A Davidsonian version of Dissemination and Abandonment is an essay that argues for the agreement between Davidson and Derrida on the fluidity and play of ascriptions of meaning in language. ...Davidson's account of language and interpretation guarantees that natural languages will be disseminative, meaning that meanings are not stable and can evolve over time. The essay also discusses the concept of iteration, where an utterance or inscription is copied but can have different force and truth conditions from the original. The essay provides examples of iterations that have different references and meanings, such as biblical passages and recitations of the Pledge of Allegiance. Overall, the essay highlights the inherent fluidity and instability of language and meaning.

Design
Discussion paper that includes a discussion and review of the literature related to global health and global nursing.
Data sources
A task force searched for and reviewed articles published in English, Spanish or Portuguese between 2005‐2015, developed summaries, listed key elements, identified prevalent themes and developed consensus definitions.
Implications for nursing
The definitions will be used by the Global Advisory Panel on the Future of Nursing to guide promoting a voice and vision for nursing that will contribute to the advancement of the profession's contribution to global health.
Conclusions
Definitions of global health and global nursing were developed based on main themes and concepts identified in the literature review to guide contributions of nursing to global health.
Auxiliary words, which are important building blocks of a language, are extremely important for creating meaningful units in the language. While these auxiliary words are sometimes considered as a ...whole, sometimes they are evaluated under a separate heading. Whether these auxiliary elements are evaluated under a separate heading or as a whole, auxiliary elements are extremely important in creating the sentence and establishing more complex meaning relationships in the sentences. The auxiliary element is extremely important. Conjunctions, which we can evaluate as, are one of the indispensable elements of the language in order to act with all word types in the sentence and to determine all aspects of the judgment to be expressed and to deepen the meaning. In this context, the structure, origin and meaning of conjunctions in a language are important for that language. In this study, the usage of the conjunction as a term, the concept of conjunction, the conjunctions of Uzbek Turkic and the origin of these conjunctions were emphasized, the conjunctions in Uzbek Turkic were classified according to their origins, this classification was converted into statistical data and the obtained findings were compared.
The ubiquity of the term CSR threatens its carrying any distinctive meaning. Despite its long history no consensus has been developed among the industry participants, academics or other interested ...parties. After a careful review of the complications and complexities of the CSR debate and distinct disciplinary definitions, the article turns to approach the problem of definition using the philosophy of science. It applies a scientific definitional approach of genus, differentia and species to arrive at a definition of CSR as international private business self-regulation. The article provides an overview of the implications of this definition on CSR as a field of study, a management practice and an approach to improving the dialogue concerning the social contribution of business.
We offer a qualitative synthesis of 208 definitions of innovation using a grounded theory approach to arrive at a unified definition of innovation. The data analysis provided seven broad themes ...underlying the definitions of innovations, i.e., creative potential, motivation, action, psychological processes, ecological processes, newness, and outcomes in the form of value creation, competitive advantage, harnessing of technology or invention, and economic growth. A code co-occurrence analysis suggests newness as the most commonly occurring and consistently connected theme across sample definitions. We analyze the association between derived themes within the broad relational framework of input, intervening processes, and output to derive an integrative definition. We define innovation as the operationalization of creative potential with a commercial and/or social motive by implementing new adaptive solutions that create value, harness new technology or invention, contribute to competitive advantage and economic growth. The present research contributes toward a unified definition of innovation.

We provide a standardized set of terminology, definitions, and thresholds of myopia and its main ocular complications.
Critical review of current terminology and choice of myopia thresholds was done ...to ensure that the proposed standards are appropriate for clinical research purposes, relevant to the underlying biology of myopia, acceptable to researchers in the field, and useful for developing health policy.
We recommend that the many descriptive terms of myopia be consolidated into the following descriptive categories: myopia, secondary myopia, axial myopia, and refractive myopia. To provide a framework for research into myopia prevention, the condition of "pre-myopia" is defined. As a quantitative trait, we recommend that myopia be divided into myopia (i.e., all myopia), low myopia, and high myopia. The current consensus threshold value for myopia is a spherical equivalent refractive error ≤ -0.50 diopters (D), but this carries significant risks of classification bias. The current consensus threshold value for high myopia is a spherical equivalent refractive error ≤ -6.00 D. "Pathologic myopia" is proposed as the categorical term for the adverse, structural complications of myopia. A clinical classification is proposed to encompass the scope of such structural complications.
Standardized definitions and consistent choice of thresholds are essential elements of evidence-based medicine. It is hoped that these proposals, or derivations from them, will facilitate rigorous, evidence-based approaches to the study and management of myopia.
In 2008, articles by Bell and Schroeder provided an initial platform from which to develop a coherent definition of the term 'virtual worlds'. Yet over the past ten years, there has been little ...development of the term. Instead there is confusion in the literature, with the introduction of new terms which are at times used to classify the type of virtual world and at others are used synonymously with the term. At the same time there has been a resurgence of interest in the potential of virtual reality which further muddies the conceptual waters. While the lack of a clear and common understanding of a term is not uncommon, there are implications for researchers and practitioners. To address these issues, this paper presents a new framework for the definition of virtual worlds, arguing what it is for a world to be virtual, the user experience that is a necessary part of this and the technical features which afford this. For the first time the relationships between commonly confused terms and technologies are identified to provide a much needed conceptual clarity for researchers and educators.
Stakeholder theory is widely accepted but elementary aspects remain indeterminate as the term 'stakeholder' is an essentially contested concept (Miles, J Bus Ethics 108:285-298, 2012; Mitchell, Organ ...Stud 33:1407-1411, 2012), being variously describable, internally complex and open in character (Gallie, Proc Aristot Soc 56:167-198, 1956). Such contestability is highly problematic for theory development and empirical testing. The extent of essential contestability, previously unknown, is demonstrated in this paper through a bounded systematic review of 593 different stakeholder theory definitions. As an essentially contested concept, the solution does not lie in a universal stakeholder definition, but in debating the boundaries of stakeholder identification. To this end, this paper presents the first major attempt at sorting, filtering and ordering stakeholder theory and stakeholder definitions to produce a comprehensive, multi-dimensional classification of stakeholder theory. The constructs of the classification model juxtapose existing stakeholder theories and contributions from across the multicontextual applications of stakeholder theory, thereby providing an invaluable overview of what we know about stakeholder theory in one model. The classification model is then tested with positive results. The paper concludes with a comprehensive discussion of the implications of classification stakeholder theory definitions, which has for future research.
A popular goal in psychological science is to understand human cognition and behavior in the 'real-world.' In contrast, researchers have typically conducted their research in experimental research ...settings, a.k.a. the 'psychologist's laboratory.' Critics have often questioned whether psychology's laboratory experiments permit generalizable results. This is known as the 'real-world or the lab'-dilemma. To bridge the gap between lab and life, many researchers have called for experiments with more 'ecological validity' to ensure that experiments more closely resemble and generalize to the 'real-world.' However, researchers seldom explain what they mean with this term, nor how more ecological validity should be achieved. In our opinion, the popular concept of ecological validity is ill-formed, lacks specificity, and falls short of addressing the problem of generalizability. To move beyond the 'real-world or the lab'-dilemma, we believe that researchers in psychological science should always specify the particular context of cognitive and behavioral functioning in which they are interested, instead of advocating that experiments should be more 'ecologically valid' in order to generalize to the 'real-world.' We believe this will be a more constructive way to uncover the context-specific and context-generic principles of cognition and behavior.

Based on the acceptance of the importance of clear definitions and concepts, we explore conventional definitions of accounting and chart their change and development. While accounting's definitions ...have evolved, they do not, in our view, adequately reflect accounting as social and moral practice but rather continue to position accounting as a technical practice, despite the valuable work of key accounting scholars particularly over the last four decades. We highlight the social and moral aspects of accounting and propose a new definition of accounting for the 2020s to stimulate discussion, debate and improvement. In our opinion, accounting has a way to go to reach its true potential.
