Pokrovnom kulturom u širem smislu smatra se zasijana biljna vrsta ili smjesa više biljnih vrsta koja se ne žanje, već ostaje na poljoprivrednoj površini zbog povećanja plodnosti tla, vezanja ...atmosferskog dušika, smanjenja erozije tla, sprječavanja ispiranja i nakupljanja nitrata, potiskivanja korova te na druge načine pridonosi uspješnom uzgoju glavne kulture. U svjetskoj bibliografiji mnogobrojni su impresivni primjeri uporabe pokrovnih kultura za potiskivanje (gušenje) korova u različitim kulturama. Kao pokrovne kulture najčešće se navode vrste iz porodice mahunarki (djeteline, inkarnatka), kupusnjača (gorušica, uljana repica, divlja rotkva i dr.) te trava (raž, ječam, zob, pšenica, ljulj i dr.). Vrlo se često sjeme navedenih vrsta koristi u smjesi. Nadalje će se navesti radovi na temu pokrovnih usjeva koji se najčešće koriste u umjerenom klimatskom pojasu.
Since 2003 BITAGAP has documented four new witnesses of the Diario da Jornada do Conde de Ourem. One of these prompts us to consider this text in its relationship to another, the “Carta que escreve u ...Pedro de Sousa.” This paper examines the possible relationship between the texts as presented in the RAH and Marquês de Gouveia manuscripts, and the relationships between individuals involved in the textual exchange. A transcription of the Ajuda text of the Diario is provided.

La propuesta de este artículo recupera el modelo del tipo ideal de Max Weber para aplicarlo a la comprensión del fenómeno turístico en la actualidad. Se trata de proporcionar elementos útiles de análisis a una Sociología del Turismo que tiene pendiente explicar los nuevos comportamientos sociales del turismo asociados a la revolución tecnológica y la crisis económica. El objetivo es, desde una perspectiva sociológica, representar el perfil de un nuevo consumidor, en este caso un comprador de viajes, cuyas pautas de consumo responden a nuevas variables que podemos identificar con esta metodología.
The growth of the Atlantic economy during the eighteenth century has been associated with developments in business networking to mitigate the hazards of communication in long-distance trade. Such ...social capital-based mechanisms reduced transaction costs, but also proved to have their limitations in the changing conditions of eighteenth-century international trade. This paper argues, using the example of the British slave trade, that efforts to innovate less personalised forms of commercial exchange gave those prepared to do so a considerable competitive advantage, and promoted the unprecedented expansion of that trade between 1750 and 1807. We suggest that this shift may be viewed as a precursor of modernising tendencies in business practice in Britain during the industrial revolution.

This paper attempts to study the impact of built environment on the immediate surroundings and nearby places in a metropolitan city of North India. The relationship of built environment with travel ...behaviour is studied on the basis of empirical studies. Impact of treatment plants, emissions from domestic and industrial sources, vehicles and sewerage, etc., has been studied in the study area. The consequences and ill-effects in nearby places have also been studied, based on secondary data. Various development and planning issues are discussed.
