E-students' satisfaction significantly affects the success of e-learning adoption and leads to quality improvement of e-courses. E-students' satisfaction also highly impacts student learning ...performance and learning activities in e-courses. However, many previous studies focused on e-student satisfaction factors in developed countries and in some big cities in Vietnam in normal educational contexts. Limited research emphasized top-ranking factors for e-students' satisfaction in emergency remote learning (ERL) in universities in rural regions in Mekong Delta using machine learning methods. Thus, this study aimed to identify crucial factors affecting e-students' satisfaction in ERL in a public university in rural areas of Mekong Delta in Vietnam by using Random Forests (RF) and Support Vector Machine (SVM) algorithms. This study used a 5-point Likert e-survey including 28 items allocated to four scales: 1) Course designs, (2) Infrastructure and technology, (3) Teacher-student interaction; and (4) Lecturers to collect research data. The employed data included responses of 916 e-students from multi departments of the target university during the second semester of the 2021/2022 academic year. The results displayed that RF (94.47%) outperformed SVM (91.15%). The crucial factors were mainly related to infrastructure and technology, materials, and teacher-student interaction, especially feedback and evaluation. The outcomes of this study provide sustainable e-learning in the post-pandemic educational context. The proposed prediction models inform policy-makers and e-learning program designers in a long-term strategy that meets e-leaners' needs in order to attract more e-students and maintain e-student retention.
This research developed electronic student worksheet (e-student worksheet) based on POE (Predict, Observe, and Explain) using the Liveworksheets feature. The research method was RD (Research and ...Development) with a 4-D model, namely define, design, develop, and disseminate. There were three data collection techniques in this research, namely interview, questionnaire, and N-gain from the pretest and posttest scores. The analyzed data using qualitative descriptive analysis. The results showed that (1) the average percentage of e-student worksheet feasibility obtained was 92.90% with material expert validators of 94.23%, media expert validators of 88.23%, and practitioner validators of 96.25%. Therefore, the POE-based e-student worksheet can be used with a very valid or very feasible category. (2) The percentage obtained from student responses was 85% with a very good category. (3) The N-Gain value obtained was 0.39 with a medium category. Thus, the development of e-student worksheet based on POE (Predict, Observe, and Explain) on plant tissue material for the eleventh-grade students can be used with a very feasible category.ABSTRAK: Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan lembar kerja siswa elektronik (e-student worksheet) berbasis POE (Predict, Observe, and Explain) dengan menggunakan fitur Liveworksheets. This paper presents a prototype of an electronic system for the needs of students. The objective is to develop and promote a prototype electronic student profile. The methodology for designing the ...proposed prototype includes a review and comparative analysis of existing electronic student profiles in universities from Europe, America and Asia, based on the usability and other leading features similar to the functionality of the proposed system. Advantages of university platforms regarding functionality, user interface, usability, speed of access are described. Some of the analysed systems have weaknesses and associated problems that have been avoided in the developed electronic system. A survey was also conducted among students who actively use electronic profiles for training and administrative services, and the results were integrated to add useful features to the developed system. The paper presents the main characteristics of the proposed prototype, such as speed and ease of use, and an intuitive design with easy access to the required resources. The prototype could be implemented for the needs of academic users in any educational institution.
Student philanthropy is an active teaching strategy that enables students to lead a charitable grantmaking process and, in doing so, engage in the curriculum and learn about community needs and ...nonprofit organizations. About 20 years ago, professors began using the “learning by giving” approach in face-to-face classes. Since that time, some have expanded and innovated. This study is one of the first to examine electronic student philanthropy, or “e-student philanthropy.” Specifically, it looks at “extreme” e-student philanthropy in classes in which both the instruction and the philanthropy experience are fully online (Waldner et al., 2012). This study applies a conceptual framework that recognizes students as learners, community members, and social activists (Britt, 2012), and it analyzes outcomes of e-student philanthropy in three undergraduate classes and one graduate class at a metropolitan university. Survey results indicate the philanthropy experience had positive outcomes for online students on various measures, including interest in the course, learning and applying course material, awareness of community needs, awareness of nonprofit organizations, responsibility to help others in need, and belief they can make a difference in the world.

This paper argues that problems in education are caused by non-professional ...teachers who are employed when trained teachers move in search of promotion friendly activities or financially rewarding duties. This shift of focus means that policy makers in education act without adequate professional guidance. The problems in education, therefore, result from demands made on mainstream education based on misconceptions about what education can offer.
It is argued that the implementation of e-learning in education faces the risk of developing on the basis of unproven theories. This scenario increasingly sees the replacement of formal education activities in institutions of learning with non-formal and informal education practices. Given that the contents and influences of non-formal and informal education are not under the control of the teacher, the experiences that learners bring to education settings are increasingly difficult to manage. The paper proposes that by integrating e-learning in teacher education and rewarding 'good teaching', there is a potential for a successful e-learning revolution in education.
