The willingness to understand the essence/character of the process of human learning has inspired researchers for years, provoking them to undertake a number of cognitive actions. One ought to ...notice, however, that in spite of the numerous conclusions of a definitional nature the questions pertaining to the very process of learning remain without unambiguous answers. The andragogues’ thinking has for years focused upon the activity and the role of an individual in lifelong learning and the immediate relation between individual
life experience, the learning process, and biography. Not only do the scholars notice the educational potential of individual life experience (learning in one’s life), but they also see the value of reflection on biography, which becomes the source of biographical learning. The
present paper constitutes a voice in the discussion on learning and biography. The presented information pertains to such subjects as: understanding biography in the andragogical perspective, the biographical learning process. The entirety of the deliberations in concluded
with a reflection on the relationship between the learning process and biography.
For long centuries the problem of autonomy in education was not discussed, because of the prevailing concept existing at the time. The Iearners were understood as the homogeniuos group children or ...young people and their learning was understood as the process being controlled by the teacher, who had all the responsibility for the knowledge that pupils had to acquire and the progress that they had to make in learning and personal development.
Socio-political changes after 1989 created new opportunities for the development of adult education. At that time, the condition of education was largely determined by economic factors. The ongoing ...economic neoliberalism has raised a lot of criticism of the market economy, including socio-humanistic terms. Since 2008, that is, in the period of economic crisis, market dominated various areas of human life spoiling values that had been considered as essential elements of the functioning of individuals and groups. Today, economics has become a study of human interaction, addressing the issue of stimuli and incentives and entering the area of the interests of education sciences. This situation is a challenge for andragogy as a sub-discipline of pedagogy on which lies the duty of taking care of the values, formulating social policies and evaluating their implementation.
The present paper reveals the investigation data of 370 10th-11th form students (220
among them are studying in adult schools and 150 are studying in general secondary
schools ), using semantical ...differential-type scales for the evaluation of their self-concept.
Combining analyses of sellers' everyday work experiences with theorizations of marginality, working, and learning, Gerrard provides much-needed insight into contemporary forms of entrepreneurial and ...precarious work.
