The increasing use of the Internet worldwide has led many institutions to consider an online presence as a necessity. The Internet has become a part of everyday life for many institutions, most of ...whom use it to interact and communicate with others. Public institutions have resorted to the implementation of integrated digital systems to facilitate their work and to be able to interact with the public much better through the Internet. The pandemic with the new coronavirus brought with it the digital development of public institutions, thus creating new intelligent communication systems with an automatic response. An important advantage of online communication in public institutions is that it allows access to people from various places around the world with just a few clicks of a button. No matter where we are, we can only interact with people from other parts of the globe with a simple internet connection
In 19th-century Leipzig, Toronto, New York, and Boston, a newly emergent
group of industrialists and entrepreneurs entered into competition with older
established elite groups for social recognition ...as well as cultural and political
leadership. The competition was played out on the field of philanthropy, with the
North American community gathering ideas from Europe about the establishment of
cultural and public institutions. For example, to secure financing for their new
museum, the founders of the Metropolitan Museum of Art organized its membership and
fundraising on the model of German art museums. The process of cultural borrowing
and intercultural transfer shaped urban landscapes with the building of new
libraries, museums, and social housing projects. An important contribution to the
relatively new field of transnational history, this book establishes philanthropy as
a prime example of the conversion of economic resources into social and cultural
capital.
Using insights from institutional theory, sociology, and entrepreneurship we develop and test a model of the relationship between centralized and decentralized institutions on entrepreneurial ...activity. We suggest that both decentralized institutions that are socially determined as well as centralized institutions that are designed by governmental authorities are important in promoting firm foundings in the environmental context. In a sample of the U.S. solar energy sector we find that state-sponsored incentives, environmental consumption norms, and norms of family interdependence are related to new firm entry in this sector. Our findings also suggest that the efficacy of state-level policies in the sponsoring of entrepreneurial growth is dependent upon the social norms that prevail in the entrepreneur's environment. We expand entrepreneurship theory and the study of institutions and the natural environment by demonstrating the integral role that social norms play in influencing the creation of new firms and by illustrating the potential effect social norms have on the effect of policy that seeks to encourage environmentally responsible economic activity.
The study's objective was to determine the relationships between the proposed variables that impact to the Job Satisfaction, Organizational Commitment and Burnout through the Psychological ...Empowerment mediator variable. The variables proposed as impact factors were Structural Empowerment and Remunerations for the case of teachers from public middle-higher education institutions in Mexico. The study had a non-experimental design, being a correlational and causal research. The measurement instrument was applied to a sample of 167 teachers, whose data were analyzed using the structural equations method. The findings show which of these direct and indirect effects are generating significant effects. Subsequently, the analysis of the contrast and impact differences between the segmentation groups was proposed: by gender, marital status, schooling and employment status. One limitation was to carry out the cross-sectional study, with the data collected in a single moment. It is recommended to continue with the analysis of Burnout in other contexts and organizational areas.
In the 7th edition of PMBOK the Tailoring process is legitimized as an essential ally in project management, since it makes several adjustments throughout the project's life cycle to provide the best ...possible environment to achieve the deliverables and the value added to the organization. Tailoring as a principle further highlights the unique nature of each project and the need to carry out this process continuously. Based on a unique case study, the beginning of the management functions in a sector of a public organization is discussed, as well as the adaptations made to optimize the workflow and productivity in the deliverables. From this investigation results the proposal of a framework adapted to the needs of the institution, as a starting point for the professionalization of project management.
The article discusses the concept of value-based management adapted to the specificity of public cultural institutions. The adaptation process involves mainly the consideration of the advantages ...generated by cultural institutions and the application of a discount rate in social calculations. The presented concept makes it possible to assess the social rationale behind the activity of non-commercial cultural institutions. In order to explain the suggested solutions better, a numerical example illustrating the methodology covered in the paper has been used. The creation of a justice in the life of the nation and state must be supported by regulations that do not conflict with other regulations. The prohibition to join a political party for ...administrators of public institutions is in conflict with higher regulations. The article is considered contrary to the principle of "Equality before the Law" when viewed from the aspect of equal concern put forward by Ronald Dworkin. The purpose of this research was to analyze the inconsistency of the prohibition article for members of public institutions to join political parties and to explain the legal implications for the public institutions when they do not comply with these regulations. The method used was normative juridical with descriptive analytical research specifications, and the type of the data were secondary data. The data analysis was conducted qualitatively. Political rights are part of the human rights owned by a person who should not be limited by discriminatory treatments. In fact, there are still restrictions on these political rights which are detrimental to a person from contributing to become the administrator of a public institution. The contents of conflicting articles cause the public institutions to have a crisis of law compliance, is actually a hierarchical harmony between laws and regulations in Indonesia.
Talent management has developed as a field of research especially in recent years to meet the challenges of the labor market, caused by global economic crises, the lack of qualified personnel in many ...fields of activity, as well as excessive migration to better-paid jobs. Initially, talent management was geared towards large organizations in the private sector, but in recent years research has also spread to the public environment. At this moment in Romania, the field is in the early stage of development, empirical research is reduced in number and there is no real concern for identifying, developing and motivating staff with special skills within public institutions. This paper contributes to the development of scientific literature in Romania by clarifying the concept of Talent Management and how it is implemented in Romanian public institutions, based on the analysis of specialized literature and qualitative analysis based on the Interview Guide applied in sixteen public institutions.
The present research aims to carry out a study on the supply of public libraries in Colombia and the variables that determine their demand. To analyze the supply, the Directory of public libraries ...carried out by the National Library of Colombia is used, and the demand for libraries is analyzed through a probit econometric model, using microdata from the Cultural Consumption Survey carried out by the National Department of Statistics (DANE). The results obtained from this research show the geographical distribution of the supply of public libraries in the country, by regions and departments, and in the analysis of the demand, it can be determined that the educational level is the most decisive factor in the use of the library public. In general, it is found that young and single people are those who are most likely to attend these spaces, as well as women and people who are inactive.
How ancient Mediterranean trade thrived through state institutions
From around 700 BCE until the first centuries CE, the Mediterranean enjoyed steady economic growth through trade, reaching a level ...not to be regained until the early modern era. This process of growth coincided with a process of state formation, culminating in the largest state the ancient Mediterranean would ever know, the Roman Empire. Subsequent economic decline coincided with state disintegration. How are the two processes related?
InTrade in the Ancient Mediterranean, Taco Terpstra investigates how the organizational structure of trade benefited from state institutions. Although enforcement typically depended on private actors, traders could utilize a public infrastructure, which included not only courts and legal frameworks but also socially cohesive ideologies. Terpstra details how business practices emerged that were based on private order, yet took advantage of public institutions.
Focusing on the activity of both private and public economic actors-from Greek city councilors and Ptolemaic officials to long-distance traders and Roman magistrates and financiers-Terpstra illuminates the complex relationship between economic development and state structures in the ancient Mediterranean.
