First of all, Dr. Creese states that Balinese notions of history are different from Western ones. According to her, it would be 'untenable' to posit a conscious manipulation of the chronology of ...events from a comparison with fragmentary Dutch sources. ...even taking the 'fluidity' of the style of the Babad Dalem text into account, the inconsistencies one finds here are hardly those that one would expect in a work that is obviously intended as an idealized reference work on the past.
Since the date of the conquest by Majapahit is said in a near-contemporary source to be 1343, while the fall of the Gelgel kingdom occurred in the latter part of the seventeenth century, the ...genealogy is completely impossible, since it implies that seven kings, in five generations, ruled for a period of some 300 years! According to a Dutch source from 1714, a king of Mengwi who belonged to this kinship group claimed that his 'great-grandfather' (ancestor) had ruled Majapahit in former times (De Graaf Collection). ...it makes more sense to connect the Pasuruan war with the fighting that took place in about 1596-1600 than with the wars of 1635-47, when Mataram, rather than long-conquered Pasuruan, was the chief enemy. ...a second unsuccessful military expedition against the king of Mataram under Bekung' s nephew Di Made is mentioned in the Sedjarah Arya Tabanan (and hinted at in the Babad Dalem). According to the reports found here, which testify to a rather rudimentary knowledge of the island, the king of Bali was a very young man, and was cruel and sickly, while his aged syahbandar was the real ruler of the kingdom (Jacobs 1984:325; Jacobs 1988:35).
By reviewing the fine pottery and amphorae from the excavations carried out between 1909 and 1912 by Adolf Schulten in the camp of Renieblas V at Numantia, and adding new fragments of amphorae ...discovered in 1986, the author is able to define or confirm the termini ante quos (around the narrow margin of 133. ..130) of several forms of Italic pottery (Campanian A and B) and amphorae of the same origin or Iberian. In the context of this chronological fixation the author reconsiders the dating of the shipwrecks of Filicudi A (Liparian islands ; around 140-130 B.C.) and of Punta Scaletta (islet of Giannutri ; about 146-133).

A preliminary identification, location and assessment of known historic and architectural resources located within a 1/2 mile corridor on either side of the Kansas River and its major tributaries ...(Wakarusa, Delaware, Big Blue, Smoky Hill, Saline and Solomon Rivers; and Vermillion and Soldier creeks) is presented. A total of 29 urban zones, 244 buildings, 98 bridges, 11 dams, 3 historical markers and 34 cemeteries of known or potential historical significance were identified within the project right-of-way. Two districts and twenty six structures and sites included in the National Register of Historic Places are located within the project area. The assessment recommends appropriate mitigation if construction activities occur at or adjacent to National Register sites. Evaluation and appropriate mitigation of construction impacts on known historic sites and urban zones of potential significance presented in the study, is recommended. A windshield survey to preliminarily identify historic sites and structures in rural areas to be impacted by construction followed by selected detailed inventories and assessments is recommended.
