Rad prikazuje odnos estetike i pedagogije razmatrajući aspekte suda ukusa u odgojno-obrazovnom kontekstu. Usmjerava se na istraživanje mogućnosti subjektivnog i objektivnog određenja suda ukusa ...kritički razmatrajući moguće problemske implikacije koje nastaju zauzimanjem takvih pozicija u nastojanju njegova određenja. Razmatranjem koncepata suda ukusa rad donosi temeljne odrednice njegova razumijevanja u okviru estetike kao filozofske discipline oslanjajući se poglavito na Humeova i Kantova djela kao izvore i temelj za promišljanje odgojne uloge u njegovom oblikovanju. Analizom ključnih odrednica suda ukusa u njihovu mišljenju pružaju se implikacije putem kojih se iznosi povezanost, relevantnost i nužnost oblikovanja suda ukusa putem odgojno-obrazovne djelatnosti. Stoga rad ukazuje na potrebu za odgojem i obrazovanjem kao neizostavnim čimbenicima koji, osim što produbljuju razumijevanje estetskih vrijednosti, imaju utjecaj na oblikovanje njegove kvalitete i profinjenosti.
The paper presents the relationship between aesthetics and pedagogy by considering aspects of the judgement of taste in the educational context. It focuses on exploring the possibility of subjective and objective determination of the judgement of taste by critically considering the possible problematic implications that arise from taking such positions in an effort of its determination. By considering the concepts of the judgement of taste, the paper presents the fundamental concepts of its understanding within aesthetics as a philosophical discipline, relying mainly on Hume’s and Kant’s works as sources and basis for considering the educational role in its figuration. The analysis of the key determinants of the judgement of taste in their works provides the basis for implications through which the connection, relevance and necessity of shaping the judgement of taste through educational activities are presented. Therefore, the paper points to the need for upbringing and education as indispensable factors that, in addition to deepening the understanding of aesthetic values, have an impact on the formation of its quality and sophistication.
This paper was created to discuss an interesting issue, dragon ornament in batik cloth, the value of its aesthetics, and its context to Javanese and Tionghoa (Chinese) culture in Indonesia. This ...paper attempts to answer several questions including what is a dragon ornament, why is a dragon ornament applied to batik cloth, how is it aesthetic, and how is the relationship between Javanese and Tionghoa dragon ornaments in Indonesia. This issue is approached using interpretation perspective, both specifically in the context of batik cloth and its aesthetics, as well as in a broader context of Javanese and Tionghoa cultures. The interesting findings show that dragon ornaments on classical batik cloth in the form of Javanese dragons and Chinese dragons have their respective characteristics. Dragon ornament is applied to batik cloth due to its visual beauty and meaning as a protector and symbol of power that is identical to the king or emperor. The two Javanese and Chinese dragon ornaments not only adorn batik cloth, but are also applied for the benefit of architecture and other art works. Specific findings indicate that Chinese dragon ornaments are more developed than Javanese dragon ornaments, especially for contemporary batik fashion. Another finding is that the Parang motif combined with the Chinese dragon looks aèng or strange but is favoured by the public. This article suggests that batik producers develop Javanese dragon motifs for contemporary batik (preservation with new functions). For researchers, in studying dragon ornaments, the use of Western and Eastern aesthetic approaches will complement each other and result in more comprehensive findings. Another phenomenon that is intriguing for future research is the presence of batik producers and online shops that offer batik products with a variety of motifs and patterns. It is an interesting phenomenon to be studied in terms of design and marketing.
Estetika pada wajah dapat menentukan persepsi pada diri sendiri dan dapat mempengaruhi kualitas hidup. Pada remaja ketertarikan fisik merupakan faktor penting yang mempengaruhi hubungan sosial. ...Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk melihat hubungan penilaian persepsi estetika dan prevelensi tingkat maloklusi pada usia 16-17 tahun di Sekolah Menengah Atas Negeri Kota Banda Aceh. Metode crosssectional yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini melibatkan 100 siswa-siswi di banda Aceh. Data yang dikumpulkan berupa umur, jenis kelamin, status maloklusi berdasarkan Dental Aesthetic Index (DAI), dan persepsi estetika oral berdasarkan Oral Aesthetic Subjective Index Scale (OASIS). Chi-Square tes digunakan untuk melihat ada tidaknya hubungan antara DAI dan OASIS. Uji Chi Square menunjukkan adanya hubungan yang signifikan antara persepsi estetika dan keadaan maloklusi p=0,037 (p0,05). Terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara penilaian persepsi estetika OASIS dan keadaan maloklusi DAI. Hal ini menunjukkan hubungan signifikan antara kondisi maloklusi dan tingkat kepedulian remaja terhadap keadaan estetikanya. Faktor usia pada penderita maloklusi tidak mempengaruhi kondisi persepsi estetika yang dimilikinya. Sebaliknya faktor jenis kelamin terhadap persepsi estetika menunjukkan remaja wanita cenderung lebih peduli terhadap keadaan gigi-giginya.

Pričujoče besedilo osvetli postmigracijsko estetiko skozi prizmo koncepta »postmigracije« in analizo avtofikcijskih pristopov, posebej pripovednega delovanja (angl. narrative agency), v romanu Zakaj ...ne pišem (2021) avtorice Dijane Matković in v izbranih vizualnih delih umetnice Anne Ehrenstein. S predlogom pojma »metapripovedne nadidentifikacije« kot kritičnega poistovetenja z od zunaj vsiljenimi kategorijami besedilo pokaže, kako avtorici skozi pripovedno delovanje kritizirata družbeno konstrukcijo »pristnosti« in s tem produkcijo družbenih razlik ter artikulirata odpor proti hegemonialni dihotomni predstavi družbe, zaradi katere nekateri vsled razreda, kraja rojstva (staršev), etnije, narodnosti, rase in spola »pripadamo«, drugi pa (p)ostanemo »tujci«.
Estetika musik Barat telah dikaji sejak ratusan tahun, yang telah dimulai sejak sebelum Masehi. Dalam perjalanan sejarahnya tersebut telah mengalami berbagai perubahan ide atau konsep tentang ...estetika musik. Hal tersebut tidak bisa dilepaskan dari roh tiap zaman di mana musik itu hidup berdampingan dengan disiplin yang lain. Ide atau konsep estetika musik selalu dipengaruhi oleh hal-hal di luar musik itu sendiri, seperti: budaya, sosial, dan politik. Para tokoh estetika musik berdebat tentang estetika musik, sesuai dengan ideologi mereka masing-masing. Perdebatan tersebut mencapai puncaknya terjadi antara Eduard Hanslick dan Richard Wagner. Keduanya berbeda ideologi: Hanslick seorang akademi dan kritikus musik; sedang Wagner seorang komposer dan juga penulis musik. Perdebatan keduanya telah menghiasi iklim intelektual dalam bidang musik sejak era Romantik.
Pendahuluan: Estetika senyum seseorang merupakan faktor pendukung sangat penting dalam penampilan wajah karena saat sedang berbicara bukan hanya tertuju pada mata tetapi pada gerakan mulut. Pasien ...dengan estetika senyum yang sempurna dinilai lebih menarik dan dapat menerima hal-hal positif serta perilaku yang lebih baik.Estetika senyum yang buruk akan mengurangi kepercayaan diri pasien dan dianggap merugikan terutama dalam hal sosial dan pekerjaan. Faktor usia, jenis kelamin, dan pendidikan dalam penilaian terhadap senyum seringkali dipengaruhi oleh persepsi individu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui persepsi estetika senyum pada mahasiswa yang belum dan sedang dalam perawatan ortodonti. Metode: Jenis penelitian adalah deskriptif observasional dengan desain cross-sectional. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis lip line, smile arc, kesimetrisan senyum, dan buccal corridor mengambil sudut pandang frontal, karena saat berbicara maupun melihat ekspresi wajah lebih cenderung dipandang frontal daripada side profile. Teknik pengambilan sampel pusposive sampling, jumlah responden adalah 36 orang dari semester II dan IV yang sesuai dengan kriteria inklusi. Responden mengisi kuesioner berisi 4 pertanyaan. Masing-masing pertanyaan menampilkan foto yang diambil dari referensi sesuai dengan teori estetika senyum.Jawaban yang dipilih responden, dihitung dengan menggunakan perhitungan Landis dan Koch. Hasil: Sebanyak 72,2% responden yang belum melakukan perawatan ortodonti memiliki persepsi estetika senyum yang baik dan sangat baik, dan 88,9% responden yang sedang melakukan perawatan ortodonti memiliki persepsi estetika senyum yang baik dan sangat baik. Simpulan: Persepsi estetika senyum pada mahasiswa yang belum dan sedang dalam perawatan ortodonti mayoritas baik dan sangat baik. Kata kunci: estetika senyum; persepsi; perawatan ortodonti ABSTRACT Introduction: The smile aesthetics is an essential supporting factor in facial appearance because, in the middle of conservation, the focus will be laid on the eyes and the lips movement. Patients with perfect smile aesthetics are considered more attractive and can accept positive things and better behaviour. Poor smile aesthetics will reduce the patient’s confidence and be detrimental, especially in social and work terms. Individual perceptions often influence age, gender, and education factors in assessing a smile. This study aims to determine the perception of smile aesthetics among dental students who have not and are in orthodontic treatment. Methods: This research was descriptive observational with a cross-sectional design and used lip line analysis, smile arc, smile symmetry, and buccal corridor with a frontal point of view because when speaking or seeing facial expressions, people tend to be viewed frontally rather than side profile. The sampling technique was purposive sampling; the number of respondents was 36 people from the second and fourth semesters according to the inclusion criteria. Respondents filled out a questionnaire containing four questions. Each question displays a photo taken from a reference following the theory of smile aesthetics. The answer chosen by the respondent was calculated using Landis and Koch calculations. Results: 72.2% of respondents who have not had orthodontic treatment have a “good” and “very good” smile aesthetic perception, and 88.9% of respondents in orthodontic treatment have a “good” and “very good” smile aesthetic perception. Conclusion: The smile aesthetic perception among dental students who have not and are in orthodontic treatment are primarily “good” and “very good”. This paper focuses on Arthur Danto’s approach to literature. One of the leading philosophers of art in the analytical philosophical tradition, Danto published on art ontology, defining art and art ...historicity as well as serving as an art critic for the magazine The Nation in the late phase of his career. The essence of Danto’s philosophy thus lies in the visual arts, and it seems he was not interested in literature from a philosophical point of view. However, following Garry L. Hagberg, I show that Danto was not only a keen reader but also reflected on literature, its specificity, and its role. In the first part of the paper, I scrutinize what — in Danto’s view — is a literary work of art, and I compare his position to the view of New Criticism. In the second part, I explore the often neglected dimension of Danto’s philosophy of art, i.e., the spectator’s emotional response to an artwork. I argue that Danto draws on works of literature to illustrate the nature of this response for the reason that they provide the basis for a deeper understanding in this context.
Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk membahas proses rekontekstualisasi estetika Hindu ‘rasa’ dalam desain arsitektural kekinian. Metodenya adalah kajian perpustakaan (library research) dengan pendekatan ...hermeneutik dalam menginterpretasikan objek penelitian berupa teks estetika Hindu, maupun komparasinya dengan keilmuan desain arsitektural. Literatur utamanya mengacu ke Kitab Natyashastra oleh Bharata Muni dan proses rekonstekstualisasinya menggunakan analogi dramaturgikal (Attoe, 1979) dan manifestasi ‘rasa’ ke seni visual dan arsitektur (Shetty dan Bhoosan, 2017) dan (Verma dan Gupta, 2015). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa estetika Hindu khususnya teori ‘rasa’ relevan dikembangkan ke dalam keilmuan desain arsitektural kekinian. Relevansi tersebut bukan semata kesesuaian istilah semata, namun juga kesesuaian dengan materi pokok kelimuan desain arsitektural seperti bentuk, penciptaan spasial, konteks arsitektural sebagai tuntutan desain arsitektural kekinian.This paper aims to discuss the process of recontextualization of Hindu aesthetics 'taste' in contemporary architectural design. The method is library research with hermeneutic approach on interpreting the Hinduism aesthetics text, as well as comparation with the science of architectural design. Its main literature refers to the Book of Natyashastra by Bharata Muni and its recontextualization process using dramaturgical analogies (Attoe, 1979) and the manifestations of the ‘rasa’ to the visual and architectural arts (Shetty and Bhoosan, 2017) and (Verma and Gupta, 2015). The results show that 'rasa' theory of Hindu aesthetics is relevant to developed into the contemporary architectural design. Relevance is not merely the conformity of the term alone, but also in conformity with the subject matter of architectural design such as science, form, spatial creation, architectural contexts as the present architectural design demands.
AbstrakArtikel ini membahas tentang perempuan Bali dalam lukisan gaya Kamasan karya Mangku Muriati. Pembahasan dalam artikel ini berpijak pada dua hal yakni aspek psikobiografi dan karya-karya Mangku ...Muriati yang didalamnya terkandung konsep dan tema-tema tentang persoalan gender. Secara biografi, pengalaman Mangku Muriati yang tumbuh dan besar dalam lingkungan seni lukis Kamasan di desanya, juga latar belakang pendidikan akademis yang diperoleh di perguruan tinggi, serta profesi kepemangkuan dan kesenimanan yang Ia lakoni memberi pengaruh pada cara pandangnya dalam memahami gender yang kemudian disampaikan dalam karyanya. Selanjutnya dalam karya-karyanya, Mangku Muriati menghadirkan perluasan tema dari tema Pewayangan menjadi tema-tema keseharian khususnya tentang perempuan Bali masa kini dan peran mereka dalam kehidupan sosial. Karya-karya Mangku Muriati mengandung pernyataan ihwal sikapnya sebagai perempuan dalam memandang persoalan gender.
