Un condensat de paires dans un gaz tridimensionnel de fermions de spin 1/2 isolé, homogène, non polarisé, de taille finie et de température extrêmement basse, mais non nulle, subit au cours du temps ...un changement de phase θˆ(t)−θˆ(0) avec une composante aléatoire, ne serait-ce que par couplage aux phonons thermiques du gaz. À l'aide de la seconde relation de Josephson quantique reliant dθˆ/dt aux opérateurs nombres d'occupation des modes de phonons et d'équations cinétiques linéarisées donnant l'évolution des fluctuations des nombres d'occupation, nous accédons au comportement de la variance Varθˆ(t)−θˆ(0) de ce déphasage aux temps longs devant le temps de collision des phonons. Le cas où la branche de phonons est de départ convexe ressemble à celui du gaz de bosons : les processus collisionnels dominants sont ceux à trois phonons de Beliaev–Landau, si bien que la variance est la somme d'un terme balistique Ct2 et d'un terme diffusif avec retard 2D(t−t0), dont nous donnons les expressions analytiques à la limite thermodynamique. Le cas concave est beaucoup plus exotique. Nous l'analysons aux échelles de temps courtes devant T−9, ce qui permet de garder comme seuls processus collisionnels ceux 2 phonons → 2 phonons de Landau–Khalatnikov aux petits angles. Le nombre total de phonons est conservé et les nombres moyens d'occupation des phonons à l'équilibre peuvent admettre un potentiel chimique μϕ<0 supposé isotrope. La variance du déphasage est alors la somme d'un terme balistique Ct2, d'un terme diffusif 2Dt, de termes sous-sous-dominants exotiques 2A(πt)1/2+2Bln(t1/2) et d'un terme constant. Nous obtenons analytiquement l'expression des coefficients C, A et B, ainsi que le comportement dominant divergent de D et du terme constant lorsque μϕ/kBT→0. Si μϕ=0, la partie sous-balistique de la variance devient superdiffusive, de la forme d0t5/3, où d0 est connu exactement. Pour μϕ/kBT infinitésimal non nul, nous trouvons la loi interpolant entre l'étalement superdiffusif et l'étalement diffusif de cette partie sous-balistique. Comme sous-produits, nous obtenons des résultats nouveaux sur le taux d'amortissement Landau–Khalatnikov des phonons, en particulier à μϕ<0.
A condensate of pairs in an isolated, homogeneous, unpolarised, finite-size spin 1/2 tridimensional Fermi gas at an extremely low nonzero temperature undergoes with time a phase change θˆ(t)−θˆ(0) with a random component, due at least to the coupling with the thermal phonons of the gas. Thanks to the quantum second Josephson relation connecting dθˆ/dt to the phonon mode occupation numbers, and to linearised kinetic equations giving the evolution of the occupation number fluctuations, we access the behaviour of the phase change variance Varθˆ(t)−θˆ(0) at times much longer than the phonon collision time. The case where the phonon branch has a convex start is similar to the Bose gas case: the leading collisional processes are the Beliaev–Landau three-phonon processes, and the variance is the sum of a ballistic term Ct2 and of a delayed diffusive term 2D(t−t0), whose analytical expressions are given in the thermodynamic limit. The concave case is much more exotic. It is analysed at time scales much shorter than T−9, allowing one to restrict to the 2 phonons → 2 phonons small-angle Landau–Khalatnikov processes. The total number of phonons is conserved and the phonon mean occupation numbers at equilibrium can exhibit a chemical potential μϕ<0, assumed to be isotropic. The phase change variance is then the sum of a ballistic term Ct2, of a diffusive term 2Dt, of exotic subsubleading terms 2A(πt)1/2+2Bln(t1/2), and of a constant term. The analytic expression of the coefficients C, A, and B is obtained, as well as the diverging leading behavior of D and of the constant term when μϕ/kBT→0. For μϕ=0, the variance sub-ballistic part becomes superdiffusive, of the form d0t5/3, where d0 is known exactly. For a nonzero infinitesimal μϕ/kBT, a law is found, which interpolates between the superdiffusive spreading and the diffusive spreading of the sub-ballistic part. As by-products, new results are obtained on the phonon Landau–Khalatnikov damping rate, in particularly for μϕ<0.
The pair-condensed unpolarized spin-1/2 Fermi gases have a collective excitation branch in their pair-breaking continuum (VA Andrianov, VN Popov, 1976). We study it at zero temperature, with the ...eigenenergy equation deduced from the time-dependent BCS theory and extended analytically to the lower half complex plane through its branch cut, calculating both the dispersion relation and the spectral weights (quasiparticle residues) of the branch. In the case of BCS superconductors, so called because the effect of the ion lattice is replaced by a short-range electron-electron interaction, we also include the Coulomb interaction and we restrict ourselves to the weak coupling limit ∆/µ → 0 + (∆ is the order parameter, µ the chemical potential) and to wavenumbers q = O(1/ξ) where ξ is the size of a pair; when the complex energy z_q is expressed in units of ∆ and q in units of 1/ξ, the branch follows a universal law insensitive to the Coulomb interaction. In the case of cold atoms in the BEC-BCS crossover, only a contact interaction remains, but the coupling strength ∆/µ can take arbitrary values, and we study the branch at any wave number. At weak coupling, we predict three scales, that already mentioned q ≈ 1/ξ, that q ≈ (∆/µ)^−1/3 /ξ where the real part of the dispersion relation has a minimum and that q ≈ (µ/∆)/ξ ≈ k_F (k_F is the Fermi wave number) where the branch reaches the edge of its existence domain. Near the point where the chemical potential vanishes on the BCS side, µ/∆ → 0 + , where ξ ≈ k_F , we find two scales q ≈ (µ/∆)^1/2 /ξ and q ≈ 1/ξ. In all cases, the branch has a limit 2∆ and a quadratic start at q = 0. These results were obtained for µ > 0, where the eigenenergy equation admits at least two branching points epsilon_a (q) and epsilon_b (q) on the positive real axis, and for an analytic continuation through the interval epsilon_a (q), epsilon_b (q). We find new continuum branches by performing the analytic continuation through epsilon_b (q), +∞ or even, for q low enough, where there is a third real positive branching point epsilon_c (q), through epsilon_b (q), epsilon_c (q) and epsilon_c (q), +∞. On the BEC side µ < 0 not previously studied, where there is only one real positive branching point epsilon_a (q), we also find new collective excitation branches under the branch cut epsilon_a (q), +∞. For µ > 0, some of these new branches have a low-wavenumber exotic hypoacoustic z_q ≈ q^3/2 or hyperacoustic z_q ≈ q^4/5 behavior. For µ < 0, we find a hyperacoustic branch and a nonhypoacoustic branch, with a limit 2∆ and a purely real quadratic start at q = 0 for ∆/|µ| < 0.222.
Les gaz de fermions de spin 1/2 non polarisés condensés par paires présentent une branche d'excitation collective dans leur continuum de paire brisée (V.A. Andrianov, V.N. Popov, 1976). Nous en effectuons une étude poussée à température nulle, à partir de l'équation aux énergies propres déduite de la théorie BCS dépendant du temps puis prolongée analytiquement au demi-plan complexe inférieur à travers sa ligne de coupure, en calculant à la fois la relation de dispersion et les poids spectraux (résidus de quasi-particule) de la branche. Dans le cas des supraconducteurs dits BCS où l'effet du réseau cristallin est remplacé par une interaction attractive à courte portée, mais où l'interaction de Coulomb doit pouvoir être prise en compte, nous nous restreignons à la limite de couplage faible ∆/µ → 0 + (∆ est la paramètre d'ordre, µ le potentiel chimique) et aux nombres d'onde q = O(1/ξ) où ξ est la taille d'une paire ; quand l'énergie complexe z_q est exprimée en unités de ∆ et q en unités de 1/ξ, la branche suit une loi universelle que nous déterminons, insensible à l'interaction de Coulomb. Dans le cas des atomes froids dans le croisement CBE-BCS, il ne reste qu'une interaction de contact mais le couplage ∆/µ peut prendre des valeurs arbitraires, et nous étudions la branche à tout nombre d'onde. En couplage faible, nous prédisons trois échelles, celle déjà mentionnée q ≈ 1/ξ, celle q ≈ (∆/µ)^−1/3 /ξ où la partie réelle de la relation de dispersion admet un minimum et celle q ≈ (µ/∆)/ξ ≈ k_F (k_F est le nombre d'onde de Fermi) où la branche atteint le bord de son domaine d'existence. Près du point d'annulation du potentiel chimique du côté BCS, µ/∆ → 0 + , où ξ ≈ k_F , nous trouvons les deux échelles q ≈ (µ/∆)^1/2 /ξ et q ≈ 1/ξ. Dans tous les cas, la branche est de limite 2∆ et de départ quadratique en q = 0. Ces résultats ont été obtenus pour µ > 0, où l'équation aux énergies propres admet au moins deux points de branchement epsilon_a (q) et epsilon_b (q) sur l'axe réel positif, avec un prolongement analytique par l'intervalle epsilon_a (q), epsilon_b (q). Nous trouvons de nouvelles branches du continuum en prolongeant analytiquement à travers epsilon_b (q), +∞ ou même, pour q assez faible, où existe un troisième point de branchement réel positif epsilon_c (q), à travers epsilon_b (q), epsilon_c (q) et epsilon_c (q), +∞. Du côté CBE µ < 0 non étudié auparavant, où existe un seul point de branchement réel positif epsilon_a (q), nous trouvons également de nouvelles branches sous la ligne de coupure epsilon_a (q), +∞. Pour µ > 0, certaines de ces nouvelles branches présentent à faible nombre d'onde un comportement exotique hypoacoustique z_q ≈ q^3/2 ou hyperacoustique z_q ≈ q^4/5. Pour µ < 0, nous trouvons une branche hyperacoustique et une branche non hypoacoustique, de limite 2∆ et de départ quadratique purement réel en q = 0 pour ∆/|µ| < 0, 222.
