The topic of the article is the image of Polish kings and nobility in Roman Iwanyczuk’s historical prose. The analysis was conducted on the basis of three works written at the turn of the 1970s and ...1980s. They are only a fragment of the rich literary heritage ofthe famous Ukrainian novelist. Ciemnoczerwone wino (Черлене вино) takes the reader to the 15th century, to Galicia‑Volhynia, which was threatened with polonization. Manuskrypt z ulicy Ruskiej (Манускрипт з вулиці Руської) shows the origin of the idea of the liberation war, the future Chmielnicki Uprising, in Lviv at the turn of the 16th and 18th century. The novel Woda z kamienia (Вода з каменю) presents the beginnings of the Ukrainian national revival in Galicia and the history of the Ruthenian Trinity, with its leader Markian Szaszkewicz. The cyclicality and connections between novels, gives Iwanyczuk’s work spatiotemporal continuity, which encompasses, above all, historical events and figures. The analyzed works present a clearly negative image of the representatives of Polish society, which results from the stereotypical approach to the perception of a Pole in the 20th century Ukrainian literature. Polish rulers and nobility are portrayed through the prism of Polish‑Ukrainian relations at socio‑political, religious and ideological level.
COGNITIVE ETHNOLINGUISTICS: TOWARDS THE INTEGRAL DESCRIPTION OF LANGUAGE
The history of ethnolinguistics is, among other things, the history of the evolution of the idea of integrating hitherto ...isolated levels of research and types of data that are used in analyses. This paper discusses four views important for ethnolinguistics: on the unity of language and culture; about the importance of the cognitive function of language; about the need to use a broad material base inresearch; about recognizing that the ultimate goal of ethnolinguistic research is to reach the way of conceptualization of the world by the speaker, his mentality and the world of values.

In the interpretation of the Bible among Christians of the Orient, i.e. in the ancient Oriental exegesis, the historical sense is relevant, as history reveals Jesus to us. He is present, as the ...School of Alexandria describes, in the entire Bible, on its every page, but He is not veiled by allegory – He is present through time, having its special place in the revelation of the Word. Using types and images to explain certain points in the Bible is related to the concept of theological language in which types and images inscribed in the Holy Bible play an important role in our way of talking about God. They are elements that, by definition, should form the theological discourse. Certain elements of this exegesis are similar to concepts both of the School of Antioch and that of Alexandria, although, from the point of view of its basic assumptions and axioms, it is completely different. In many aspects, it is close to Judaism against which it fights so intensely, as many of its concepts are inspired by the heritage of the Jewish Diaspora of the Middle East.

In modern society body plays significant role, thus becoming a great value. As young and healthy body is promoted, the majority of research explorations focuses on young people. However, due to ...ageing societies, more and more researchers investigate the problem of experiencing one’s body by middle-aged and elderly people. The main aim of this paper is to analyse the research on body in a group of elderly people. Also, the article attempts to answer the question as to what extent the cult of body can refer to this group. The results of research are often contradictory and it is difficult to clearly indicate how satisfaction with body changes across the life span and to what extent health and fitness become more important than looking attractive in elderly people.
The Image of Rural Community Preserved in the Names of Sons and Daughters. Tradition and Change (Based on the Villages of the Dukla Region in the Low Beskids) The goals of the present article are to ...reconstruct the linguistic image of the rural community of the Dukla region, preserved in the names of sons and daughters living in the 20th and 21st centuries; as well as to present the direction and rate of changes that take place in this dialect in the formation of analysed anthroponyms. The analysis of the material reveals a dynamic image of the rural community which undergoes significant changes in consequent generations. The names of descendants from the beginning of the 20th century preserved the image of a traditional village that kept true to the fathers’ traditions. The names of further generations of sons and daughters expose a community which, gradually but visibly, loses its language and culture. This refers also to the descendants’ names created with word formation that were consistently removed from the analysed dialect at the turn of the 20th and 21st centuries. As a result, the next generations will probably use the syntactic structure: name + preposition od ‘to’ + gen. sg. of the personal name.
