The aim of the paper is to present the results of the VNTR gene polymorphism genetic variants molecular typing for endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS) in human population of Tuzla Canton. Based ...on the analysis of the distribution of eNOS gene genotypes in the total sample of respondents, the highest frequency was recorded for the (b/b) genotype, which was 73.0%. For the heterozygous (a/b) genotype of the eNOS gene, a frequency of 24.0% was determined, and a frequency of 3.0% was recorded for the (a/a) genotype. The research resulted in a database of local and global significance, namely, the incorporation of these data into the existing regional and European genetic database.
Aim of this paper was to determine the frequency of congenital anomalies in a sample of newborns of Tuzla Canton and as well as their distribution according to gender, mother’s age and marital ...distance category. Research was undertaken using the retrospective analysis on the Clinic for Gynecology and Obstetrics of University Clinical Center in Tuzla. By analyzing medical documentation of 17223 newborns, we determined the frequency of congenital anomalies of 5.24%. Highest frequency of congenital anomalies was found in the newborns whose mothers are older than 35. It was found that the frequency of congenital anomalies in the observed population is within the range of variation of this parameter with data from the literature.
In this paper, the main sources of available drinking water and the spatial distribution of medicinal waters in the Tuzla Canton are analyzed. The focus of the paper is on the use of available ...drinking water and the exploitation of medicinal waters in this area. The paper describes the available quantities of drinking water, water needs and potential available quantities in the municipalities of Tuzla Canton. The conducted research indicates a lack of drinking water in this area. In order to improve the water supply of the population with drinking water in this area, it was pointed out that longterm systemic solution to the problem of drinking water shortage must be considered. Exploitation and use of medicinal water for tourist and medical purposes is done on a smaller scale. For the adequate application of medicinal waters in the work, it was also pointed out that it is necessary to improve the material basis, which primarily refers to the accommodation facilities and medical equipment in spas. The paper presents theoretical and practical research of spatial distribution of water resources and their use. The analysis of water resources presents their economic value and proposes guidelines for further use and protection.
This paper is an overview of the Czech officials in the administration of the Donja Tuzla District during the Austro-Hungarian rule in Bosnia-Herzegovina. The paper has been written as a part of the ...author's obligation in the Ph.D. studies, and it aims to represent a basis for further research in this field. The paper has been written according to the schemes of the administration published in the „Bosniak“ journal, official reports on the administration, laws, and order imposed upon Bosnia-Herzegovina, journals, and relevant studies. A general conclusion is that the Czechs were very numerous strangers in service in the administration of the Donja Tuzla District, that they were present on both district and county levels, that they worked in every county of the district, as well as in every department of the administration.
At the beginning of the paper we explain the territorial differences between the Washington and Dayton Peace Solutions, which especially refers to the Tuzla-Podrinje Canton and focuses only on the ...Tuzla region and its specifics in relation to other regions in Bosnia and Herzegovina. We then present the basic elements of the Washington Agreement, the meetings that preceded it, the content of the agreement, the principles of the Vienna Agreement important for the organization of the canton, as well as active monitoring and consideration of the agreement by the Tuzla District Assembly and its views on international community plans. We also monitor the implementation and importance of the implementation of the Washington Agreement in the Tuzla region and the creation of the Tuzla-Podrinje Canton, explain the name of the canton and use demographic data based on the 1991 census to indicate that Podrinje is a Bosniak-majority region. Then we give an overview of how the implementation of the Washington Agreement reflected on the normalization of food prices, the situation in the canton and the strengthening of the combat power of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, ie the II Corps of the Army of B&H. The paper describes the jurisdiction of the President of the Canton, the Government of the Canton, national representation by agreement of SDA and HDZ, the composition of the government, the reasons for non-participation of Serbs in implementation and talks with the Serb Civic Council to participate in organizing ministries. We especially present the activities of the President and the Government of the Canton on supporting the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, II Corps and strengthening defense, budget funds for these purposes: action: „We are all B&H Army“, support for displaced persons and improving living conditions in protected areas of Srebrenica and Žepa We also describe the activities of the authorities during the fall of the protected zones of Srebrenica and Žepa, for the care of the displaced population, as well as the requests to the institutions of the international community to stop and prevent genocide against the Bosniaks of Srebrenica. We especially emphasize the activity of the Tuzla-Podrinje Canton Ministry of the Interior in preserving public order and peace. We are especially dealing with the military situation in the Tuzla-Podrinje Canton, presenting significant military successes through the liberation of Lisača on the Kalesija front, Vis near Gračanica, Vijenac near Lukavac, Greda on Majevica, as well as the crushing of enemy offensives „Spreča-95“ and others. In this paper, we argue the support of Russian diplomacy to the aggressor and link Russia's diplomatic activities through the contact group and other accomplices of the conspiracy group towards the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina. In a complex situation such as that in Bosnia and Herzegovina, when a Serbian aggressor with the support of insurgent Serbs in Bosnia and Herzegovina commits genocide, a joint criminal enterprise with the support of the Croatian state led by Tuđman and Croats mainly from Herzegovina win over Fikret Abdić to organize a quisling creation „autonomous region of Western Bosnia“ and opening a conflict with the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The support of the Tuzla District Assembly to the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Government of Bosnia and Herzegovina in their efforts to stop the war and find a peaceful solution was significant. Also, the authorities of the District of Tuzla vigorously condemned the divisions on the national principle as well as the division of the territory of the District of Tuzla. In this paper, we have processed the proposals of the Assembly of the District of Tuzla to the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina according to individual peace solutions. The inadmissibility of the Dayton Peace Solution for the Tuzla-Podrinje Canton authorities and the SDA Cantonal Committee was specifically addressed as well as the reasons and request to President Alija Izetbegović and the negotiating team of Bosnia and Herzegovina to leave the Dayton negotiations, and then the request to Izetbegović to clarify the reasons for accepting such an unjust peace agreement.
The main topic of this work is related to the Sharia marriage law. The work has been divided into three parts, the organisation of the Sharia courts and application of the Sharia law, the procedure ...of joining two people in marriage and ending a marriage. The subject of the research concerns the time period during the Austro Hungarian Monarchy and the Kingdom of Yugoslavia when the Sharia law was implemented to regulate the private law relations amongst Muslims. Taking into consideration that Islam was one of the accepted religions during this period, the religious rules are separated from the state rules and according to that the Sharia courts have continued their existence, which were established on the grounds of Bosnia and Herzegovina during the Ottoman Empire. According to the norms of the Sharia law the Sharia courts were resolving the private law relations amongst Muslims. With the aim to present a full review on this topic various court decisions have been researched in the Archives of the Tuzla Canton and which are related to the Kotar Sharia court Tuzla 1899 – 1944.
When Austria-Hungary occupied Bosnia and Herzegovina, it brought many social and cultural changes. One of them was suppressing the widespread culture of holding and carrying arms that existed in ...Ottoman Bosnia. Holding arms was still possible but under strict control. Firearm holders were, therefore, a very tiny, privileged group inside society. In this paper, we analyze the ethnic/religious and social structure of this group in the case of the Tuzla Circle in 1904. How large was this group? Were there differences along ethnic and social lines in terms of firearm holding rates? These are the key questions we are seeking answers to in this paper, with an aim to get the first insight into the broader picture of firearm holding in the entire province under the Monarchy’s control.

Hot spring waters are rich in terms of minerals. Since there are dramatic changes in thermodynamic parameters in geothermal power plants, such as a decrease in temperature and pressure, severe ...precipitation occurs throughout the system components in an uncontrolled manner. There are three main chemistries in deposits: carbonates (mainly calcium carbonates), silicates (metal silicates), and sulphides (antimony sulphide-stibnite). Energy harvesting is remarkably reduced out of the insulating nature of the deposit. Various actions need to be taken to mitigate this undesirable issue of scaling in geothermal systems. Geothermal systems are in fact quite complex, and the composition of brine and, accordingly, the chemistry of the deposit are not identical. Therefore, each system should be studied individually, and a tailor-made remedy should be developed. In this overview, the types of deposits in terms of chemistry and the actions (pH modification or antiscalant dosing) that should be taken to reduce scaling are mentioned, and potential chemistries of antiscalants are given.
