence letter issued in Avignon on 6 November 1347 for the monastery of Kostanjevica in present-day Slovenia. It is believed that a ...workshop responsible for writing and decorating indulgence letters was organized in Avignon after the Popes moved there from Rome, and several iconographic and stylistic affinities speak in favour of the Kostanjevica charter being decorated precisely in this work environment. The Avignon workshop supposedly expanded in the 1340s, which presumably led to the division of labour within the workshop, meaning that one charter’s decoration could be the result of a joint effort. The present article discusses possible evidence to corroborate or reject this statement in the case of the Kostanjevica indulgence letter.
A recent slip-rate of an active fault is a very important seismotectonic parameter, but not easy to determine. Idrija fault, 120 km long, is a prominent geomorphologic feature with large seismogenic ...potential, still needed to be researched. Measurements of tectonic micro-displacements can provide insight into its recent activity. The Učja valley extends transversally to the Idrija fault and was therefore selected for the installation of TM 71 extensometer. Measurements on the crack within its inner fault zone are conducted from the year 2004. In 14 years of observations a systematic horizontal displacements with average rate of 0.21 mm/year and subordinate vertical displacements of 0.06 mm/year were established, proving the activity of this fault. An overview of methods of displacement measurements related to active faults and of newer interdisciplinary investigations of the Idrija fault is given. Displacement rates are beside for geodynamic interpretations important for improvement of seismotectonic models and thus for better seismic hazard assessment.

EXTENDED DESCRIPTION: Forma viva v Kostanjevici.
Forma Viva is an international project of 'live' sculptures in the open-air that involves sculptors from all over the world, and who have enriched the cultural treasures of Slovenia with around 300 sculptures, just as in Kostanjevica with more than 100 sculptors, where they all are exhibited in natural surroundings within the gardens of a former monastery and in the very heart of the city and surrounding areas. Five artists from Austria, England, Japan, Romania and Yugoslavia have participated this year (1974) at Forma Viva in Kostanjevica. With the carving of oak trunks and leaving behind an artistic sculpture, artists are expressing their current perception of art and projecting their vision of life. There is no doubt that Kostanjevica na Krki established its name as an artistic part of the world as in 1974 the number of its visitors reached 100,000 people and 68 artists donated their sculptures to it, which led to the opening of a unique wood gallery. At the same time a number of cultural events, from drama, opera and ballet performances to concert performances with the selected schedule are also taking place. The sounds of hammers and chisels, with which the sculptors create their visions of the world during summer months, have undoubtedly put this part of Slovenia to the art map.- Information:- Forma Viva in Kostanjevica is an international project of 'live' sculptures in the open-air that involves sculptors from all over the world.- Original language summary:
