The paper describes the evolution of an enterprise engineering / architecture approach and solution through three case studies, emphasising the contributions of lessons learnt from each case study to ...this evolution, each presented with results used as input for refinement. The decade of experience with what could very much be dubbed ’enterprise modelling’, the extent of the effort combining frameworks and methods to model and capture the current state of the enterprise, and the apparent maturity (if only in practical terms) of the ’solution’ is well described and it is easy to follow the advancement throughout the entire process. Along the way the author has ran into a number of known, quite formidable challenges in the field of business analysis and enterprise engineering. The case studies focus on practical orientation and highlights lessons learnt for each step. The paper results in an interesting and detailed conclusion.

Appraisers have been stably done their jobs for 35 years according to the needs of the country. The number of appraiser and the size of appraisal market have been increased by 2,500 persons and 500 ...billion won, respectively. Developing new areas of the appraisal business is essence to appraisers business because of social and economic environmental change. However appraisers hesitate to expand their business into the other market in spite of they have high competition each other in their business. Appraisers have to cooperate with the specialists of the other business, such as lawyers and certified public accountants. In the research, we interviewed specialists and asked them about the cooperation with appraisers. Most of the specialists are in favour of business affiliations with an appraiser. Therefore appraisers have to expand a new business area with a positive attitude. Otherwise, other specialists try slowly and easily to invade the appraisers business. Appraisers have to make an effort to protect the existing business area. In order to protect their interest, appraisers have to increase R&D investment and strengthen their professionalism. Also, it is important that appraisers realize the threat of their survivals.
We construct a simple model of fiscal competition taking `rent-seeking' behavior of local governments into account and estimate a policy reaction function based on the model. We consider the scale of ...public input as each local government's policy tool. Local autonomies' method of seeking central grants often takes the form of personnel exchange with central government. Our estimation of the policy reaction function suggests that such personnel exchange has an effect on the development of industrial parks.
This chapter presents the Control Activities Template. It lists the policies and procedures that apply to the process. It provides a readiness checklist. There is a similarity of questions from ...process to process because the readiness questions are generally aimed at ensuring the basic requirements exist. Regardless of whether detailed control activities are scheduled for a process, the process owner should review their responses to the readiness checklist at least annually. Each business area and/or process owner must have sufficient documentation and evidence to support their readiness checklist or self‐assessment responses.
The real work of defining the solution to the business problem of a business analyst is in the elicitation to gather the information on which to base the analysis and the analysis that produces the ...solution. Writing it down is almost anti‐climatic. However, when the documented version of the solution is poorly written, ambiguous, redundant, imprecise, un‐testable, verbose, and generally unreadable, all the work done to create the best solution ever is for naught. The solution when implemented will still be wrong. The heavy lifting has been done at this point. When a business analyst does everything that is stated in the solution, the problem is solved. The solution may exist in an informal format—yellow‐lined paper, notes, sketches—and now it is time to convert all of it to the formal, persistent, formatted, official solution document. This chapter reviews various options to document the solution. It also discusses the value of documenting solution, forms of solution documentation, and some considerations that need to be kept in mind while documenting solution.
