•Framework developed to assess supply chain sustainability for Industry 4.0 needs.•Remarkable scope for sustainable supply chain leveraging IoT exists.•IoT coupled with industry 4.0 benefits ...organizations to take informed decisions.•Industry 4.0 sets the tone for the future sustainable supply chain.
Supply Chain organizations in the present global environment operate in market that is increasingly complex and dynamic in nature. Sustainable supply chain becomes inevitable to meet the aggressive change in the customer requirements. Based on the reviews, it is revealed that manufacturing companies need to speed up in shifting the focus towards sustainability and make use of technology like ‘Internet of Things’ (IoT) to meet the organization’s goal. The objective of this research paper is to review the various aspects of SCM, ERP, IoT and Industry 4.0 and explore the potential opportunities available in IoT embedded sustainable supply chain for Industry 4.0 transformation. In this review, a comprehensive study on various factors, that affects the sustainable supply chain were analyzed and the results recorded. Based on the review, a framework for assessing the readiness of supply chain organization from various perspectives has been proposed to meet the requirements of the fourth Industrial Revolution. The conceptual framework model has been formulated from five important perspectives of supply chain management namely Business, Technology, Sustainable Development, Collaboration and Management Strategy. This study furnishes the criteria that can be assessed by companies to realize the readiness for industry 4.0 transformation.
The generalized Heronian mean and geometric Heronian mean operators provide two aggregation operators that consider the interdependent phenomena among the aggregated arguments. In this paper, the ...generalized Heronian mean operator and geometric Heronian mean operator under the q‐rung orthopair fuzzy sets is studied. First, the q‐rung orthopair fuzzy generalized Heronian mean (q‐ROFGHM) operator, q‐rung orthopair fuzzy geometric Heronian mean (q‐ROFGHM) operator, q‐rung orthopair fuzzy generalized weighted Heronian mean (q‐ROFGWHM) operator, and q‐rung orthopair fuzzy weighted geometric Heronian mean (q‐ROFWGHM) operator are proposed, and some of their desirable properties are investigated in detail. Furthermore, we extend these operators to q‐rung orthopair 2‐tuple linguistic sets (q‐RO2TLSs). Then, an approach to multiple attribute decision making based on q‐ROFGWHM (q‐ROFWGHM) operator is proposed. Finally, a practical example for enterprise resource planning system selection is given to verify the developed approach and to demonstrate its practicality and effectiveness.
Blockchain technology offers immense potential for increasing efficiency by streamlining business operations. However, blockchain implementation is disruptive and requires high capital organizational ...processes as it fundamentally re-engineers and automates business processes. By integrating blockchain with Enterprise Resource Planning systems (ERPs), organizations can enjoy the benefits of blockchain adoption with minimal disruption to their business model. The resources regarding integration of blockchain systems and ERP are scarce and dispersed as their applications are in different niches. Thus, there is a need for a study of literature that investigates blockchain and ERP integration and find its key success factors. This systematic literature review (SLR) investigates the key success factors of blockchain and ERP integration and finds the context of integration to derive meaningful insights regarding its application in different functional areas. A list of key success factors is identified. They could be broadly classified into three contexts – technological, organizational, and regulatory. Also important is the environment and sustainability of the integration. This study was able to conclude that the integration of ERP systems with blockchain will enhance the capabilities of current ERP systems by providing value propositions of the decentralized ledgers such as increased transparency, trust, and process automation.
Cloud ERP is a type of enterprise resource planning (ERP) system that runs on the vendor's cloud platform instead of an on-premises network, enabling companies to connect through the Internet. The ...goal of this study was to rank and prioritise the factors driving cloud ERP adoption by organisations and to identify the critical issues in terms of security, usability, and vendors that impact adoption of cloud ERP systems. The assessment of critical success factors (CSFs) in on-premises ERP adoption and implementation has been well documented; however, no previous research has been carried out on CSFs in cloud ERP adoption. Therefore, the contribution of this research is to provide research and practice with the identification and analysis of 16 CSFs through a systematic literature review, where 73 publications on cloud ERP adoption were assessed from a range of different conferences and journals, using inclusion and exclusion criteria. Drawing from the literature, we found security, usability, and vendors were the top three most widely cited critical issues for the adoption of cloud-based ERP; hence, the second contribution of this study was an integrative model constructed with 12 drivers based on the security, usability, and vendor characteristics that may have greater influence as the top critical issues in the adoption of cloud ERP systems. We also identified critical gaps in current research, such as the inconclusiveness of findings related to security critical issues, usability critical issues, and vendor critical issues, by highlighting the most important drivers influencing those issues in cloud ERP adoption and the lack of discussion on the nature of the criticality of those CSFs. This research will aid in the development of new strategies or the revision of existing strategies and polices aimed at effectively integrating cloud ERP into cloud computing infrastructure. It will also allow cloud ERP suppliers to determine organisations' and business owners' expectations and implement appropriate tactics. A better understanding of the CSFs will narrow the field of failure and assist practitioners and managers in increasing their chances of success.
In this paper, we investigate the multiple attribute decision making problems with Pythagorean 2-tuple linguistic information. Then, we utilize arithmetic and geometric operations to develop some ...Pythagorean 2-tuple linguistic aggregation operators. The prominent characteristic of these proposed operators are studied. Then, we have utilized these operators to develop some approaches to solve the Pythagorean 2-tuple linguistic MADM problems. Finally, a practical example for enterprise resource planning (ERP) system selection is given to verify the developed approach and to demonstrate its practicality and effectiveness.

Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)software systems integrate key business and management processes within and beyond a firm's boundary.Although the business value of ERP implementations has been ...extensively debated in trade periodicals in the form of qualitative discussion or detailed case studies, there is little large-sample statistical evidence on whether the benefits of ERP implementation exceed the costs and risks. With multiyear multi-firm ERP implementation and financial data, we find that firms that invest in ERP tend to show higher performance across a wide variety of financial metrics. Even though there is a slowdown in business performance and productivity shortly after the implementation, financial markets consistently reward the adopters with higher market valuation (as measured by Tobin's q). Due to the lack of mid- and long-term post-implementation data, future research on the long-run impact of ERP is proposed.
Industry 4.0 is a strategic initiative recently introduced by the German government. The goal of the initiative is transformation of industrial manufacturing through digitalization and exploitation ...of potentials of new technologies. An Industry 4.0 production system is thus flexible and enables individualized and customized products. The aim of this paper is to present and facilitate an understanding of Industry 4.0 concepts, its drivers, enablers, goals and limitations. Building blocks are described and smart factory concept is presented. A Reference Architecture Model RAMI4.0 and role of standardization in future implementation of Industry 4.0 concept are addressed. The current status of Industry 4.0 readiness of the German companies is presented and commented. Finally it is discussed if Industry 4.0 is really a disruptive concept or simply a natural incremental development of industrial production systems.
