In this research, microblasting cleaning technique with powdered cellulose has been applied to inked areas of intaglio prints. Taking as starting-point the previous results obtained in cellulosic ...supports, different cleaning tests were conducted on four prints following the new approach and results were compared to those obtained with dry cleaning with erasers. In order to assess potential changes of surface texture or colour, the documents were examined with optical and 3D stereomicroscopy, SEM and spectrophotometry. The results allow the conclusion that microblasting with powdered cellulose could remove surface dirt or grime on intaglio prints without entailing visible changes to the surface properties of treated supports.
Due to high pressure during the printing nip (up to 1000 kN/m) intaglio printing seals the banknote substrate structure both by pressing and by ink penetration into the paper. This effect decreases ...banknotes soiling and increases their strength resulting in durability increase. Durability characteristics of the experimental samples of banknotes different by intaglio printing parameters (single side intaglio printing with low, medium and high pressure of printing nip as well as double side intaglio printing) were analyzed. On basis of utility functions obtained for every alternative (mode of intaglio printing) it was concluded that samples printed under medium pressure of printing nip during double side intaglio printing are the most durable by the totality of all the deterioration characteristics. Thus double side intaglio printing makes it possible to increase banknotes durability. Todel dvipuse giliaspaude sudaro galimybe padidinti banknotu patvaruma.

A special category of brooches present in the Sarmatian graves of the Carpathian Basin is represented by disc brooches made of silver or bronze plate with central anthropomorphic depiction glass ...intaglios. They were found in 11 burial assemblages, together with the fashion brought by new ethnic groups arriving towards the end of the 3rd c. AD in the Great Hungarian Plain. Disc brooches with central glass intaglios are rare in Antiquity. They appear exclusively only in the German and Sarmatian Barbaricum (from the South and Central Hungarian Plain). Their bearers were children and women, especially the rich Sarmatian women, during the second half/end of the 3rd c. – early-4th c. AD (stages C2-C3 in the Central European chronology).
In this paper, a method to reduce the contact resistance of lateral thermosonic bonding with an anisotropic conductive film (ACF) is proposed. Despite the various advantages of the ACF-based bonding ...process, it suffers from higher contact resistance between a chip and a substrate, which increases the power consumption and decreases the reliability. The contact resistance largely relies on the conductive particle density. However, in the thermosonic process, a large portion of conductive particles flow out along with the adhesives at the reflow state. To tackle this issue, an intaglio-shaped bump is newly proposed. Thanks to the proposed bump, more conductive particles remain inside the intaglio shape after the reflow state, which results in increment of the conductive particles' density. Through the experiments with a commercialized ACF, it will be shown that the proposed intaglio-shaped bump does increase the conductive particle density of the lateral thermosonic bonding process.
A gravure offset printing process has been developed for Ag-filled polymer conductor ink. Pad printing and roller type printing have been used. Curing and electrical properties have been studied. A ...roller type of gravure offset printing has been used to evaluate the printing process and pad printing to print on the non-planar substrates. Based on differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and resistivity measurements during ink curing, it was found that the ink had an optimum curing temperature of 140
°C. Square resistance of 300 and 150
μm wide lines can be as low as 20 and 28
mΩ/sq., respectively, for 7–8.5
μm thick line. The minimum line width was 70
μm. This minimum line width can be reduced with different ink solvents, but in this case the line thickness suffers and the square resistance increases, respectively.
