Bu çalışmada, prototip sac metal kalıpçılığında kullanıma uygun ötektik ve ötektik civarı (ötektikaltı ve ötektiküstü) Bi-Sn alaşımlarının mekanik özellikleri incelenmiştir. Üretilen bu alaşımların ...mekanik özelliklerini belirlemek üzere alaşımlara sertlik, çekme ve basma testleri uygulanmıştır. Ötektiküstü alaşımlarda Bi artışı ile sertlik artarken, ötektikaltı alaşımlarda sertlik Bi artışı ile azalmıştır. Maksimum sertlik değeri %60 Bi içeren ötektikaltı alaşımda elde edilmiştir. Alaşımların çekme mukavemetleri ise genel itibariyle Bi artışıyla azalmıştır. En yüksek çekme mukavemeti değeri, %51 Bi oranındaki ötektiküstü alaşımda elde edilmiştir. Ötektiküstü alaşımların uzama oranları genel itibariyle ötektikaltı alaşımlardan daha yüksektir. Maksimum uzama oranı ise ötektik alaşımda elde edilmiştir. Diğer taraftan, alaşımların basma mukavemetleri Bi oranı ile azalmıştır. En yüksek basma mukavemeti değeri de, %51 Bi oranındaki ötektiküstü alaşımda elde edilmiştir.
Novel organometallic compounds have been prepared by complexing the fluoroquinolones, norfloxacin, ofloxacin, ciprofloxacin, sparfloxacin, lomefloxacin, pefloxacin and gatifloxacin, with bismuth. The ...complexes were characterized by UV, IR, atomic absorption spectroscopy, elemental analysis, differential scanning calorimetry, thermogravimetric analysis and mass spectrometry. Their antibacterial potential against Helicobacter pylori and other microorganisms was investigated. These compounds were found to possess strong activity against Helicobacter pylori with a minimum inhibitory concentration of 0.5 mg L-1. They also exhibited moderate activity against Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus pumilus and Staphylococcus epidermidis. These bismuth-fluoroquinolone complexes have the potential to be developed as drugs against H. pylori related ailments.
Komplesacijom fluorokinolona, norfloksacina, ofloksacina, ciprofloksacina, sparfloksacina, lomefloksacina, pefloksacina i gatifloksacina s bizmutom pripravljeni su novi organometalni spojevi. Dobiveni kompleksi karakterizirani su UV, IR i atomskom apsorpcijskom spektroskopijom, elementarnom analizom, diferencijalnom pretražnom kalorimetrijom, termogravimetrijskom analizom i spektrometrijom masa. Nadalje, ispitivan je njihov učinak na Helicobacter pylori i druge mikroorganizme. Ispitivani spojevi pokazuju snažno djelovanje na Helicobacter pylori u koncentraciji 0,5 mg L-1 te umjereno djelovanje na Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus pumilus i Staphylococcus epidermidis. Kompleksi fluorokinolona s bizmutom potencijalni su lijekovi za infekcije uzrokovane H. pylori.
W artykule szczegółowo scharakteryzowano pod względem mineralogicznym i geochemicznym występowanie telluru i bizmutu w złotonośnych siarczkowych rudach polimctalicznych z zarzu- conych złóż (Złoty ...Stok, Czarnów, Radzimowicc i Radomicc) oraz punktu mineralizacji (Bardo Śląskie) w Sudetach. Tellur jest zaliczany do pierwiastków krytycznych, a jego rola stale wzrasta. Na rynkach światowych popyt na tellur znacznie przewyższa jego podaż zc względu na coraz większe wykorzystanie np. w produkcji paneli słonecznych czy nośników informacji. Maksymalne kon- centracje telluru około 150 ppm stwierdzono w rudach arscnopirytowo-chalkopirytowych w Ra- dzimowicach, a najwyższe koncentracje bizmutu (ok. 0,5%) w rudach siarczkowych w Czarnowie. W pozostałych obszarach koncentracje Tc są na poziomic od kilku do kilkudziesięciu ppm, a w przy- padku Bi od kilkudziesięciu do kilkuset ppm. Zawartości tc znacznie przewyższają klarki tych metali w skorupie ziemskiej. Wśród zidentyfikowanych minerałów telluru w Radzimowicach i Czarnowie dominują tcllurki Ag (hessyt) oraz w Bardzie Śląskim tcllurki Bi (hcdlcyit i tcllurobismutyt). Tcllurki występują głównie w postaci mikro-wrostków w minerałach siarczkowych w paragcnczic z mi- nerałami Au, Ag i Bi. Minerały bizmutu rozpoznano we wszystkich zbadanych miejscach i re- prezentowane są głównie przez bizmut rodzimy i wtórny minerał bizmutu -bismutynit. Tellur i bizmut wykazują przeważnie silną korelacje (cc>0,6) z Au, Ag i Pb. Krystalizacja głównych minerałów Bi i Tc nastąpiła w zakresie temperatur średnich (300 to 200°C) w dwóch etapach. Pierwszy związany głównie z krystalizacją tcllurków Bi w strefach kontaktowo-mctasomatycznych wokół waryscyjskich intmzji granitoidowych (Czarnów i Bardo Śląskie) i drugi - związany z krystalizacją tcllurków Ag w procesach cpitcrmalnych wokół intruzji porfirowych (Radzimowicc). Bi i Tc odgrywały donośną rolę w procesie wytrącania złota z roztworów hydrotcrmalnych. Pierwiastki tc mają znaczenie mctalogcnicznc i wskaźnikowe przy poszukiwaniach złota.
This paper provides a detailed description of the geochemical and mineralogical characteristics of the occurrence of tellurium and bismuth in gold-bearing, polymetallic sulfide deposits and their prospects in the Sudetes Mountains (specifically in Z³otym Stok, Czarnów, Radzimowice,Radomicc, and Bardo Śląskie). Tellurium is classified as a critical element, and its role in modern industry is gradually increasing due to high demand for use in solar batteries and memory discs. Within the study area, the highest Te concentration (approx. 150 ppm) was determined in auriferous arsenic-chalcopyrite ores in Radzimowice, and the highest bismuth concentration (0.5%) in sulfide ores in the Czarnów deposit. In other studied areas, Te content ranges from a few up to dozens of ppm, and Bi from dozens up to hundreds of ppm. These concentrations are much higher than their Clarks in the earth’s crust. Among Teminerals in the Radzimowice and Czarnów deposit, Ag-tellurides (hessite) dominated, while Bi-tellurides (hedleyite and tellurobismuthite) prevailed in Bardo Śląskie. Tellurides occur mainly as micro-inserts in sulfides in paragenetic association with Au, Ag, and Bi minerals. Bi minerals were recognized in all of the studied deposits, represented mainly by native bismuth and a secondary Bi-mineral - bismuthinite. Tellurium and bismuth usually have a strong positive correlation (cc > 0.6) with Au, Ag, and Pb. Crystallization of tellurides occurred in at least two separate events of ore crystallization at temperatures ranging from 200 to 300°C. The first event dominated by Bi-tellurides was connected with metasomatic processes in the contact zones of Variscan granites (Czarnów and Bardo Śląskie), and the second event with Ag-tellurides was connected with epithermal low sulfidation processes related to Variscan porphyries (Radzimowice). Bi and Te played a significant role as scavengers of gold from hydrothermal fluids. These elements also have important metallogenic and prospecting significance.

Amaç: Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) eradikasyonu için birinci basamakta tedavi olarak önerilen proton pompa inhibitörü, amoksisilin ve klaritromisin tedavisi ülkemizde ancak %50 civarı nda ...eradikasyon sağlamaktadır. Etkin eradikasyon tedavisi arayışlarımız devam etmekte olup bu amaçla H. pylori eradikasyon başarısını artırdığı bilinen bizmut esaslı 3'lü ve 4'lü tedavileri ilk basamak tedavide karşılaştırmayı amaçladık. Yöntem: Ekim 2002 ve Ağustos 2003 arasında şikayeti nedeniyle endoskopi yapılıp üreaz testi veya histopatolojik olarak H. pylori pozitif olan 82 hasta çalışmaya dahil edildi. Hastalar rastgele iki gruba ayrılarak birinci gruba ranitidin bizmut sitrat 2x400 mg, metronidazol 3x500 mg, tetrasiklin 2x1000 mg (RMT) ve ikinci gruba pantoprazol 2x40 mg, bizmut subsitrat 4x300mg, amoksisilin 2x1000 mg, klaritromisin 2x500 mg (PBAK) 14 gün süreyle verildi. Tedavi bitiminden 4 hafta sonra H. pylori eradikasyonu endoskopileri tekrarlanarak değerlendirildi. Semptomlardaki değişim açısından sorgulandı. Histoloji ve üreaz testi ile H. pylori negatifse eradikasyon olarak kabul edildi. Bulgular: RMT grubundaki 42 hastanın 26'sında %61.9 ve PBAK grubundaki 40 hastanın 22'sinde %55 oranı nda eradikasyon sağlandı. Toplam olarak 82 hastadan 48'inde (%58.5) eradikasyon sağlandı. İki grup arasında eradikasyon oranları açısından istatistiki olarak anlamlı fark bulunmadı. Sonuç: Hem RMT hem de PBAK H. pylori eradikasyonunda etkili bir kombinasyon olarak bulunmadı.Bu konuda ileri araştırmalara gerek vardır.
Background/aims: Combination of a proton pump inhibitor, amoxicillin, and clarithromycin, which have been recommended as a primary treatment for Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infection, provides eradication in approximately 50% of cases of H. pylori infection in Turkey. There is no effective eradication regimen for H. pylori in our country. We aimed to compare bismuth- based triple and quadruple treatments for eradication of H. pylori. Methods: Eighty-two patients were enrolled into the study between October 2002 and August 2003. The patients were randomly assigned into two groups. One group received ranitidine bismuth citrate 2x400 mg, metronidazole 3x500 mg and tetracycline 2x1000 mg for 14 days (RMT group) and the other group pantoprazole 2x40 mg, bismuth subcitrate 4x300mg, amoxicillin 2x1000 mg and clarithromycin 2x500 mg for 14 days (PBAC group). The eradication was assessed four weeks after completion of the treatment, and the patients underwent endoscopy and were asked whether there were changes in their symptoms. When H. pylori was negative on both histological examination and urease test, the disease was considered eradicated. Results: H. pylori was eradicated in 26 of 42 patients in the RMT group (61.9%) and in 22 of 40 patients in the PBAC group (55%). In total, eradication was achieved in 48 out of 82 patients (58.5%). There was no significant difference in eradication between the groups. Conclusion: Neither regimen (RMT or PBAC) was effective in eradicating H. pylori infection in our area. Further investigations are needed.
Amaç: Son yıllarda Türkiye'de yapılan çalışmalarda, H.pylori eradikasyon tedavilerinin başarısının belirgin olarak azaldığı dikkati çekmektedir. Eradikasyon tedavilerinin başarısını etkileyen en ...önemli faktörlerden biri olan klaritromisin direnci artmakta, bu nedenle de başarısı yüksek olan tedavilerin belirlenmesi giderek daha da önem kazanmaktadır. Bu çalışmanın amacı, iki haftalık ranitidin bizmut sitrat (RBS), amoksisilin (A) ve klaritromisin (K) tedavisinin H.pylori eradikasyonundaki etkinliğinin ve K direncinin, eradikasyondaki rolünün değerlendirilmesidir. Yöntem: Üreaz testi ve histopatolojik yöntemle H.pylori pozitif bulunan 45 dispeptik hasta çalışmaya alındı. K direnci, antral biyopsi örneklerinde real-time PCR yöntemi ile çalışıldı. Hastalara iki hafta süreyle, RBS: 2x400mg, A: 2x1000mg ve K: 2x500mg verildi. Tedavinin tamamlanmasından en az bir ay sonra endoskopi tekrarlandı. Antrum ve korpustan alınan biyopsilerde, üreaz testi ve histopatolojik yöntemle H.pylori araştırıldı. Tüm örneklerde her iki testin de negatif bulunduğu hastalarda, H.pylori eradikasyonun sağlandığı kabul edildi. Bulgular: İki hasta takipten çıktı. Kontrola gelen 43 hastanın 22'si erkek, 21'i kadın olup, yaş ortalaması 46.3 ± 11.5 idi. Yirmi (%46.5) hastada hafif yan etkiler meydana geldi. Toplam 35 hastada (%81.4) H. pylori eradikasyonu sağlandı. K direnci 26 hastada çalışıldı. Bu olgulardan 10'u (%38.5) K'e dirençli bulundu. K'e duyarlı olguların %81.3'ünde (13/16), dirençli olanların ise %80'inde (8/10) H.pylori eradike edildi (p>0.05). Sonuç: H.pylori eradikasyonunda iki haftalık RBSA- K tedavisi, K direnci olan hastalarda bile oldukça etkilidir. Bu sonuç, Türkiye'de H.pylori eradikasyonunda RBS-A-K kombinasyonunun tercih edilmesi gerektiğini düşündürmektedir.
Background/aims: Recent studies in Turkey have documented the noticeably low success rates of H. pylori eradication. It has become more important to identify the highly successful therapy regimens since clarithromycin resistance, one of the most important factors affecting the success rate of eradication therapies, continues to increase. The aim of this study was to assess the efficacy of two-week therapy with ranitidine bismuth citrate (RBC), amoxicillin (A), and clarithromycin (C) on H. pylori eradication, and the role of C resistance in eradication. Methods: The study included 45 dyspeptic patients with H. pylori diagnosed by urease test and histopathological examination. C resistance was studied by real-time PCR method on antral biopsy specimens. All patients were treated with a two-week therapy consisting of RBC: 2x400 mg, A: 2x1000 mg, and C: 2x500 mg, daily. Endoscopy was repeated at least one month after the end of the treatment. Presence of H. pylori was investigated by urease test and histopathological examination on antrum and corpus biopsies. Eradication was considered when both tests were negative for H. pylori in all specimens. Results: Two cases were lost to follow-up. The average age of the remaining 43 patients (22 males, 21 females) was 46.3 ± 11.5 years. Mild side effects were encountered in 20 (46.5%) patients. Eradication was achieved in 35 (81.4%) patients. C resistance was studied in 26 patients and was detected in 10 (38.5%) of them. H. pylori eradication rate was 81.3% in C-sensitive (13/16) and 80% in C-resistant patients (8/10) (p>0.05). Conclusion: A two-week regimen of RBC-A-C is very effective for H. pylori eradication even in C-resistant patients. These results suggest that RBC-A-C combination should be preferred for H. pylori eradication in Turkey.
Thin films of Bismuth oxyiodide (BiOI) were deposited, using chemical bath deposition techniques. The films were characterized using energy dispersive x-ray fluorescence (EDXRF) and Fourier transform ...infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy for chemical composition, and a spectrophotometer for the analysis of spectral absorbance / transmittance / reflectance.
Deposited film thickness ranged between 0.115 and 0.140 $\mu m$. The optical properties deduced from the spectral absorbance / transmittance / reflectance include the maximum values of the refractive index n that ranged between 2.62 and 2.64, the extinction coefficient k ranged between 25.84 x $10^{-3}$ and 42.92 x $10^{-3}$ while the Optical conductivity a ranged between 0.60 x $10^{14} S^{-1}$ and 0.75 x $10^{14} S^{-1}$.
The spectral analysis revealed that some of the films grown are poor transmitters of UV but have good transmission in the VIS-NIR regions. Some of the films show transmittance above 78% in the VIS-NIR regions and a wide band gap that ranged between 3.20 and 3.40 eV. In the mid infrared regions transmittance ranged between 3 and 37%. These properties make the film potential material for poultry protection and warming coatings, solar control and antireflection coatings and as well material for solar cell fabrication.

Amaç: Türkiye'de erişkin populasyonda Helikobakter pilori infeksiyonu %80 den fazla oranda gözlenir. Bu çalışmanın amacı 1) tanısal testlerin önemini değerlendirmek 2) Hp infeksiyonu ile dispepsi ...ilişkisini araştırmaktır. Method: Fonksiyonel dispepsisi olan toplam 75 hasta çalışmaya dahil edildi. Hp tanısı histopatoloji ile kondu. Tüm hastalara aynı zamanda CLO, sitoloji, kültür, gaita antijeni ve nefes testi uygulandı. Tüm hastalara Roma II kriterlerine göre semptom skorlaması yapıldı. Hastalara ranitidin bizmut sitrat(400md bid9, klaritromisin(500mg bid) ve amoksisilin(1000mg bid) 14 gün boyunca uygulandı. Tüm testler ve semptom skoru 1 ve 6. aylarda tekrarlandı. Sonuçlar: Eradikasyon oranı %95.9 olarak bulundu. Başlangıç spesifiteleri nefes testi, CLO, sitoloji, kültür ve gaita antijeni için sırası ile %87.3, %95.4, %95.4, %94.5 ve %86.4 olarak bulundu. Aynı testlerin 1 ay sonraki sensitiviteleri 86.1%, 100%, 100%, 100%, 84.7% bulunurken, 6. ayda ise 91.6%, 100%, 100%, 100%, 87.5% şeklinde idi. Semptom skorları başlangıç, birinci ve altıncı aylarda sırası ile; 29.6±5.4, 15.8±4.7 ve 17.9±5.3 olarak bulundu(p<0.001). Yorum: Hp eradikasyonundaki başarı bizmutun ilaç rezistansı önleyici etkisi ile ilişkili olabilir. Histopatoloji, CLO, sitoloji ve kültür tanı koymakta etkilidir. CLO ve sitoloji sonuçları histopatoloji ile koreledir. Gaita antijeni ve nefes testi kabul edilebilir testker olmasına karşın diğer tanısal testlerden daha az etkili gibi görünmektedir. Semptom skorları tedavi ardından 6. ayda artmakla birlikte hala başlangıç değerlerinden anlamlı düşük seyretmektedir.
Background/Aims: Helicobacter pylori infection, is seen in more than 80% of adult population in Turkey. The aims of this study were 1) to evaluate the importance of the diagnostic tests 2) to investigate the relationship between Hp infection and functional dyspepsia. Methods: A total 75 patients with functional-dyspepsia were involved into the study. Hp infection was diagnosed by histopathological examination. CLO, cytology, culture, stool antigen and breath test. Symptom score using ROME II criteria was also evaluated to all patients. All patients were taken ranitidine-bismuth-citrate (400mg bid/day), clarithromycin (500mg bid/day) and amoxicillin (1000mg bid/day) for 14 days. All tests and symptom score analyses were re-applied at month 1and 6. Results: The eradication rate was 95.9%. The baseline specifity of breath test, CLO, cytology, culture and stool antigen were 87.3%, 95.4%, 95.4% 94.5% and 86.4%, respectively. The sensitivity of such tests at first month after stopping the treatment were 86.1%, 100%, 100%, 100%, 84.7%, respectively, and were 91.6%, 100%, 100%, 100%, 87.5%, respectively at six months after treatment. Symptom scores were 29.6±5.4, 15.8±4.7 and 17.9±5.3 at baseline, first month and six months after treatment, respectively (p<0.001). Conclusions: The success of eradication may be related to use of bismuth which prevents antibiotic resistance development. Stool antigen and breath tests are less effective than invasive diagnostic-tests. The finding of improved symptomscores after eradication suggests that Hp may play a role in functional dyspepsia.
A 16-years-old girl admitted to our emergency unit with complaints of nausea and vomiting. From her history, we learned that she had ingested 35 tablets (10.5 g) of colloidal bismuth subcitrate (CBS) ...(De-Nol) in a suicidal attempt 7 days ago. On admission, her physical examination findings were unremarkable. Her laboratory findings were blood urea nitrogen (BUN) 76.0 mg/dl, serum creatinine (Cr) was 19.2 mg/dl and serum bismuth level was 395 µg/L. Intravenous fluid and electrolytes, hemodialysis (HD) and penicillamine as a chelator agent was initiated. Then, continuous veno-venous hemodiafiltration (CVVHDF) was performed during 72 hours. On the 3rd day the CVVHDF treatment BUN and Cr values decreased to 14 mg/dl and 0.78 mg/dl, respectively. This case report showed that CVVHDF can be an alternative therapy for acute kidney injury due to CBS intoxication when complications observed in HD. On altı yaşında kız hasta bulantı ve kusma yakınmaları ile acil servisimize başvurdu. Öyküsünden, 7 gün önce intihar amaçlı 35 adet De-Nol tablet (10,5 gr kolloidal bizmut subsitrat) aldığı öğrenildi. Başvuru anındaki fizik muayene bulguları normal olarak değerlendirildi. Laboratuar tetkiklerinde; BUN 76 mg/dl, kreatinin 19.2 mg/dl ve serum bizmut düzeyi 395 µg/lt idi. Hastaya sıvı ve elektrolit tedavisi, hemodiyaliz tedavisi ve şelatör ajan olarak penisilamin tedavileri başlandı. Daha sonra, 72 saat süreyle sürekli venö-venöz hemodiyafiltrasyon tedavisi uygulandı. Üç günlük hemodiyafiltrasyon tedavisi sonunda BUN: 14 mg/dl ve serum kreatinin düzeyi 0.78 mg/dl'ye geriledi. Penisilamin tedavisinin 14. gününde serum bizmut düzeyi 32 µg/L'ye düştü. Bu vaka; kolloidal bizmut subsitrat intoksikasyonu sonucu gelişen akut böbrek hasarının tedavisinde hemodiyaliz yan etkileri gözlendiğinde hemodiyafiltrasyonun alternatif bir tedavi yöntemi olabileceğini göstermiştir.
