Without doubt, one of the most outstanding piece of the goliard poetry is the anonymous poem which nowadays become known as Phyllis et Flora (Altercatio Phyllidis et Florae). It was preserved to us ...in many manuscripts, whose each one contains parts of diff erent length of this poem. One of these copies especially diff ers from any of others: it preserves a complete poem that begins with the eight initial stanzas of the original poem, and continues with seven new-composed stanzas until its end. After the discovery of this manuscript, it become part of the tradition of the poem although it was considered just as a very corrupt witness of the poem’s fi rst eight stanzas. However, in the recent past, thanks to a lucky occasion, it was discovered a second copy of this variant poem, transcribed at the same period as the already known one. Th e new discovery fundamentally changes our relation to the variant: the new copy has made it obvious, that this is not a peculiar composition of the fantasy of its scribe, but a self-suffi cient late variant of the original poem, which had been supposedly more widespread, than its traces testify. Not only the radical alteration of its length, but – due to its late construction – that of its content and thought is also remarkable.

The study is based on the methodological principles of social culturology, which involves the consideration of artworks as individual realization cases of cultural forms. The article uses materials from the photo exhibition „Hope. Family. Community”. This Ukrainian Polish project is designed to draw attention to the problems and needs of people affected by the military conflict in Eastern Ukraine. The article is devoted to the problem of cultural resistance and modernization of Ukrainian national identity in the conditions of intensification of imperial grip in the post-UNR period, after ...national revolution. It deals with the strategies of coexistence with the winners, which were developed in the community of neoclassics in Kyiv, about the preservation of cultural sovereignty while demonstrating political loyalty to the regime. The concept of cultural resistance is interpreted with the additional analytical tools of post-colonial studies and memory studies. Neoclassicists, especially Mykola Zerov, focused on the Europe centered trends in the country’s literature. Kyiv became a place of privilege in the poetry of Zerov and Rylskyi. For this creative community the city was still the cultural capital, and the revanchist divestiture of the city’s capital status was perceived as an act of victors’ revenge. The literary life itself appears to be an invariant of the inner emigration of neoclassics. The addressee of their texts was imagined as a privileged reader, which also meant resistance to dominant concepts of mass, proletarian art.
At a time when Ukraine, even with some lag behind other European countries, is beginning to finally lose its traditional folklore, its practical museification is a crucial task. One of the most ...important tasks of this process is to explain the preserved and reconstruct forgotten rites in their song context. Kupala needs an important place among the urgent issues of such an understanding. The polysemy of this word itself testifies both to its antiquity and to the gradual path to the loss of some meanings. The analysis of similar holidays among the peoples of Europe shows that the Ukrainian holiday with this name has absorbed many meanings that could belong to other calendar holidays or were transferred from Ukraine and occasionally adapted to other dates or occasions. The material for the analysis were only texts that have a direct mention of the dome in its various forms. The Ukrainian token Kupala has several meanings: the name of the holiday, a ceremonial tree, a pile of bushes for the Kupala hearth, Kupala songs are called kupala in the far northwest. The lyrics associate the word with such ceremonial content as weaving wreaths, lighting a bonfire by a young woman and keeping it for three days, jumping over a fire, girls fighting for boys, orgiastic actions of young people („purchase sin”) and even natural punishment for it by abdominal pain, witchcraft is often mentioned.
The article is an attempt to decode a literary text to identify an individual psychological content in it. On the basis of philological and psychological analysis it is proved that Shevchenko’s ...linguistic identity is characterized by two types of accentuation – emotive and affective-exalted. At the level of the text it is seen in the high frequency of emotions: tears, crying, in the repetition of verbal formulas containing motivational and volitional qualities, as well as in a peculiar syntactic and intonational phrase organization.
