The article delves into the results of the renovation of the Torino Esposizioni complex, a masterpiece by Pier Luigi Nervi and a pivotal part of Turin’s architectural legacy. This building has once ...again become a focal point in contemporary discussions, given its central role in the Technical Economic Feasibility Plan (PFTE) proposed by the Isolarchitetti studio in collaboration with Rafael Moneo, slated for completion in 2022. This team played a pivotal role in implementing and refining the BIM methodology within the professional realm, specifically for crafting the architectural model of such a distinguished property. The process of breaking down the building into standard H-BIM components began with a preliminary phase of study that leveraged an extensive iconographic collection. This assemblage of images underscores the intricacy of an architectural entity deeply rooted in our heritage and chronicles its myriad modifications and restorations over the years. This paints a vivid picture, drawing profound parallels between historical images and today’s digital renditions.<span class="TextRun SCXW135396639 BCX8" lang="EN-GB" xml:lang="EN-GB" data-contrast="auto">DOI: https://doi.org/10.20365/disegnarecon.31.2023. <span class="TextRun Highlight SCXW135396639 BCX8" lang="EN-GB" xml:lang="EN-GB" data-contrast="auto"> 6 <span class="EOP SCXW135396639 BCX8" data-ccp-props="{"201341983":0,"335559739":0,"335559740":240}">
People with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (pALS) require complex, multi-disciplinary care, resulting in extensive healthcare resource utilization (HCRU). To investigate the relationship between HCRU ...and ALS progression, the study objectives were (i) to characterize HCRU in pALS and (ii) to establish whether this varied according to disease stage, as defined using three different methodologies: neurologist-defined early/mid/late stage, the King's clinical staging system for ALS, and the Milan Torino Staging system for ALS (MiToS). Real-world data were drawn from the Adelphi ALS Disease-Specific Programme™, a point-in-time survey of neurologists in France, Germany, Italy, Spain, the UK, and the USA conducted July 2020–March 2021. The analysis included survey responses from 142 physicians with respect to 880 pALS. With advancing ALS stage, significant differences were observed in the number of healthcare professional consultations and X-rays per person (both p < 0.05 for all staging systems), and the proportion of pALS with emergency room admissions, intensive care unit admissions, and assisted ventilation (all p < 0.05 for all staging systems). Across stages, >55% of pALS received care from a general neurologist and a general/primary care practitioner. With increasing stage, there was a significant difference in the proportion receiving care from a physical therapist, pulmonologist/respiratory care practitioner, respiratory therapist, speech/language therapist, and palliative care team, and in the proportion receiving care only from professional caregivers (all p < 0.05 for all staging systems). This study confirmed the substantial HCRU required to support pALS through all stages of ALS and highlighted an increasing need for healthcare resources as the disease progresses.
•People with ALS require complex, multi-disciplinary care.•ALS stage may be defined by a neurologist subjectively or using a verified staging system.•Advancing ALS stage is associated with increased healthcare resource utilization.
The heritage of school buildings constructed in the 1970s in Turin is one of the most interesting infrastructures of the public city in terms of extension and capillary diffusion across the urban ...fabric. The school buildings erected in the expansion areas envisioned by the Popular Affordable Housing Plans, which underwent great demographic changes in the last ten years, can be considered a resource for the present-day city. Through archive documents and the analysis of the relationship between built space and teaching styles, the present article explores this theme by looking at two schools in Turin, both of which were taken, at the time of their construction, as models of the relationship between built space and didactics.

The revised catalogue of primatological material stored in the Museo Regionale di Scienze Naturali of Torino and in the Dipartimento di Scienze della Vita e Biologia dei Sistemi of the Università ...degli Studi di Torino and belonging to the historical material of the Torino University is introduced. The material, 494 specimens belonging to 399 individuals of 122 taxa, is of particular importance since specimens were mainly obtained during the 19th Century and the beginning of the 20th Century. A relevant part of the collection was created by the collaborators of the Museum, among which it is worth to mention F. De Filippi, A. Borelli and E. Festa, while other material came from purchases and donations from private people or the Royal Zoological Garden of Torino. Great part of the specimens is stuffed but also the osteological materials are of particular importance, as many of them derived from the specimens before being prepared and consisting of skulls or more or less complete skeletons. After this revision, the Lectotype and Paralectotypes of Alouatta palliata aequatorialis have been selected, and the type-specimen of the brunnea variety of Cebus albifrons cuscinus has been recognized. In addition, some specimens of particular historical-scientific importance have also been identified and here presented for the first time.
