This study deals with haircare, hair ornaments, hairstyles, and hairrelated rituals of the Southern Altaians (Altai Kizhi, Telengits) and their development over time. Haircare has played an important ...role in Altaian society for centuries. It has been a ritual symbol, an indicator of gender, age, marital or social status. In context, hair has played a significant cultural and social role across societies and historical periods around the world. For this reason, haircare has also been sometimes included among the so-called cultural or human universals, i.e. phenomena that are common to all known human cultures in time and space.
The source of information for this study was the authors’ own field research, relevant literature and visual sources documenting the broader context of haircare. The issue is viewed from historical and cultural perspectives, with the main focus on the current haircare of the Altaian people in connection with changes compared to the past. The study focuses on selected phenomena that proved to be the most important in the field research in terms of their existence and the role they currently play in Altaian society. It does not therefore aim to cover the full breadth of the topic, but leaves room for further research on sub-topics.

업사이클링은 폐기물의 단순한 재사용 및 재활용을 넘어 새로운 가치의 창출이라는 점에서 주목받고 있으며 쓰레기는 더 이상 폐기되고 가치가 없는 것이 아니라 용도에 따라 새롭게 혹은 그보다 더 높은 가치를 지닌 것으로 재창조되고 있다. 무책임한 소비 의식이 팽배해지고 이는 무의미한 자원의 낭비로 환경 파괴로 이어져 지구 생태계를 위협하는 심각한 수준에 ...이르렀다. 이에 따라 환경 파괴의 경각심을 바탕으로 환경과 사회를 우선시하는 개념들이 생겨났으며 그 중 업사이클은 물질적으로 풍요로운 현대 사회에서 기존의 자원을 재활용하여 이전보다 쓸모있는 제품으로 재탄생시키는 가치상향 형태의 재활용 개념으로 많은 분야에 이슈가 되고 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 환경문제에 관한 의식이 대두되고 있는 현재 업사이클 디자인의 일환으로써 업사이클 디자인 개발의 필요성을 인식하고 환경오염을 고려한 버려지는 페기물에 미적 가치와 쓰임새를 부여하여 폐모발이나 구슬, 철사 등을 업사이클링하여 헤어 장신구를 제작, 개발 하여 헤어 아트디자인에 새로운 방향성과 활성화에 기여하는데 본 연구의 목적이 있다. 본 연구는 상품 소재 선택의 폭을 넓혀 신체의 일부인 폐 모발을 사용하여 대중적이고 예술성을 부각시키기 위해 현대적이고 전통이 가미된 헤어 장신구 작품 4개를 제작하였다. 그 결과 업사이클링 헤어장신구 작품개발은 창의력과 예술성 높은 헤어장신구 디자인 개발에 다양하게 응용할 수 있으며 실용적이며 친환경적인 소재로서 폐모발의 활용도를 제시하였다. 또한 본 연구를 통해 업사이클에 관한 미용산업의 지속적인 관심과 홍보를 위한 전략이 필요하고 미용산업 종사자들에게 창의적인 헤어 장신구 디자인 개발을 위한 유용한 기초 자료가 되길 바라며 업사이클을 활용한 친환경적이고 예술성과 희소성 있는 헤어장신구의 개발 발전의 방향을 제시하는데 본 연구의 의의가 있다.
Upcycling is drawing attention in that it is the creation of new value beyond simple reuse and recycling of waste, and waste is no longer discarded and worthless, but is being recreated as new or higher value depending on its use. Irresponsible consumption consciousness prevails, leading to environmental destruction due to meaningless waste of resources, reaching a serious level that threatens the global ecosystem. As a result, the concept of prioritizing the environment and society based on the awareness of environmental destruction has emerged, and upcycle is a value-up recycling concept that recycles existing resources in a material rich modern society and is becoming an issue in many fields. Therefore, this study recognizes the necessity of upcycle design development as part of the current upcycle design, and the purpose of this study is to create and develop hair Ornaments by upcycling waste hair, beads, and wires by giving aesthetic value and use to discarded objects considering environmental pollution. In this study, four modern and traditional hair ornaments were produced to highlight the popularity and artistry of waste hair, which is part of the body, by expanding the selection of product materials. As a result, the development of upcycling hair ornament works can be applied in various ways to develop creative and artistic hair ornament designs, and the utilization of waste hair as a practical and eco-friendly material was suggested. In addition, this study is meaningful in suggesting the direction of development and development of eco-friendly, artistic and rare hair ornaments, hoping that this study will provide strategies for continuous interest and promotion of upcycle.

생활이 윤택해지고 라이프스타일이 다양해지면서 개성을 추구하고자 하는 현대인의 욕구를 충족시켜줄 수 있는 창의적인 디자인 개발이 필요한 시점이다. 이에 본 연구는 천연소재인 헤어피스를 사용하여 헤어장신구 디자인에 응용함으로써 예술적 가치를 부여할 수 있으며 아르누보 양식을 모티브로 한 예술적이고 창의적인 디자인을 제시함으로써 헤어장신구에 대한 새로운 시각을 ...제시하고 디자인의 다양성을 넓히는 데 본 연구의 목적이 있다. 연구 방법으로는 첫째, 선행연구와 전문서적을 통해 아르누보의 개념과 아르누보 양식의 배경 및 특성을 고찰한다. 둘째, 문헌연구와 선행논문을 참고로 하여 헤어장신구의 개념과 헤어피스를 활용한 헤어장신구 디자인 사례를 고찰하고자 한다. 셋째, 아르누보 양식의 특성이 잘 나타난 대표적인 작품을 모티브로 선정하여 각 작품의 형태적 특성과 색채적 특성을 분석하고 재구성함으로써 창의적인 헤어장신구 작품으로 제작하고 제작 과정과 이미지 연출에 대한 활용 방법을 제시한다. 그 결과 아르누보 예술 사조는 디자이너의 창의력과 테크닉을 요구하는 예술성 높은 헤어장신구 디자인 개발에 다양하게 응용할 수 있으며 실용적이며 친환경적인 소재로서 헤어피스 활용도를 제시하였다. 따라서 상기 연구 내용을 바탕으로 획일화된 소재와 디자인에서 벗어나 새로운 수공예 적 기법의 예술성 있고 희소성 있는 디자인에 대한 시도가 다양하게 이루어져서 개성을 추구하고자 하는 소비자들의 욕구를 충족시켜줄 수 있고 더불어 미용예술 문화 발전을 모색할 수 있을 것 이라 사료된다. 향후 연구에서는 다양한 예술 사조와 새로운 친환경적인 소재를 바탕으로 한 디자인 개발 연구를 통하여 미용예술 문화 발전 가능성을 높이는데 기여 하고자 한다.
Today, as life becomes richer and lifestyles become more diverse, it is time to develop a creative design that can satisfy the desire of modern people to pursue characteristic traits. The purpose of this study is to present a new perspective on hair ornaments and to broaden the diversity of designs by giving artistic value by applying natural material hair pieces to the design of hair ornaments, and presenting an artistic and creative design with the motif of Art Nouveau style. As for research methods, first, the concept of Art Nouveau and the background and characteristics of Art Nouveau style are considered through previous studies and specialized books. Second, by referring to literature studies and previous papers, this study attempts to review the concept of hair ornaments and examples of hair ornaments design using hair pieces. Third, by selecting a representative work showing the characteristics of Art Nouveau style as a motif, and analyzing and reconstructing the morphological and color characteristics of each work, this study produces creative hair ornaments works, and presents the production process and how to use it for image production. As a result, the art trend of Art Nouveau can be applied in various ways to the development of high artistic hair ornaments design that requires the creativity and technique of the designer, and the utility of hair pieces is presented as a practical and eco-friendly material. Therefore, based on the above research findings, by moving away from standardized materials and designs, various attempts are made on artistic and rarity designs of new handicraft techniques, which can satisfy consumers’ desire to pursue characteristic traits, and furthermore it is thought that it is possible to seek the development of beauty art culture. In future research, through design development research based on various artistic trends and new eco-friendly materials, we want to contribute to enhancing the possibility of developing beauty art culture.
21세기 소비자들은 자신의 이미지나 고차원적인 감성 욕구가 디자인에서 표현되기를 원하고 있다. 눈에 보이지 않는 다양화되고 개성화된 욕구들을 디자인 요소들과 결합시켜 독자적 가치를 지닌 차별화된 감성적 디자인 형태로 만들어 내는 능력이 디자이너에게 요구되고 있다. 헤어 영역에서 감성이 많이 요구되는 부분은 업스타일 부문으로, 주로 특별한 날 하기 때문에 ...소비자들은 업스타일 연출 시 함께 사용되는 헤어 장신구에도 상당한 가치를 부여하고 있다. 소재와 디자인 면에서 획일화된 면이 다소 많은 현 업스타일 헤어 장신구 시장에서 다양한 소재와 모티브를 활용한 창의적인 헤어 장신구 개발이 요구 된다. 이에 민들레꽃을 모티브로 헤어피스를 이용해 감성적이면서도 독창적인 헤어 장신구를 제작하여 업스타일용 헤어 장신구 디자인의 다양성을 넓이는 데 본 연구의 목적이 있다. 민들레꽃의 생태적 특징과 헤어피스를 응용한 헤어 장신구 선행사례들에 대한 이론적 고찰을 바탕으로 4가지 업스타일용 헤어 장신구를 제작하고 그 과정과 활용방법을 분석하는 방식으로 본 연구는 진행되었다. 민들레꽃을 통해 모든 자연 사물이 창작의 모티브로 사용 가능함을 재확인하고 이를 재현하는 소재로서 헤어피스의 높은 활용도를 제시하고자 하였다. 민들레꽃이 가진 봄의 상징성과 발견했을 때 경험하게 되는 소소한 삶의 행복감을 헤어 장신구로 재현해 내는 과정이 감성적 디자인을 하고자 하는 헤어 디자이너들에게 발상적 아이디어를 제공하는 계기가 되기를 기대한다.
21c Consumers want their images and high - dimensional emotional desires to be expressed in design. Designers are required to have the ability to combine invisible, diverse and individualized desires with design elements to create a differentiated emotional design with unique values. The part that requires a lot of emotion in the hair area is the up-style part which is mainly done on special occasions, so consumers are also giving important value to the hair ornaments used together in up-style presentation. In the current style hair ornaments market, which has a somewhat unified aspect in material and design, it is required to develop creative hair ornaments utilizing various materials and motifs. The purpose of this study is to broaden the diversity of hair ornament design for upstyle by making unique and emotional hair ornaments using hairpins in the motif of dandelion flower. Based on the theoretical considerations on the ecological characteristics of dandelion flowers and the precedent cases of hair ornaments applying hairpieces, this study was carried out by making four kinds of hair ornaments for up-style and analyzing the process and application method. Through the dandelion flowers, we reaffirmed that all natural objects can be used as a motif of creation, and tried to suggest high utilization of hairpieces as a material to reproduce it. I hope that the process of reproducing the symbolism of spring which dandelion flower has and the happiness of small life that we experience when discovering it, into a hair ornament, will be an opportunity to provide an idea for the hair designers who want to create the emotional design.
본 연구의 목적은 동북아시아 지역의 전통머리장식의 종류와 형태를 고찰하고, 이들의 영향을 받은 현대 머리장식의미적 특성을 고찰하는 데 있다. 연구방법은 동북아시아지역의 주요 국가인 한국, 중국, 일본의 전통복식 관련 문헌 등을 참고하여 전통머리장식의 종류와 형태에 대해 조사하고, 2005년 이후부터 2014년까지 발표된 패션 컬렉션에서 동북아시아 지역의 ...전통머리장식을 응용한 것으로 보이는 현대 머리장식 디자인을 선별 분석하였다. 동북아시아 지역의 대표 국가인 한국, 중국, 일본은 같은 한자문화권으로 역사적으로 꾸준한 교류를 해 왔으며, 이로 인해 세 나라의 머리장식은 시대별로 차이는 있지만 유사한 면도 보이고 있다. 이들 머리장식들은 형태에 따라 크게 자연스럽게 늘어뜨린 형태, 묶거나 얹은 형태, 그리고 관을 쓴 형태로 구분할 수 있다. 그리고 현대 패션에 나타난 동북아시아 전통머리장식에 나타난 미적 특성을 분석한 결과, 자연의 조형물을 장식한 스타일에서 보여지는 자연친화적인 장식미, 전통적인 형태를 현대의 조형적이면서도 아방가르드 한 스타일로 재해석한 스타일에서 보여지는 상호융화적 절충미, 그리고 단순하고 간결한 전통머리 스타일이나 장신구의 영향을 받은 현대 머리장식에서는 절제된 단순미라는 세 가지 범주로 분류되었다. 오늘날 동북아시아의 전통적인 머리장식에서 영향을 받은 현대 머리장식은 동양의 전통적 요소와 현대적 요소가 표현된 새로운 조형적 가치를 만들어내고 있으며 이는 문화적 가치와 경제적 가치를 높이는 역할을 하리라 기대한다.
The purpose of this study is to look at the traditional hair ornaments in Northeast Asia and to analyze the formative aesthetics appearing in modern hair ornaments adopting oriental formative beauty. The method of this study is to investigate the types and the shapes of the traditional hair ornaments in Northeast Asia appeared in the documents related to Korea, China, and Japan traditional costumes and etc. And the photos from the 2005-2014 fashion collections were selected to analyze the formative aesthetics in modern hair ornaments adopting the oriental formative beauty in Northeast Asia. Korea, China, and Japan are the representative country in Northeast Asia, and they are in the same Chinese culture. Historically these nations have interacted with each other constantly. The traditional hair ornaments in their country show the similar expressive characteristics although they are different depending on the times. These traditional hair ornaments are categorized into groups such as natural hair down style, capped hair style, and hair style with crown. The aesthetic types appearing in modern hair ornaments are categorized as ecological decorativeness appeared in the hair style decorated with nature objects, mutual conciliatory compromise in the reinterpreted avant-garde modern hair style from traditional hair shapes, and tempered simpleness appeared in simple hair styles influenced by simple traditional hair shapes and hair ornaments. These days modern hair ornaments adopting oriental formative beauty in traditional hair ornaments in Northeast Asia create new formative values expressing the traditional elements and modern elements, and this can be expected to play a leading role by raising the cultural and economical value.
This study analyzes expression methodology and aesthetic meanings in modern hair ornaments that adopt maximalism. Maximalism has appeared in various hair ornaments throughout history. Hair dresses ...are used for many reasons related to class, social position, religious beliefs, and occupation throughout the Eastern and Western hemispheres. A higher class and social position was often denoted by a fancier and bigger hairdress. In modern society maximalism is expressed in literature, expressionism, maxi-marketing, exaggerative advertisements, and symbolic architecture. Formative expression methodologies in modern hair ornaments that adopt maximalism are transform, overlapping & exaggeration, and mixing & edition. The aesthetic meanings of maximalism in hair ornaments are the reinterpretation of retro ornaments, the exaggeration of internal self-expression, humorous symbolic objects, and the conveyance of a social critical message. The advantages of maximalism help people communicate and co-provide an abundant life. These are expected to create significant and numerous positive impacts in society. In addition, the continued efforts on the investment in hair ornaments that express Maximalism well as a fashion trend shows that further study on the persistence, practicality and recognized design inconvenience in the aesthetic value are needed.

Some groups use a turban as an integral part of the style that is wrapped round the head in a specific way. Silver ornaments occupy an important position in the bright and colorful attire and personal adorment of Miao women`s in Guizhou. Silver horns, silver crowns, silver hats are peculiar to Miao women`s hair style. They are also indispensable hair ornaments of Miao women`s festive dress in Guizhou.
