Purpose/Thesis: The authors aim was to assess the state of research on digital culture / cyberculture by analysing the knowledge domain. The second aim was to compare the results obtained through a ...simple analysis of bibliographic data from the Web of Science database with the results of data mapping and visualisation in CiteSpace.Originality/Value: The knowledge domain digital culture / cyberculture is relatively new. Research in this field is conducted mainly within the humanities, social sciences, and information technology.Results and conclusions: A relatively small group of researchers makes noticeable contributions. However, different methods of analyzing the same set of bibliographic data lead to different conclusions. Research based on bibliographic data can only be a foundation of a complete analysis of the knowledge domain.
Eating is an indispensable part of human life. Not only human beings but also other living creatures do this act of eating to sustain their lives. In human life, this act also has a cultural ...dimension. At some point, food becomes a basic need for the human taste buds and creates a culture around it. Also, the culture of the society is reflected in the food/drinks in question. Items belonging to food and culinary culture have always taken place on special occasions and transitional periods in human life. Items belonging to culinary culture are also included in literary products that take their subject from human beings. The representatives of minstrel literature, who created works within the circle of "Turkish Minstrel Art", also dealt with culinary culture, food, and beverages in their works. Poems on food, the first examples of which were observed in the 14th century, are also frequently encountered in the minstrels of the Republican era. In these works, which are mostly created as food epics, topics such as the origin, preparation, and taste of food are addressed and a humoristic style is often perceived. In this study, based on three poems of Minstrel Ali̇ Çatak From Develi titled Pastırma (Bacon), Mantı Destanı (Manti Saga), and Yemekler Geçidi (Food Parade) and by presenting some examples from other poems, the reflections of cuisine culture in minstrel literature are analyzed. In the meantime, the concepts of food, catering culture, and culinary culture have been emphasized and their effects and place on our cultural world have been discussed. Consequently, the role of minstrels as culture carriers was once again presented to the attention. The processing of the elements of culinary culture by minstrels constitutes a proper example of cultural transfer.

Vegetable oils have an important function as an energy source in human nutrition. These oils are the most commonly used oil type in Turkish cuisine. Despite the rapid increase in the population in ...our country in recent years, the production of sunflower oil, which is most used in cooking, has remained limited. This situation has led manufacturers to search for new vegetable oils. One of these oils is sesame oil. Sesame has 50-60% oil content and 20-25% rich protein content. Sesame is a plant used for therapeutic purposes throughout history. In addition, sesame is used as a flavoring in halva, pastries and appetizers. There are also areas of use in industry. One of the most important factors that determine the quality of sesame is its value. Mula sesame, known as golden sesame, has a wide place in the world market, especially in Japan. According to the results of the research, the fact that the iodine value is higher than the sesame grown in other regions reveals the difference of Mula sesame compared to other sesame seeds. Mula is one of the important provinces with its fertile lands and its contribution to the agricultural economy and tourism revenues. In this compilation study; The difference of sesame and Mula sesame from other sesame, Sesame and its uses in the kitchen were researched. According to the research results; It has been revealed that the nutritional value of sesame is high and Mula sesame is very valuable, but its use in the kitchen is limited.
This article contextualizes the works of art presented during the penultimate edition of Permutations Festival in CKiS Wiea Cinie Gallery in June 2021, Poland. The tools used in the analysis are ...scientific narratives such as monographs and articles about cyberculture, technoculture and STS. It poses questions about how they are helpful in the interpretation of the art gathered at the exhibition, what kind of place they give to science fiction, what differs between them and what is shared in the context of technicized contemporary culture.
The purpose of the article is to highlight the traditions of Chinese culture in Western musical art. The research methodology is based on a comprehensive approach, namely the system of historical ...comparative-typological, musicological, and interdisciplinary research methods. The novelty of the research lies in the first attempt to systematise works by Western composers with Chinese themes, which led to the inclusion of musical art in the dialogue East West; the main vectors of addressing various components of Chinese culture are considered in accordance with the historical dynamics of semantic changes. The conclusions of the study emphasise that the embodiment of Chinese imagery in Western European musical art originates in the works of the 18th to mid-19th centuries, subordinated to the conditionally decorative aesthetics of the chinoiserie style, creating a utopian picture of an exotically refined China. The traditions of musical orientalism are developed by classical composers of the 19th century. A turning point is the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries when the emergence of innovative trends, the process of de-Europeanisation of Western music leads to the formation of new approaches in embodying the Chinese image. The incorporation of Chinese motifs into Western music illustrates multifaceted cultural exchange and interpenetration of styles. The inclusion of elements of traditional Chinese music, musical instruments, myths, and legends into Western musical practice fosters the interaction of two cultures, resulting in the emancipation of the creative process. This practice adds an aura of exoticism and inspiration to musical interpretation, offering composers the opportunity to express themselves through a non-standard, often amplified sound repertoire.
Drawing on the long-term ethnographic research conducted in the addiction treatment center Via da Paz, the article discusses the relationship between the concept of sobriety and reality. Via da Paz ...is located in the Brazilian Amazon. The center combines the União do Vegetal religious rituals with psychotherapeutic methods mostly grounded in Twelve-Step approaches. During the 9-month therapy people undergoing treatment drink vegetal the psychoactive brew containing DMT. Though DMT is schedule 1-substance, classified within the UE Drug Conventions as a hallucinogenic drug, in Via da Paz practices related to consumption of vegetal play a central role in the recovery from addiction. Moreover, people undergoing therapy differentiate the state induced by the brew from intoxication with other psychoactive substances and experience it as sober. The aim of the article is to show that in certain social contexts, the path to sobriety (understood as a clear recognition of reality), may lead through the use of substances, that in other contexts are considered as distorting the perception of reality. As it is suggested this is related to the different ontological conceptualizations of the reality itself.
Although it is one of the building blocks of sociological analyses, the concept of symbolic boundaries has been undergoing a second revival over the last twenty-odd years. Following in the footsteps ...of theoretical and empirical work by Michèle Lamont, researchers have been rethinking the potential of symbolic boundaries for additional fleshing out and elaborating in areas that have proven to be most productive. In general, its development moves in both significant scientific directions, toward enabling the transformation of basic premises into a sequence of research questions and linking them to appropriate methods, so as to include a significant portion of social reality empirically. Additionally, there are also theoretical aspirations to expand it from within, developing different aspects of it on an abstract level so as to establish a base categorical schema that would either serve to synthetize existing literature or, even more importantly, to focus further research. Of equal importance is also the attempt to compensate for the limitations of the concept of symbolic boundaries (Lamont 1992) by combining it with another, believed by its advocates to be complementary to the former, that of social relationships (“double objectivity” – Bourdieu and Wacquant 2013), in order to simultaneously examine both the social and mental structures of social differences and social stratification.
