Clematis chinensis (family: Ranunculaceae) is a deciduous climbing plant having multipurpose use in traditional Chinese medicine, but the use of molecular markers in Clematis chinensis is yet to gain ...momentum. Recently EST-SSRs are the free by-product of the currently growing EST databases. SSRs (microsatellites) have been extensively used as molecular marker in several genetic studies. The present study reports the frequency of SSRs and appropriate primers for the C. chinensis EST sequences. The EST sequences of C. chinensis were obtained from NCBI database and screened for the presence of SSRs. MISA tool was used to predict the microsatellites and Primer3 plus software was used for designing the primers. By using the MISA tool a total of 155 SSRs were identified in contigs and 275 SSRs were identified in singletones. Occurrence of trinucleotide repeats were most abundant both in contigs (52.3%) and singletones (41.5%) followed by dinucleotides. Maximum trinucleotide motifs code for Leucine (CTT) followed by glutamic acid (GAA) and Serine (TCT) i.e., whereas in singleton sequences glutamic acid (GAA) is dominated followed by glutamine (CAA) and asparagine (AAC). AG/CT was the most recurrent repeat of dinucleotide. We also - designed 60 primers flanking the SSR repeats. The identified SSRs and their related markers can be used in future studies of linkage mapping, comparative genomics study, genetic diversity analysis and different breeding programs in Clematis chinensis.

Multidataset independent subspace analysis (MISA) unifies multiple linear blind source separation methods to analyze joint and unique information across multiple datasets. MISA can jointly analyze ...large multimodal neuroimaging datasets to advance our understanding of the brain from multiple perspectives. However, a systematic evaluation of the trade-offs between problem scale and sample size is still absent in the literature. Aiming to support flexibility and replicability of deep latent variable modeling, and equip practitioners with crucial tools and usage guidelines, we developed a MISA PyTorch module incorporating the linked multi-network architecture and loss function of the original MISA MATLAB. We then investigated critical performance trade-offs between latent space and sample sizes in independent vector analysis (IVA) problems. Both platforms were highly similar in hundreds of simulation settings, demonstrating successful replication of the original framework and flexibility to evaluate multiple configurations. We observed that a larger sample size, fewer datasets and fewer sources can lead to better IVA model performance. We then performed an IVA experiment on a large multimodal neuroimaging dataset and observed high cross-modal correlation linkage among the identified sources in both platforms, supporting MISA's effectiveness for replicable multimodal linkage detection.

Background
Microsatellites or simple sequence repeats (SSR) consist of 1–6 nucleotide motifs of DNA or RNA which are ubiquitously present in tandem repeated sequences across genome in viruses: ...prokaryotes and eukaryotes. They may be localized to both the coding and non-coding regions. SSRs play an important role in replication, gene regulation, transcription, and protein function. The Caliciviridae (CLV) family of viruses have ss-RNA, non-enveloped, icosahedral symmetry 27–35 nm in diameter in size. The size of the genome lies between 6.4 and 8.6 kb.
Results
The incidence, composition, diversity, complexity, and host range of different microsatellites in 62 representatives of the family of Caliciviridae were systematically analyzed. The full-length genome sequences were assessed from NCBI (
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov
), and microsatellites were extracted through MISA software. The average genome size is about 7538 bp ranging from 6273 (CLV61) to 8798 (CLV47) bp. The average GC content of the genomes was ~ 51%. There are a total of 1317 SSRs and 53 cSSRs in the studied genomes. CLV 41 and CLV 49 contain the highest and lowest value of SSRs with 32 and 10 respectively, while CLV16 had maximum cSSR incidence of 4. There were 29 species which do not contain any cSSR. The incidence of mono-, di-, and tri-nucleotide SSRs was 219, 884, and 206, respectively. The most prevalent mono-, di-, and tri-nucleotide repeat motifs were “C” (126 SSRs), AC/CA (240 SSRs), and TGA/ACT (23 SSRs), respectively. Most of the SSRs and cSSRs are biased toward the coding region with a minimum of ~ 90% incident SSRs in the genomes’ coding region. Viruses with similar host are found close to each other on the phylogenetic tree suggesting virus host being one of the driving forces for their evolution.
Conclusions
The Caliciviridae genomes does not conform to any pattern of SSR signature in terms of incidence, composition, and localization. This unique property of SSR plays an important role in viral evolution. Clustering of similar host in the phylogenetic tree is the evidence of the uniqueness of SSR signature.

La muestra de 148 adolescentes de cuarto y quinto de secundaria, de ambos sexos, de 14 a 17 años, se dividió en dos grupos según su frecuencia de asistencia a misa. Se utilizó el inventario de cociente emocional para adoles- centes (EQ-i:YV) de Bar-On, adaptado a la población peruana. Los estudiantes católicos practicantes obtuvieron mejores puntajes en la prueba y en todas sus dimensiones o subescalas. La prueba t de Student demostró diferencias significativas en inteligencia emocional-social y en dos de sus dimensiones: interpersonal y manejo del estrés, a favor de los estudiantes católicos practicantes.
We introduce multimodal subspace independent vector analysis (MSIVA), a methodology to capture both joint and unique latent sources across data modalities by defining shared and modality-specific ...subspaces. We compared MSIVA to a unimodal analysis (UA) baseline and tested both methods with four distinct subspace structures on synthetic and multimodal neuroimaging datasets. We demonstrated that both approaches can identify and distinguish the correct subspace structures from incorrect ones on synthetic datasets. We then showed that MSIVA can better capture the subspace structures across two neuroimaging modalities. Results from subsequent per-subspace canonical correlation analysis and brain-phenotype modeling showed that the sources from the optimal subspace structure are significantly associated with phenotype measures including age and sex.
Shelf sea areas are the primary oceanic source for methane release, the most abundant hydrocarbon in the atmosphere. As such, the southern North Sea's methane concentration is mainly determined by ...river runoff and tidal marshes. Within such a highly variable temperate estuary, this study is the first to reveal detailed information on the in situ activity, abundance and community structure of methane oxidizing bacteria along a transect from the marine environment near Helgoland island to the riverine harbor of Hamburg, Germany. The in situ methane oxidation rate was determined with a radio tracer, and methane concentration with the head-space method. Abundance and diversity of the methanotrophic bacterial community in the water column was assessed with quantitative polymerase chain reaction for the particulate methane monooxygenase and monooxygenase intergenic spacer analysis. Median abundances ranged from 2.8 × 104 cells l-1 in the marine environment to 7.5 × 105 cells l-1 in the riverine environment. Except for salinity, no conclusive linear correlation between any environmental parameter and the abundance of methanotrophs could be determined. Relating activity with abundance of methanotrophs showed that about 70% of the population accounted for is inactive, especially in the coastal and marine environment. This study found distinct operational taxonomic unit (OTU) community compositions among the 3 environmental categories (river, coast, marine). Several identified OTUs have been reported previously and imply a wide geographic occurrence. Overall, we propose that salinity is the most important driver in shaping differing methanotrophic communities in the riverine, coastal and marine environment.
The cultivated tomato is second most consumed vegetable of the world and is an important part of a diverse and balanced diet as a rich source of vitamins, minerals, phenolic antioxidants and ...antioxidant lycopene having anti-cancer properties. To reap benefit of genomics of the domestic tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.) unravelled by Tomato Genome Consortium (The Tomato Genome Consortium, 2012), the bulk mining of its markers in totality is imperative and critically required. The solgenomics has limited number of microsatellite DNA markers (2867) pertaining to solanaceae family. As these markers are of linkage map having relative distance, the choice of selected markers based on absolute distance as of physical map is missing. Only limited microsatellite markers with limitations are reported for variety identification thus there is a need for more markers supplementing DUS test and also for traceability of product in global market. Besides abiotic stress, tomato is known to have biotic stress due to its susceptibility over 200 diseases caused by pathogenic fungi, bacteria, viruses and nematodes. These markers are expected to pave the way of germplasm management over abiotic and biotic stress as well as improvement through molecular breeding, leading to increased tomato productivity in India as well as other parts of the world. In era of IPR the new variety can be identified based on allelic variation among varieties supplementing DUS test and product traceability.
