Aim/Purpose: As smartphones proliferate, many different platforms begin to emerge. The challenge to developers as well as IS Information Systems educators and students is how to learn the skills to ...design and develop apps to run on cross-platforms. Background: For developers, the purpose of this paper is to describe an alternative to the complex native app development. For IS educators and students, the paper provides a feasible way to learn and develop fully functional mobile apps without technical burdens. Methodology: The methods used in the development of browser-based apps is prototyping. Our proposed approach is browser-based, supports cross-platforms, uses open-source standards, and takes advantage of "write-once-and-run-anywhere" (WORA) concept. Contribution: The paper illustrates the application of the browser-based approach to create a series of browser apps without high learning curve. Findings: The results show the potentials for using browser app approach to teach as well as to create new apps. Recommendations for Practitioners: Our proposed browser app development approach and example would be useful to mobile app developers/IS educators and non-technical students because the source code as well as documentations in this project are available for downloading. Future Research: For further work, we discuss the use of hybrid development framework to enhance browser apps.
In view of the cumbersome, inefficient and difficult statistics of interface testing under the hybrid application of enterprise-class mobile application platform (mobile application developed with a ...mixture of Native technology and Web technology), Appium automated testing technology combined with H5 test application is adopted to improve the testing work. Under the automatic test technology, the H5 test application under the mobile application platform is started by preloading the configuration parameter information, the API interface test is carried out by simulating the user's interaction scenario, the running status of the mobile application platform is monitored, and the test report is automatically generated. Compared with traditional testing methods, automatic testing technology can reduce the tester's repeated operation and reduce the tester's strength. The automatic test technology can carry out the test task and test report of multiple mobile terminals at the same time, which speeds up the test progress and has certain practical value.
Background: Agile methods are no longer restricted to small projects and co-located teams. The last decade has seen the spread of agile into large scale, distributed and regulated domains. Many case ...studies show successful agile adoption in GSD, however, taken as a whole, it remains unclear how widespread this trend is, and what form the agile adoption takes in a global software development (GSD) setting. Aims: Our objective is to gain a deeper understanding of how organisations adopt agile development methods in distributed settings. Specifically we aim to plot the current development process landscape in GSD. Method: We analyse industrial survey data from 33 different countries collected as part of the HELENA project that explored the wider use of hybrid development approaches in software development. We extract and analyse the results of 263 surveys completed by participants involved in globally distributed projects. Results: In our sample, 72% of globally distributed projects implement a mix of both agile and traditional approaches (termed `hybrid'). 25% of GSD projects are predominantly agile, with only very few (2%) opting for traditional approaches. GSD projects that used only agile methods tended to be very large. Conclusions: Globally Distributed Software Development (and project size) is not a barrier to adopting agile practices. Yet, to facilitate project coordination and general project management, many adopt traditional approaches, resulting in a hybrid approach that follows defined rules.

This article explores the potential of involving smallholder farmers in hybrid development for their low-external input farming systems. We have developed a conceptual model of the procedures, based ...on five assumptions: (a) the hybrids are bred for adaptation to local needs and preferences; (b) the dependence on and need for genetic diversity is taken into account; (c) breeders collaborate closely with farmers also in the initial stages of the breeding programme, that is, in establishing the breeding goals by identifying the desired traits and preferred local populations as (one of the) crossing parents; (d) hybrid seed production can be integrated into the farmers' local seed system; and (e) farmers and breeders can agree on intellectual property rights, access and benefit sharing in a fair and transparent way. We illustrate the procedural consequences of these assumptions with reference to the case of a participatory maize breeding programme in southwest China, from 2000 to 2012, that included both open-pollinated and hybrid maize improvement. We show how farmers' early involvement in hybrid development during the pre-breeding stage, including broadening the base populations with farmer-maintained local landraces, can support co-evolution of the genetic resources in farmers' fields.

Nowadays, The population of the world crossed the 8 billion and increasing in population is proportional to the increase in vehicular traffic on roads. This all vehicles needs to park properly in ...parking. In big housing society's, number of vehicles comes and go. Watchmen needs to open and close the gate for every time. This needs lot of man power and needs much efforts. Automatic Number Plate Recognition is very useful in parking management. Firstly the database is created consists of details of vehicle (number of vehicle) of all vehicles of particular society. This database is connected with Automatic Number Plate Recognition system. The camera is fitted at the gate of the society. When vehicle comes, the camera captures the video of 10 to 12 seconds and convert it into image at 24 fps. This image of the vehicle is processed using Matlab, Python and various searching techniques and Algorithms of Artificial Intelligence. From this process, the number of the vehicle is extracted. This extracted number is compared with database. If the number is matches with the database, the gate opens automatically and vehicle is allowed to go in society. Also it can keep log of exit time and entry time of particular vehicle. This also increase the security, as no any vehicle other than society's vehicle are allowed to go inside. This reduce lot of efforts of watchmen and Watchmen need to check only if any guest visit the society.
Whereas most research on Internetware has focused on new technologies for keeping track of a changing Internet, little attention has been paid to the software development process. A large portion of ...the software running the Internet is open source software. Open source software is developed both by volunteers and commercial companies, often jointly. Companies get involved in open source projects for commercial reasons, and bring with them a commercial software development process. Thus, it is important to understand how commercial involvement affects the software development process of open source projects. This article presents case studies of three open source application servers that are being developed jointly by a volunteer community and one primary software company. We are interested in better understanding developer behavior, specifically task distribution and performance, based on whether the developer is an external contributor, e.g., a volunteer working in their spare time, or a commercial developer from inside the primary backing company who is being paid for their time. To achieve this, we look at issue reporting as an example of commercial involvement in open source projects. In particular, we investigate the distribution of tasks among volunteers and commercial developers by studying the source of reported issues and quantify the task performance on user experience via the issue resolution speed. We construct measures based on historical records in issue tracking repositories. Our results show that, with intensified commercial involvement, the majority of issue reporting tasks would be undertaken by commercial developers, and issue resolution time would be reduced, implying a better user expe- rience. We hope our methods and results provide practical insights for designing an efficient hybrid development process in the Internetware environment.
Hydrogen energy is a clean, flexible, zero-carbon secondary energy source which can be stored and transported long distance. With the continuous increase of installed capacity proportion of renewable ...energy in the future, it can be used as a carrier to stabilize the fluctuation of renewable energy and optimize the power system operation, helping the country's clean and low-carbon energy transformation. The continuous large-scale development of renewable energy will continue to reduce the cost of green hydrogen production, and green hydrogen may become the future development trend. This paper introduces current status of China's hydrogen energy, and the main renewable energy hydrogen production technologies by wind power, PV power, biomass, etc, and analyzed the obstacles of power system that brought by the green hydrogen production, finally proposed the future development mode of the hydrogen and the power system.
Sunflower (
L.) has become the most important oil crops in Uganda. The area under production has increased dramatically since the mid 1990s. In the 1970s and 1980s, sunflower breeding research was ...based on evaluating imported hybrids. This did not show any impact in commercial production. Recent evaluation of hybrids led to the release of PAN 7351 from South Africa which is now in full production and being imported by Mukwano Seed Company. Serere Agricultural Research Institute (SAARI) received a few hybrid parental lines for hybrid development. Some bottlenecks like branching and fertility of female lines led to slow development of hybrids from these parental lines. A few crosses have been made and yields of over 2,000 kg/ha have been attained. Uganda is now in position to produce her own hybrid seed.

L.) se ha vuelto el cultivo oleaginoso más importante en Uganda. Las superficies de producción han tenido una subida dinámica, a partir de mediados de los años 90. Durante los años 70 y 80, la selección de girasol se limitaba en valoración de los híbridos importados. Ello no tenía ninguna influencia en la producción comercial. Una reciente valoración de los híbridos llevó hasta la introducción en la producción del híbrido PAN 7351 de América del Sur, que por el momento se encuentra en plena producción, y al que importa la Compañía Mukwano Seed Company. El Instituto de Investigaciones Agrícolas en Serere (SAARI), obtuvo varias líneas parentales para el desarrollo de los híbridos. Las dificultades como ramificación y fertilidad de las líneas femeninas, han condicionado un desarrollo lento de los híbridos de esas líneas parentales. No obstante, fueron creados varios cruzamientos y se obtuvieron rendimientos por encima de 2.000 kg/ha.

Au cours des années 70 et 80, la sélection du tournesol se limitait à l’évaluation d’hybrides importés. Ceci n’avait aucun effet sur la production commerciale. Une évaluation récente des hybrides a conduit à la production de l’hybride PAN 7351 d’Afrique du Sud qui se trouve maintenant en pleine production et est importé par la firme Mukwano Seed Company. L’institut de recherches en agronomie de Serere a reçu quelques lignées parentales pour le développement d’hybrides. Des difficultés comme la ramification et la fertilité des lignées femelles ont provoqué la lenteur du développement des hybrides de ces lignées parentales. Cependant, quelques croisements ont tout de même été faits et des rendements de plus de 2,000 kg/ha ont été atteints. L’Ouganda peut maintenant produire sa propre semence hybride.
In response to the issue that large drilling areas are usually located in remote regions with inconvenient transportation and communication conditions, this paper discusses the development of a ...cross-platform well site integrated monitoring and management system based on HTML5 that is supported by video transmission technology, bidirectional data transmission technology and MUI hybrid development mode. This system integrates several important functions such as real-time drilling data recording, remote video monitoring, work report management and collaborative office, which realizes the comprehensive display and application of data acquisition, remote monitoring, remote office and daily supervision. Moreover, it provides efficient information support for drilling project management and decision-making. The client side of the system adopts the MUI mobile development framework based on HTML5 which supports cross-platform use of APP and solves the problems of long development cycles and high costs.
