IntroductionA conflict arises when one or more individuals, groups or organizations disagree, creating internal or external tensions that can cause damage. This is particularly serious in operating ...theatres, where decisions involving life or death are common. Indeed, in this particular context, the multiplicity of stakeholders, the divergence of opinions and decisions related to patient care, the frequency of critical situations, stress and the limitation of resources are established causes of disagreement and tension.ObjectivesTo identify factors associated with the alteration of conflict management quality among anesthesia and resuscitation technicians (ART).MethodsThis is an observational, multicenter, cross-sectional and analytical study, enrolling all ART exercising at the two teaching hospitals of Sousse (Tunisia) over a two month period(March 1, 2022 to April 30, 2022). Conflict management was assessed using the Conflict Handling Style Scale.ResultsOur study involved 50 participants, only eight of whom reported having had previous training in communication and conflict management. Conflicts in the hospital were rated frequent to very frequent by 58% of participants. Task conflicts were the most reported (74%). The main causes of conflict were lack of leadership (60%), unequal distribution of tasks (42%) and workload (28%). The main repercussions of the conflicts were the delay in patients care (60%), therapeutic errors (42%), and the cancellation or postponement of some acts (34%). The main factors associated with impaired conflict management abilities were age<40 years (p=0,03), tobacco consumption (p=0,001), and number of dependent children<2 p<10-3).ConclusionsIn light of our results, it would be useful and urgent to develop the soft skills of our human resources, particularly in terms of communication and conflict management.Disclosure of InterestNone Declared

In the aftermath of a civil war, former enemies are left living side by side-and often the enemy is a son-in-law, a godfather, an old schoolmate, or the community that lies just across the valley. ...Though the internal conflict in Peru at the end of the twentieth century was incited and organized by insurgent Senderistas, the violence and destruction were carried out not only by Peruvian armed forces but also by civilians. In the wake of war, any given Peruvian community may consist of ex-Senderistas, current sympathizers, widows, orphans, army veterans-a volatile social landscape. These survivors, though fully aware of the potential danger posed by their neighbors, must nonetheless endeavor to live and labor alongside their intimate enemies. Drawing on years of research with communities in the highlands of Ayacucho, Kimberly Theidon explores how Peruvians are rebuilding both individual lives and collective existence following twenty years of armed conflict.Intimate Enemiesrecounts the stories and dialogues of Peruvian peasants and Theidon's own experiences to encompass the broad and varied range of conciliatory practices: customary law before and after the war, the practice ofarrepentimiento(publicly confessing one's actions and requesting pardon from one's peers), a differentiation between forgiveness and reconciliation, and the importance of storytelling to make sense of the past and recreate moral order. The micropolitics of reconciliation in these communities present an example of postwar coexistence that deeply complicates the way we understand transitional justice, moral sensibilities, and social life in the aftermath of war. Any effort to understand postconflict reconstruction must be attuned to devastation as well as to human tenacity for life.
In troubled societies narratives about the past tend to be partial and explain a conflict from narrow perspectives that justify the national self and condemn, exclude and devalue the 'enemy' and ...their narrative. Through a detailed analysis, Teaching Contested Narratives reveals the works of identity, historical narratives and memory as these are enacted in classroom dialogues, canonical texts and school ceremonies. Presenting ethnographic data from local contexts in Cyprus and Israel, and demonstrating the relevance to educational settings in countries which suffer from conflicts all over the world, the authors explore the challenges of teaching narratives about the past in such societies, discuss how historical trauma and suffering are dealt with in the context of teaching, and highlight the potential of pedagogical interventions for reconciliation. The book shows how the notions of identity, memory and reconciliation can perpetuate or challenge attachments to essentialized ideas about peace and conflict.

Litigios. Pensamento sistemico. Meios alternativos a solucao de conflitos. Solucao adequada. The latest report issued by the National Council of Justice (2021) presents us, in numbers, the reality experienced by specialized courts, among which are family courts responsible for conflicts of a family nature. With regard to the amount of demand presented by instruments for defending family conflicts, we have a congestion rate of 69%. The high rates reinforce the perception that conflicts of a family nature are on the rise, making it necessary to think about the implementation of new techniques and methods in search of conflict resolution, replacing the traditional view of win and lose, as unlike other types of conflicts, those of a family nature, are based on relationships with bonds of affection and consanguinity, which require the parties to maintain bonds that do not end with the conflict. This research aims to analyze the importance of correct conflict management which, by proposing techniques and methods based on their specificities, is capable of better resolving disputes. The research methodology requires a bibliographical review as well as a visit to the legal provisions on the subject, factors that will allow us to consider the application of methods and techniques capable of meeting the needs of those involved in family conflict in search of solving their real needs and putting end to the conflict. The basis of this research is based on the recognition that the time has come to recognize the dissatisfaction generated by the traditional method of establishing a winner and a loser when searching for a solution to family conflicts as opposed to systemic thinking and the various techniques and methods that can be applied to Law. Keywords: Family conflicts. Disputes. Systems thinking. Alternative means of resolving conflicts. Appropriate solution.

Since the end of the Rwandan genocide, the new political elite has been challenged with building a unified nation. Reaching beyond the better-studied topics of post-conflict justice and memory, the ...book investigates the project of civic education, the upsurge of state-led neo-traditional institutions and activities, and the use of camps and retreats shape the "ideal" Rwandan citizen. Rwanda's ingando camps offer unique insights into the uses of dislocation and liminality in an attempt to anchor identities and desired political roles, to practically orient and symbolically place individuals in the new Rwandan order, and, ultimately, to create additional platforms for the reproduction of political power itself.
This textbook provides a comprehensive overview of different methods and sources of information-gathering for peace and conflict students and researchers, as well as the challenges presented by such ...work.
Research on conflict-ridden societies carries special challenges for the collection and evaluation of information about the conflict and its actors. First, due to the nature of information emerging, incentives to misrepresent and propaganda is common. News coverage is sometimes poor and reporting is often incomplete, selective and biased. Second, the sensitivity of the topic and the questions posed in peace and conflict research means that access to and the security of informants can be a problem.
Peace and conflict research as a discipline encompasses a number of different approaches for obtaining empirical information which serve as a basis for analyzing various research topics. This book provides a comprehensive overview of different methods and sources of information-gathering for students and researchers, as well as the challenges presented by such work. It offers:
tools for evaluating sources and information
suggestions on where different types of information can be found
advice on using different types of sources, including news reports and written narratives
practical guidelines for constructing large-scale datasets
insights and guidelines for comparative fieldwork, in-depth interviews, focus groups, and surveys
reflection and discussion on important ethical concerns in peace research
This book will be of much interest for students and researchers of peace and conflict studies, conflict resolution, war and conflict studies, development studies, security studies and IR, as well as for NGO workers/researchers.

In addition to particular components that generate it, mexican family is permeated by the country's cultural transformation processes. The objective of this research is to study the sociocultural ...elements that have an affect in family relational dynamics and also produced its evolution about communication strategies and family conflict management skills, all this through systematic documentary review at primary sources. who study the transformative phenomenon that has notably modified the relational dynamics within Mexican families. As a result of this work, it has been found that Mexican cultural and social transformations requires new approaches to determine relational patterns and the configuration of family coexistence strategies based on new family models, the democratization of decision-making, and the recognition of childrens as interesting participants in family dynamics.
