Compact pattern reconfigurable Micro strip antenna for cognitive radio application is present in this study. The designed antenna structure is a simple design and easy of construction. The proposed ...antenna is made pattern reconfigurable by changing the switching condition of PIN diode. The resonance frequency of the designed antenna operates at 6.9GHz. By enabling and disabling the diode switching conditions the antenna produce band notch frequency at 6.9GHz and also achieved pattern reconfiguration. In this proposed design parameters like gain, radiation pattern, return loss and VSWR are also presented. The designed antenna used for C-band cognitive radio applications. The simulations were carried out in the HFSS 16.
By the end of this decade, a 4G wireless terminal will be available that provides high quality multimedia, personalized services, and ubiquitous multi-standard broadband connectivity with a ...reasonable power consumption. In this context, a multi-band transceiver is needed that provides a high-level of programmability while keeping low design complexity and costs. Software Defined Radio (SDR) is the most promising technology to implement such a terminal as it enables multi-mode reception by tuning to any frequency band, by selecting any channel bandwidth, and by detecting any modulation. Baseband Analog Circuits for Software Defined Radioaims to describe the transition towards a Software Radio from the analog design perspective. As the original idea of a 'full-digital' Software Radio is far from the state-of-art, an analog front-end is still needed to achieve a feasible implementation. Most of the existent front-end architectures are explored from the flexibility point of view. A complete overview of the actual state-of-art for reconfigurable transceivers is given in detail, focusing on the challenges imposed by flexibility in analog design. As far as the design of adaptive analog circuits is concerned, specifications like bandwidth, gain, noise, resolution and linearity should be programmable. The development of circuit topologies and architectures that can be easily reconfigured while providing a near optimal power/performance trade-offs is a key challenge. In this book, we tackle this challenge mainly for baseband analog circuits, i.e. amplifiers and filters, proposing efficient solutions that provide a high level of programmability. Measurements results validate the design strategies.

VLSI (Very Large-Scale Integration) designs for communication coding and decoding should, in general, provide high throughput, achieve low computing latency, occupy low silicon cost, and handle ...multiple bit manipulation algorithms. Application-Specific Instruction-set Processor (ASIP) is an optimized solution to fulfill all these requirements. This paper presents an ASIP for Cyclic Redundancy Check, Reed-Solomon, and basic bit manipulation operations. The processor is obtained via hardware/software co-design methodology and adopts single instruction multiple data architecture. The proposed design occupies 0.71mm 2 (190 kgates) in 65nm CMOS process including 34.5KB single port memory and 45 kgates logic. The throughput of the proposed design reaches 128Gb/s, 8Gb/s, and 128Gb/s for basic bit manipulation operations, RS (255,239) decoding, and CRC calculation, respectively under the clock frequency of 1.0GHz. The proposed design is evaluated with state-of-the-art VLSI designs, which reveals its high performance, low silicon cost, and full programmability.
this paper explains a new efficiency architecture of scalable-DU as Wireless Processing Unit. It is proposed that how to accelerate the computing capability of eNB. The legacy multiprocessor ...architecture always is master-slave which need a control center to balance the usage of resource and making job assignments efficiently. Scalable-DU as Wireless Processing Units no need to have one control center to do these things and can execute jobs by themselves. It can be more adjustable and efficient for the assignment of the jobs and resource management. Besides, this thesis also designs the architecture of ALU which to support the various arithmetic calculations for the purpose of communication.
The vision of a software defined radio (SDR) is to implement in different software systems of communications using the same hardware platform. An advanced SDR system consists of two fundamental ...components: a programmable RF component and another reconfigurable FPGA-based component in charge of performing high-speed signal processing. Since the sampling rate of the ADC and DAC converters is generally fixed and well above the rates required for the baseband processing of different communications systems, the SDRs employ programmable modules that perform the real-time processing rate changes. This article describes in detail the design and implementation in FPGA of a programmable CIC interpolator filter. By selecting the number of steps, the rate change and the delay factor, the frequency rejection is also configured, which could generate intermodulation problems in the RF step. It also describes the validation test and the analysis of resources used in FPGA.
Optimal channel sensing and allocation schemes enable Cognitive Radios (CR) to identify and opportunistically transmit on under-utilized radio frequencies. Intelligent way of channel sensing ...strategies reflected directly to the major performance factors like end-to-end delay, interference, packet loss ratio and energy consumption. Since most of the CR devices are low power handheld devices, we need simpler and efficient channel sensing strategies. In this paper, improved history based channel sensing problems for multiple cognitive users (CU) networks are effectively modeled through channel deciding factor (CDF) from each available channel. The proposed sensing scheme improves both the misdetection ratio and energy consumption of participating radio devices. Each device in cooperative cognitive radio network decides its next channel by sharing the deciding factors with others; this will extend the sensing space of CR network.
