Victor Zhivov's Language and Culture in Eighteenth-Century Russia is one of the most important studies ever published on eighteenth-century Russia. Historians and students of Russian culture agree ...that the creation of a Russian literary language was key to the formation of a modern secular culture, and this title traces the growth of a vernacular language from the "hybrid Slavonic" of the late seventeenth century through the debates between "archaists and innovators" of the early nineteenth century. Zhivov's study is an essential work on the genesis of modern Russian culture; the aim of this translation is to make it available to historians and students of the field.
The article attempts to identify the stylistic functions of Greek origin vocabulary in Russian-language texts. The material of the study are selected works of the poet of the second quarter of the ...XIX century, Alexei Khomyakov as one of the founders of Russian philosophical thought and the Slavophil movement. The method of continuous sampling of the text selected Greekism, found in the poems of the author, regardless of the time of their penetration into the Russian language. Using contextual analysis revealed their expressive functions. Particular attention is paid to the cultural function of Greek vocabulary as a translator of Hellenistic and Byzantine cultures that have had a significant impact on Russian culture.

В качестве вспомогательного средства социальные сети обеспечивают естественное общение и ...обмен информацией, предоставляют обучающим и ученикам образовательные ресурсы, услуги по разработке материалов и организации обучения, а также создают образовательную среду в форме виртуальных сообществ для взаимодействия, где учителя и ученики активно участвуют в процессе обучения, где обучающие одновременно выступают в роли консультантов и участников коммуникации. Целью исследования является изучение отношения студентов бакалавриата вьетнамских университетов к развитию навыков устной и письменной речи русского языка с помощью социальных сетей вне стен классной комнаты. Научная новизна исследования состоит в рассмотрении способности использования социальных сетей в качестве вспомогательного инструмента по изучению русского языка во Вьетнаме. Теоретической основой послужили научно-педагогические труды по проблеме исследования. В процессе работы использовались следующие методы: анализ, синтез, систематизация, кейс-стади, анкетирование. Результаты исследования показали положительные взгляды вьетнамских студентов на развитие навыков устной и письменной речи русского языка через социальные сети вне аудитории. Было также замечено, что необходимо изменить сознание и отношение обучающих к использованию платформ социальных сетей в качестве вспомогательных средств при обучении навыкам устной и письменной речи русского языка. Кроме того, ожидается эффективное использование социальных сетей в обучении другим навыкам русского языка. С другой стороны, в виртуальной среде учащиеся могут наблюдать за реальностью использования языка в повседневной жизни, что невозможно для изучающих язык в неязыковой среде. Сделанные выводы способны послужить основой для раскрывания возможностей создать интерактивные упражнения и внедрить их в отработку навыков устной и письменной речи русского языка посредством социальных сетей во Вьетнаме. К будущим исследованиям может относиться изучение функций социальных сетей и их использование в создании системы упражнений для развития навыков русского языка; проведение глубинного интервью для оценки достижений речевых умений с помощью различных видов упражнений в социальных сетях.
Describing a culture by means of another language is a large and interesting translation task. Nowadays, this eternal problem becomes more and more relevant for traditional cultures since the quality ...of the transmitted verbal information about unique culture-specific elements also depends on the accuracy of their description. The Russian language for the peoples of the Russian Federation is the language of interethnic communication, and translating folklore and literary texts, as well as writing scientific works in Russian on the Yakut culture, allows other peoples to discover the Yakut culture. Over the four centuries of Yakut-Russian contacts, many texts describing the Yakut culture have been created in Russian. In this research, the source material is three different texts: a translation of a heroic epic, a translation of a work of fiction, and an ethnographic description of a native speaker of the Yakut language and culture written in a non-native Russian language. These texts contain the same culture-specific elements that are translated differently depending on the target audience. In the course of the research, we have found that the culturespecific elements of the Yakut culture are mainly transliterated, and commentaries on them can be different in exhaustiveness and depth. In addition, we note that traditional loan translations from the Yakut language have been established to translate various epithets and set expressions associated with folklore and mythology. Such expressions often seep into scientific texts on ethnography because traditional crafts and traditional life, in general, are inextricably linked with the spiritual culture of the people.
In this paper, the semantic roles expressed by the Dative case in Modern Russian and Old Church Slavonic are described in terms of radial categories. The corpus data shows that the radial category of ...the Dative case has changed since Old Church Slavonic. The radial category in Modern Russian is smaller, and it includes fewer subcategories than attested in Old Church Slavonic. The change of the category prototype could explain the changes in the category of the Dative case. Recipient is postulated to be the prototype of the Dative case category in Modern Russian, while Direction appeared to be the best prototype for Old Church Slavonic data.
The article presents an experience of Russian language teaching in International children’s home (Interdom). It describes pedagogical conditions which allows creating of developing environment for ...the pupils and achieving of high results of Russian language teaching in multilingual audience of pupils. The main difficulties that students encounter in the process of immersion in a new cultural and linguistic atmosphere are analyzed.
The article contains a response to critical remarks about my concept of formal status of the category of species in Russian, which were expressed in the work of E. V. Gorbova "Russian Speciation: ...Word Change, Word Classification, or Quasigrammem? (once again about the painful points of Russian Aspectology), published in the journal Questions of Linguistics (2017. No. 1, pp. 24-52). In addition, the article contains additional arguments in favor of the word classifying the interpretation of the Russian species.
Введение. Объективизация характеристик нейропатической боли является важным компонентом дифференциальной диагностики при различных заболеваниях. Шкалы и опросники – актуальные диагностические ...инструменты оценки субъективных симптомов как для пациентов, так и для медицинских работников. Цель исследования – разработка и валидация русскоязычной версии Лидской шкалы оценки нейропатической боли (LANSS). Материалы и методы. Исследование включало 2 этапа: лингвокультурную ратификацию и оценку психометрических свойств разработанной русскоязычной версии. Результаты. Показан высокий уровень надежности, валидности и чувствительности русскоязычной версии шкалы. Заключение. По результатам проведенного исследования представлена официальная валидированная русскоязычная версия шкалы, рекомендованная для применения при работе с русскоязычными пациентами.
This paper is dedicated to the manuscript “The True Origin of All Things”, which is a Russian translation of a Christian catechism, written in Chinese in early 18th century by Giulio Alenio. This ...text was translated into Russian in the 1791 by Alexey Agafonov. This study is based on comparative analysis of the original text and its Russian translation. As a result, it was established that the two versions of this text mostly coincide but there is a number of differences. Some chapters and fragments were replaced. This translation currently exists as a single copy stored at the Research Department of the Library of the Russian Academy of Sciences. This manuscript is not mentioned in any catalogues or papers or monographs on the history of Russian sinology. Статья посвящена сравнительному анализу текста христианского катехизиса «萬物真原» («Об истинном начале всех вещей»), написанного в начале XVII в. на китайском языке итальянским иезуитом, католическим миссионером в Китае Джулио Алени (1582–1649), и рукописного текста его перевода на русский язык под названием «Истинный источник всех тварей, или Книга об истинном источнике всех тварей», выполненного в 1791 г. Алексеем Агафоновым (1746–1794), учеником шестой Русской православной миссии в Пекине. В результате проведенного исследования было установлено, что между рассматриваемыми текстами имеется ряд различий. Это выражается прежде всего в том, что в тексте перевода катехизиса переставлены несколько глав и некоторые отдельные фрагменты текста, отсутствуют введение, написанное Д. Алени, и две главы. В настоящее время данный перевод существует только в одном экземпляре (хранится в Научно-исследовательском отделе рукописей Библиотеки РАН в Санкт-Петербурге). Рукопись не упоминается ни в каталогах, ни в работах по истории русского китаеведения.
The article analyses the experience of implementing virtual reality (VR) in foreign language teaching, particularly teaching the Russian language in Chinese universities. Basing on different ...approaches and the results of applying VR in practical classes at the Russian Language Faculty of Sichuan University, the research on the effectiveness of VR technologies has been done in terms of stimulating Russian language learners motivation, enhancing their knowledge, strengthening their language capability, developing basic oral Russian, as well as improving the quality of teaching Russian in a non-native environment. The research subject is determined by the transformation of the educational process among students with a relatively good language capability. The novelty and actuality of the topic are due to the following factors. Firstly, it is modelling situations with real-world samples when the organizer of educational process makes it immersive by using computer and recordings. Secondly, auto-reading module can be used. Thirdly, the system can check the consistency between the original text and the one recognized by voice recognition module. The author reviews indicators of the experiment, aimed at assessing teaching results and summarizing the changes in knowledge acquiring with using VR technologies at the Russian Language Faculty of Sichuan University. According to the results of the survey, the author studies the pros and cons of the changes brought by VR and concludes the opinions of the tested students and teachers participating in the experiment. The results of the experiment illustrate changing roles of teachers and students. To be specific, the teacher is no longer a simple organizer, but a supervisor, assistant and consultant, playing a supporting role. Students gradually master the functions of training systems. It stimulates them to work independently under VR. This has been proved by the students results in the semester exam and the state accreditation test of translators. Besides, the statistical data are presented on the differences between the traditional model of language teaching and the one under VR.
