The author's version of the new linguistic episteme formation – linguistic postmodernism – in terms of synergy of philosophy, linguistic and cultural studies is presented. An attempt is made to ...substantiate the linguistic episteme as a product of the synergistic convergence of ideas of an entire era in the development of the science of language in the form of (a) a hidden and deep-seated model of thinking that forms the corresponding linguistic picture of the world; (b) a certain original strategy of scientific and cognitive activity (a peculiar set of methodological principles that the linguistic community is guided by in their research practice).
Interactions between members of human society, transmission and exchange of general information occur through communication, and here language plays the main role. In the process of verbal ...communication, the selection of language tools takes place, which allows to achieve the stated communicative tasks in a particular speech situation, subject to ethical standards of communication. The relevance of the article is justified by the increased interest of researchers in the problem of speech etiquette and attention to communication issues in modern society. The purpose of the article is to determine the main provisions related to the problem of speech etiquette. The research methods are theoretical analysis, synthesis and generalization. The authors have presented the following results: the concept of “speech ethics” has been clarified; the parameters for the selection of forms of speech etiquette for use in a specific speech situation have been determined; the relationship of the theory of speech etiquette with aspects of sociolinguistics, stylistics, the generation of texts and verbal means of communication have been traced. Conclusions: the problem of speech etiquette is wide and diverse. Speech etiquette is a collection of rules and forms. Knowing and understanding the forms of speech etiquette helps to achieve the stated communicative task. As part of the linguistic existence of speech etiquette can be seen from the point of view of various sources.
The article describes a possibility of generating train calendar text for the needs of compiling the annual timetable in the conditions of the Czech Republic. Based on the analysis of the types of ...texts of calendars that appear in various print outputs, a heuristic algorithm was designed to generate a text from a set of calendar days. The algorithm is a part of an application that also provides a tool to define the text of the calendar by using a mask of sub-periods and calendars to be displayed in them. The algorithm was tested on real data of the timetable. In most cases, the algorithm shows the same or better results than the previously used tools. In several cases, however, a better result can be obtained by the user. The described algorithm to generate the text of the calendar is a part of a program that is used for compiling the timetable for trains in the Czech Republic.
This article describes heuristic algorithm generating calendar text for various stop timetables and for usage of third parties, i. e. governments, companies, vehicle computers, clearing centers etc. ...For convenience and better user experience, the calendar text does not usually contain simple list of days, but rather variations of shorter and more meaningful texts relevant to human understanding of time intervals. The goal of the algorithm is on-line distribution of trips into all published symbols (for example the pair of symbols: workdays, weekends), and conversion of differences between trips validity and each symbol validity into a short readable text. The algorithm is using standard and user defined symbols. For the given published symbol, we find for each trip the minimal number of subintervals with similar pattern. For each subinterval, we generate calendar text with positive and negative meaning and we publish the shorter one. The algorithm was developed and tested on timetables data of several Czech cities, and currently is implemented within a software for timetabling and within several public information systems of Czech transport companies.
