The Siddhar sect has been deep-rooted in the Tamil world for a long time. The famous poet Mahakavi Bharati prides himself on being a Siddhan from the Mulan tradition. The thoughts of the Siddhars are ...notable among the periodical records. Sivayoga Siddhar, who came from the Siddhar tradition in Sri Lanka, is a great Siddhar spoken not only in Sri Lanka but also in many countries like the United States. Hawai Atheena (Pontif) Sadhguru was also a spiritual sage who revived the minds of over two million Sri Lankans in 1998 during the reign of Sivaya Subramania Swami. Many changes in human life have been caused by scientific development, rapid living conditions, and civilization. Thus, today is surrounded by confusion, turmoil, biological problems, worries etc. In this context, the author's expectation is to convey to the community the benefits of Shiva worship and the charitable practices both religious and social to ensure harmony and peace.
Knowledge about Mary's appearance, which shapes apparition experiences, is transmitted primarily via well-known images, which themselves are increasingly representations of visions. Though there has ...been increased homogenization of images of Mary in the twentieth century resulting from template distribution and the way the psychology of recognition works, Mary is still consistently made specific to a place, to carry uniquely identifiable features which may also articulate local political and theological stances. As long as the apparitions are still taking place, these features may be in flux; the process by which they jell is termed "iconization," the social process of agreeing on one image as the recognizable face of Mary at a certain apparition site. Medjugorje, the most important active Marian apparition site since the late twentieth century, is unique in that several images compete there for iconic status. Though power structures play an important role in determining which images become icons, this essay emphasizes the balancing act between universal and particular traits which constrains the options of the key players producing the images.

The power of pictures cannot be understood by a sole focus on pictures, but needs to be based on a relational and contextual approach that probes into the constitution of human-picture relations ...through broader politics of representation, modes of governance, and practices of animation at specific times and places. Pleading for a broadened approach of 'visual culture' that acknowledges the role of Christianity in spreading a Christian imaginary and organizing pictorial practices throughout the globe, this essay analyzes pictorial practices around the Sacred Heart of Jesus and other Jesus pictures in everyday life in Ghana. Such pictures are at the center of religious practices of mediation through which spiritual presence is effected. Adapted from the source document.
This article is intended to deal with the (re) affirmation of devotion to Catholic saints in the sixteenth century Portuguese America, in particular the spread of devotion to St Ursula and the Eleven ...Thousand Virgins, driven mainly by the presence of the Society of Jesus in this location. These missionaries were responsible for spreading various religious practices - such as parties dedicated to Catholic saints and the transfer of relics - as well as by encouraging the establishment and maintenance of "places of worship”, as the fraternities or sororities, in the fourth part of the orbe. We will deal specially with this last aspect, from the study of the founding of the Confraternity of the Eleven Thousand Virgins in the colony.
This article focuses on the enigma of Catholic Marian revolutionary movements during the decade-long conflict on the island of Bougainville, Papua New Guinea at the end of the twentieth century. ...These religious movements embody the legacy of a colonial history as well as people’s responses to poorly monitored resource extraction, social and economic displacement, regional factionalism, and years of fighting by Bougainvilleans against the Papua New Guinea Defence Force. At the same time, the movements’ popularity throve on leaders’ reputations for their religious knowledge and their mobilization of people based on religious faith. During the conflict Bougainville came to be seen by many residents as holy land (Me’ekamui). According to Francis Ona’s Marian Mercy Mission and Peter Kira’s Our Lady of Mercy movements, the covenant land of Bougainville had to be safeguarded from Satan, represented by Papua New Guinea and an Australian copper mining company, in the freedom struggle conceived as a Marian holy war.

Rather, my contention is that "arguments from silence are weakened to the degree that an event or tradition is less prominent during a particular source's lifetime and therefore less likely to be ...mentioned in their written records" (p. 250). ...the fact that Guadalupan devotion was decidedly local during its first century of development is an important consideration in assessing the relative weight of arguments from silence about it. ...it was indeed a localized devotion over the first century of its development. ...the fact that various sources report other miraculous events among indigenous peoples, which Father Poole notes in his response, does not invalidate the issue I posed.
In 1505, Jorge Coci reprinted in Zaragoza Andrés de Li’s Summa de paciencia . Its sole pictorial element is a single, full-page image of Christ as the Man of Sorrows, also known as the Imago pietatis .... This essay explores how this image is actualized through the technologies of reading and visualization. Unlike previous studies of Summa de paciencia , this article will study how Andrés de Li incorporated Passion-centered devotional techniques into his treatise on the virtue of Christian Patience. This type of Christocentric spirituality did not play a major role in most medieval treatises on Patience, where the emphasis is traditionally on exemplary sufferance by individuals facing adversity. The distinctiveness of Li’s text resides in its incorporation of Passion-centered techniques within the framework of an exploration of the virtue of Patience. Further, through the medium of print Li and his printer offered laypeople “ways of seeing” their faith through devotional activities focused on the suffering Christ.
The purpose of this dedication is to overcome the problems at SMP Al Inayah and Islamic Junior High School PGRI Tutur. The problem in both schools is the lack of learning media in the form of props ...or other innovative media. Students learn math more through direct explanation by teachers who are dominated by giving lectures. Considering the students' lack of understanding in the set matter it is necessary to hold a manipulative media training activity at SMP Al Inayah Purwosari and Islamic Junior High School PGRI Tutur on the set material. Students in this area desperately need a refresher related to instructional design, in order to develop their conceptual comprehension skills which leads to improving students' mathematics learning outcomes on the subject matter using Venn Smart Diagram media. Benefits of this devotion is the benefits gained among students obtaining learning with manipulative media that are rarely implemented so that students' understanding of the material set increases. Increased understanding of concepts and student learning outcomes in the set material that is marked with 90% of junior high school students Al Inayah and 88% of students of Islamic Junior High School PGRI Tutur can solve the problem set well.
As an additional note to other studies on medieval Marian poetry, this article explores the topic of the ‘pre-creation’ of the Virgin Mary, ab initio creata, in certain Castilian cancionero lyric poems, highlighting, in particular, their poetic affiliation with early medieval texts.
