Celem artykułu jest ukazanie losów wojennych Stefana Csoricha, zasłużonego olimpijczyka w hokeju na lodzie. Urodził się w Nowym Sączu 25 września 1921 r. Wychowywał się w Krynicy Zdrój na ulicy ...Lipowej 422. Nazwisko (jak zapisał Stefan we wspomnieniach) zawdzięcza węgierskiemu przodkowi, który podczas zaboru austriackiego budował mosty oraz wiadukty kolejowe na terenie Galicji. Tu poznał przyszłą żonę i osiedlił się w Krynicy Zdroju. Do wybuchu II wojny światowej zdążył ukończyć miejscową szkołę podstawową, rozpocząć naukę w nowo otwartym, prywatnym gimnazjum i liceum (dra Romana Molędy). Po Mistrzostwach Świata w hokeju na lodzie w 1931 r., zorganizowanych w Krynicy, rozpoczął swoją przygodę z tą dyscypliną sportową. Świetnie zapowiadającą się karierę zawodniczą przerwała wojna. Był uczestnikiem kampanii wrześniowej 1939 r. W wyniku zawieruchy wojennej był między innymi we Francji, Szwajcarii i Anglii. Po wojnie w 1946 r. wrócił do Polski, do rodzinnego miasta. Tam kontynuował swoją dalszą karierę sportową w hokeju na lodzie. Wystąpił 52 razy w reprezentacji Polski (1946–1957). Był strzelcem 34 bramek. Uczestniczył w Mistrzostwach Świata w 1947 r. w Pradze (gdzie zdobył tytuł króla strzelców), w 1955 r. w Republice Federalnej Niemiec oraz w 1957 r. w Moskwie. Był na Igrzyskach Olimpijskich w 1948 r. w St. Moritz i w 1952 r. w Oslo. Na Igrzyska Olimpijskie w 1956 r. w Cortina dʼAmpezzo nie otrzymał paszportu z przyczyn politycznych. Zmarł 15 lipca 2008 r. i został pochowany w Krynicy Zdrój.
Zawodnicy występujący w latach międzywojennych w polskiej lidze piłkarskiej byli bardzo wszechstronni i utalentowani, dlatego odnosili sukcesy sportowe także w innych dyscyplinach sportu. Celem pracy ...była ocena skali tego zjawiska. Masowy rozwój piłki nożnej w Polsce sprawił, że brakowało utalentowanych zawodników w zmaganiach obejmujących gry sportowe, lekkoatletykę czy sporty zimowe. Wysoka sprawność piłkarzy predystynowała ich do udziału w rywalizacji sekcji klubów sportowych, innych niż futbolowe. Przedstawiono szczegółowe wykazy piłkarzy, uczestników rozgrywek ligowych w latach 1927–1939, którzy zostali medalistami mistrzostw Polski w hokeju na lodzie, lekkoatletyce, koszykówce, siatkówce i piłce ręcznej. Ponadto zaprezentowano sylwetki i dokonania najbardziej wszechstronnych zawodników.

Before the match between Czechoslovakia and Austria we can see some ice hockey functionaries posing for the camera: besides other people the President of the International Ice Hockey League, a Belgian Paul Loicq, and the Chairman of the Ice Hockey Association of the organizing country Fleischmann. The Czechoslovak team is winning the match with the score 3: 0. Then we can see ice hockey players of the second match (Switzerland and Belgium) lining up on the ice ring. Also thanks to excellent performance of the Swiss goalkeeper the match ends up wit the score 1: 1. The event is unfavourable affected by bad weather - a snowstorm. The organizers are removing snow from the ice ring. Then Austria beats Belgium with the score 2 : 0. In the following match we can see the Czechoslovak team playing against Switzerland (our team captain being Ing. Šroubek). The former Minister of Administration of Slovakia, Martin Kuča, watches the match. The Czechoslovak team is winning the match (1: 0). In the last match the Czechoslovak teams beats Belgium (6: 0) and they become the European Champions. Background: Field hockey is a team sport in which the competing teams attempt to score into the opposing team’s goal. In the attempt to score goals, players’ sprint (with possession of the ball) ...making sudden change in the direction of movement around their opponents which increases the risk of musculoskeletal injury and pain. Aim:This study documented the prevalence of hockey related musculoskeletal pain among the South African female senior national hockey team (n=30). Methods: Subjects completed a self-report questionnaire, which gathered their biographical, epidemiological and exercise history over the last 12 months. The following descriptive statistics (mode, mean, frequency, percentages) and inferential statistics (chi-square set at a probability of 0.05) were employed to analyse the data. Results:Twenty-eight (93.33%) of the cohort sustained musculoskeletal pain within the last 12 months (p< 0.001). The most prevalent anatomical sites that sustained hockey related musculoskeletal pain were; ankles (24.14%), lower back and hip (22.41%), lower leg (13.79%), knees (12.07%) and thighs (10.34%) (p< 0.01). The predisposing mechanisms of producing these hockey related musculoskeletal pain were rapid, rotational movement (43.75%), collision with players (18.75%), and being struck with the ball (12.5%) (p<0.01). Conclusion: The South African senior female hockey team experienced a high prevalence of hockey related ankle and lower back and hip musculoskeletal pain.
