The wastewater treatment plant Varaždin upgrade project envisages the reconstruction of the rain overflow directly upstream of the plant. Physicochemical parameters of water quality (Biological ...Oxygen Demand, Chemical Oxygen Demand, Total Nitrogen, Total Phosphorus, Suspended Solids) in sewage/drainage system and in the accumulation were analyzed. In accordance with expected values of concentrations in overflow and in the accumulation, an analysis of the water quality in the accumulation after mixing was performed with certain assumptions. The results show that the ecological condition of the accumulation generally remains unchanged, classified as good condition, except for Chemical oxygen demand which is a critical parameter. Paper refers to the frequency and duration of possible exceedances of the Chemical oxygen demand limits and gives critical analysis of the realistically expected impacts. A proposal for conducting more detailed analysis with a larger database and by modelling pollution discharge by a complex three-dimensional model is given.
gradovi imaju različite modele reprezentacije i mjerenja kulturne i kreativne industrije
zbog vlastitih specifičnosti, cilj ovog rada je usporedba mapiranja kulturnih i kreativnih
industrija. Analizom prethodnih studija u području kreativne i kulturne industrije unutar
gradova, ovaj rad identificira nekoliko različitih pristupa mapiranju industrije. Ova

barokni grad s tradicijom kulturne i kreativne industrije grad Varaždin iz Hrvatske
Prior to the agricultural reform, the free and royal town of Varaždin owned 1.228 jutros of arable land. The agricultural reform divided 1.038 jutros, the army claimed 100 jutros for its needs, ...whereas only 90 jutros were left under the ownership of the Town. Previous to the agricultural reform, in the war year of 1917, money received from the lease of the land made up more than 5 percent of the town income. However, having entered the new state union and due to the introduction of the agricultural reform as well as new and higher taxes in 1923, the land lease revenue made up barely 0,2 percent of the town budget. A buyer could enter expropriated land of the Town of Varaždin into the land register only when reimbursement had been payed off, and he also had to build a house there within the next three years. Farmers obtained the land on a temporary one-year lease. Having taken everything into consideration, the agricultural reform failed to increase prosperity, on the contrary, it brought along direct financial losses for the Town of Varaždin. Namely, in March 1939, during a Municipal Council sitting members commented that the Town of Varaždin ceased to be the administration centre of the northern Croatia due to the loss of financial directive and county jurisdiction, whereas it also lost significant financial income due to the seizure of large amounts of land for the agricultural reform. For the purpose of illustration, it would be interesting to see where the properties owned by the Town of Varaždin were located; however, due to the large number of cadastral parcels, its drawing is beyond the scope of this paper.
Regarding the seniorate possession of the Stari grad, Rudolf II Habsburg gave it to count Toma Erdödy and his heirs who managed the property up to the first half of the 20th century. As opposed to the property belonging to the Town of Varaždin, in this case, the number of cadastral parcels is smaller and therefore it was be possible to make an illustration depicting the surface it occupied in the area of the Town of Varaždin. The seniorate possession belonging to the counts of Erdödy was smaller than the then Town of Varaždin and consisted of 1.091 jutros of land. After the agrarian reform had been conducted, 825 cadastral jutros remained. Moreover, the process caused conflicts within the Erdödy family and short time after they vanished from Varaždin.
Varaždin Baroque Evenings arose from two main ideas. First - to research deeper end wider Croatian music heritage of the 17th and 18th century, especially music heritage of ‘the most baroque’ town in ...Croatia as Varaždin is considered. Second - to perform the most important European works of music from the baroque era and its presentation – often for the first time in former Yugoslavia– to Croatian public. For that purpose Varaždin baroque festival gathered Varaždin professional musicians, amateurs and students of Varaždin School of Music. Thus, performers from Varaždin can be placed in one of three categories. In the first group of musicians are students of Varaždin School of Music and their professors, as their mentors and performers themselves. After all, the initial idea fort he festival came from the series of concerts with which School of Music celebrated the 140th anniversary of founding. The second group consist music amateurs and pupils from Varaždin primary and secondary schools gathered in schools choirs, instrumental ensembles and amateur music societies. As well as School of Music, they are permanently present at VBE. Their cooperation with VBE include programs for special events, participation in festival projects and independent projects. In the third group are professional musicians, either born in Varaždin or have lived and worked in Varaždin. They are in the heart of festival from the very beginning. In the first fifteen years of the festival musicians like Nada Putar - Gold, Ruža Pospiš - Baldani or Jurica Murai were the most active performers at the festival and at the same time members of the programme board. It is unquestionable that the VBE are the cause of increased interest for European and Croatian music of baroque era, the cause of formation a number of ensembles and the starting impulse in thinking about historically informed performance in Croatia.

The Varaždin aquifer is the only source of drinking water for inhabitants of the Varaždin County. In the last decades, groundwater contamination with nitrate has become an increasing problem. ...Therefore, there is a need to define the origin of nitrate as the first step in groundwater remediation. The data in this article consist of δ18O and δ15N values in nitrate in groundwater, and δ15N in solid matter. Groundwater was sampled in the period from April 2018 to December 2019 at 10 different sites by pumping the wells, and directly in the gravel pit in Šijanec. Representative solid samples of plants, soil, manure, and synthetic fertilizers were collected from arable land in two field campaigns (July and October 2019). The presented dataset can be used as a baseline for identification of nitrate sources in groundwater and possible nitrate attenuation processes. The data is related to the research article “Tracking the nitrogen cycle in a vulnerable alluvial system using a multi proxy approach: case study Varaždin alluvial aquifer, Croatia.” 1.
Hrvatske, Austrije, Slovenije, Bosne i ...Hercegovine i Srbije.
Republike Hrvatske.
A group of keyboard instruments from the holdings of the Varaždin City Museum consists of 12 objects: ten pianos – the square piano built between 1790 and 1810, five historic pianos from the first ...half of the 19th century, four pianos from the second half of the 19th century – as well as two positive organs from the 17th century. They were built by the prominent instrument makers such as Rudolf Rapoldt, Johann Jakesch, Michael Rosenberg, Wilhelm Lange, Carl Schmidt, Carl Kutschera, Josef Kaspar Fritz, Johann Promberger younger, and brothers Carl and Johann Schweighofer. Most of the instruments originate from Vienna, which confirms its cultural influence on Varaždin; Styria and Bratislava follow. The number and variety of the keyboard instruments kept in the Varaždin City Museum is evidence of a favorable economical situation of their past owners that allowed them to purchase these keyboard instruments from reputable international workshops, their adequate music education, as well as intensive music life in „the little Vienna“ (as contemporaries used to call Varaždin). Instruments collecting in the City Museum of Varaždin is a testimony to a developed awareness of their significance and an effort to saving them as many of them as possible. Being stored in the museums saved many of them – important parts of the cultural heritage – from disappearing. Furthermore, for some of them indispensable restoration was provided. Rudolf Rapoldt’s positive organ and Michael Rosenberger’s historic piano were restored, while Johann Jakesch’s square piano and historic piano by an unknown builder, earlier owned by the Ban of Croatia Josip Jelačić, are in the process of being restored.
