This article describes the process faculty used to implement National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) Next Generation NCLEX-RN (NGN) test item writing at an urban southeast U.S. ADN program. Attendance at several NGN workshops included learning the clinical reasoning and test question composition process and incorporating NGN test items for use in the formative evaluation process which determines student proficiency in content in the ADN program. These methods integrated by faculty should help the nursing student attain the knowledge, skills, abilities, and reflection to improve critical thinking and ensure competent clinical judgment at the entry level in their careers as registered nurses. Additionally, incorporating NGN using the Clinical Judgment Measurement Model (CJMM) will preclude the potential failure by new graduates to recognize patient complications coupled with the inability to act to rescue patients. The goal for nursing programs implementing NGN is for new graduates delivering competent nursing care, intervening early, and reducing the incidence of patient harm.

No one can deny the fast evolution of telecommunication systems, which aims to achieve a total convergence between various existing technologies and to offer seamless mobility intertechnologies and ...interoperators to the end users. Next-generation networks (NGNs) illustrate this evolution and include network systems since the advent of the third generation. Now, the focus is gradually shifting toward the further Release 10 of the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) named LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) known as the fourth-generation (4G) network. Many researches have advanced on improving the effectiveness of the 3GPP LTE-A network, in terms of optimizing mobility management process, radio resources management, security, etc. In this paper, we deal with the congestion control challenge. We present a new scheme for congestion control in 3GPP LTE-A networks. Our scheme consists of three phases: congestion prevention, congestion detection, and congestion notification. Moreover, it is combined with the vertical handover process, when making the handover decision, as well as the selection of the target network. Performance of the proposed mechanism, when analyzed using the simulation studies, reveals an increase in the signalization rate of only 3% compared to when the congestion control is turned off. In addition, simulation results show a high level of available resources use and a low packet drop rate.

The Neural Gas Networks (NGN) is considered one of the most and popular algorithms in most researches. It is considered the fastest neural and it is more practical such as the other neural methods. ...Recently, it has achieved the fast and best result in a lot of researches. In this paper, we propose NGN to extract the features of brain cancer detection and then we are classifying the features by using Adaptive Neuro Fuzzy Inference system (ANFIS). Actually, this method consists of two main parts, the first part is the segmentation process using K-means cluster and the second part is based on extracting features from MRI cancer brain images based on NGN. After that, we applied Adaptive Neuro Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) for classification and prediction. Finally, the ANFIS method achieved accuracy from 85% up to 96%.

З появою мультисервісних мереж з’явилися інтелектуальні сервіси (INS) і, відповідно, новий тип трафіку. Протягом довгого часу вважалося, що мережний трафік відповідає пуасонівським процесам, але ...подальші дослідження довели, що в трафіку деяких мереж наявний ефект самоподібності. Через властивості самоподібного трафіку традиційні методи розрахунку характеристик функціонування мереж дають занадто оптимістичні результати і призводять до недооцінки реального навантаження. Виникає актуальне питання визначення наявності ефекту самоподібності трафіку, що містить заявки на INS, а також урахування цього ефекту при формуванні аналітичної моделі інтелектуальної надбудови NGN (Next Generation Network). Саме цим питанням присвячена дана робота. На основі аналізу існуючих методів розрахунку показника Херста, що надає можливість визначити характер трафіку, обрано R/S метод, оскільки його використання дозволяє аналізувати велику кількість даних, а також не містить занадто великого обсягу обчислень. Даний метод реалізований за допомогою програми AutoSignal. Виходячи з аналізу отриманих результатів можна стверджувати, що трафік, що містить заявки на INS – це самоподібний процес. Ефект самоподібності проявляється в широкому діапазоні часу – від декількох годин до року. Проведені дослідження характеру трафіку визначили можливість вирішення актуальної задачі – розробки аналітичної моделі інтелектуальної надбудови NGN, яка відповідає за управління наданням INS, з урахуванням самоподібності трафіку. Для побудови аналітичної моделі інтелектуальної надбудови було використано апарат теорії масового обслуговування. Запропонована аналітична модель інтелектуальної надбудови, яка ураховує самоподібність потоку заявок на INS, надає можливість визначити потрібні мережні ресурси для забезпечення необхідного значення ефективності управління наданням INS.
Objective
To study the relationships between newly graduated nurses’ (NGNs’) perceptions of their professional competence, and individual and organizational work‐related factors.
Methods
A ...multivariate, quantitative, descriptive, correlation design was applied. Data collection took place in November 2012 with a national convenience sample of 318 NGNs representing all main healthcare settings in Finland. Five instruments measured NGNs’ perceptions of their professional competence, occupational commitment, empowerment, practice environment, and its ethical climate, with additional questions on turnover intentions, job satisfaction, and demographics. Descriptive statistics summarized the demographic data, and inferential statistics multivariate path analysis modeling estimated the relationships between the variables.
Results
The strongest relationship was found between professional competence and empowerment, competence explaining 20% of the variance of empowerment. The explanatory power of competence regarding practice environment, ethical climate of the work unit, and occupational commitment, and competence's associations with turnover intentions, job satisfaction, and age, were statistically significant but considerably weaker. Higher competence and satisfaction with quality of care were associated with more positive perceptions of practice environment and its ethical climate as well as higher empowerment and occupational commitment.
Conclusions
Apart from its association with empowerment, competence seems to be a rather independent factor in relation to the measured work‐related factors. Further exploration would deepen the knowledge of this relationship, providing support for planning educational and developmental programs. Research on other individual and organizational factors is warranted to shed light on factors associated with professional competence in providing high‐quality and safe care as well as retaining new nurses in the workforce.
Clinical Relevance
The study sheds light on the strength and direction of the significantly associated work‐related factors. Nursing professional bodies, managers, and supervisors can use the findings in planning orientation programs and other occupational interventions for NGNs.
Quality of Service (QoS) refers to techniques that function on a network to dependably execute high-priority applications and traffic reliably run high-priority applications and traffic even when the ...network’s capacity is limited. It is expected that data transmission over next-generation WSNs (Wireless Sensor Networks) 5G (5th generation) and beyond will increase significantly, especially for multimedia content such as video. Installing multiple IoT (Internet of Things refers to the network of devices that are all connected to each other) nodes on top of 5G networks makes the design more challenging. Maintaining a minimal level of service quality becomes more challenging as data volume and network density rise. QoS is critical in modern networks because it ensures critical performance metrics and improves end-user experience. Every client attempts to fulfill QoS access needs by selecting the optimal access device(s). Controllers will then identify optimum routes to meet clients’ core QoS needs in their core network. QoS-aware delivery is one of the most important aspects of wireless communications. Various models are proposed in the literature; however, an adaptive buffer size according to service type, priority, and incoming communication requests is required to ensure QoS-aware wireless communication. This article offers a hybrid end-to-end QoS delivery method involving customers and controllers and proposes a QoS-aware service delivery model for various types of communication with an adaptive buffer size according to the priority of the incoming service requests. For this purpose, this paper evaluates various QoS delivery models devised for service delivery in real time over IP networks. Multiple vulnerabilities are outlined that weaken QoS delivery in different models. Performance optimization is needed to ensure QoS delivery in next-generation WSN networks. This paper addresses the shortcomings of the existing service delivery models for real-time communication. An efficient queuing mechanism is adopted that assigns priorities based on input data type and queue length. This queuing mechanism ensures QoS efficiency in limited bandwidth networks and real-time traffic. The model reduces the over-provisioning of resources, delay, and packet loss ratio. The paper contributes a symmetrically-designed traffic engineering model for QoS-ensured service delivery for next-generation WSNs. A dynamic queuing mechanism that assigns priorities based on input data type and queue length is proposed to ensure QoS for wireless next-generation networks. The proposed queuing mechanism discusses topological symmetry to ensure QoS efficiency in limited bandwidth networks with real-time communication. The experimental results describe that the proposed model reduces the over-provisioning of resources, delay, and packet loss ratio.
