Using principles underlying the social constructivist approach, we redesigned an undergraduate course on social problems, seeking to employ three learning activities (online assignments and ...small-group and class discussions) to facilitate knowledge construction by students and promote their intellectual capabilities and critical-thinking skills. We collected qualitative and quantitative data from students enrolled in the redesigned, hybrid course (it comprised class meetings on campus plus online work), two sections of which were taught. Students in both sections completed two feedback evaluation surveys about satisfaction and learning; this survey data comprised narrative comments completed across the fall and spring semesters of 2010-2011. We examined the data, seeking social processes linking the three learning activities to student satisfaction and to student learning. Results showed a link between student satisfaction and student learning generated from, notably, in-class small-group and class discussions. Some implications for pedagogy are outlined.
In view of the fact that the traditional classroom teaching interaction is inactive and less effective, in which the students' initiative is not fully involved, accordingly we have to construct a ...more vivid, robust, and effective teaching mode to meet the requirements of the huge demands of qualified higher education reform in the Internet era. In this paper, we proposed a new internet based interactive classroom teaching pattern with the platform called UMU. With the help of UMU, we can design various kinds of interaction actions which can awake the enthusiasm and eagerness of the students to make an inquiry learning effectively. For example, we can initiate a questionnaires, or organize some quiz, or take some exercises photographs accomplished by students, or distribute assignments, or launch a collaborative work, and so on. Students can response this actions with their mobile phones within the classroom or not. We also give a brief talk about how the UMU can support the engineering education accreditation. In the end, we made a performance promotion evaluation under the course "compiler principle" to show the validity of our proposed newly teaching mode.
The education sector has a vital role in the development of a country. Therefore, new technologies are introducing in this sector to make robust teaching and learning paradigms. Internet of Things ...(IoT)- a new technology becoming popular in the teaching method and it helps to make the classroom more interactive which is most important to establish robust learning and teaching process. In this paper, we develop applications for voice-enabled IoT device which can interact with teachers and students on textbook contexts. Our proposed model uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) to know users voice phrases and Machine Learning (ML) technology to learn new voice phrases. We present two case studies followed by National Textbook and Curriculum of Bangladesh to verify our proposed model. We simulate our applications with real voice data to verify it. In the last section, we discuss that how to improve current IoT model in the future with other databases for sensible results.
Classroom interaction is an important part of teaching which can greatly enhance the learning performance of students. However, the following problems still exist in conducting interactive teaching ...in conventional classroom, such as limited interaction format, lack of enthusiasm and unequal interaction frequency. As a widely adopted interactive tool in online video websites, the bullet screen is instant and convenient with high interactivity, which is extremely popular among the young generation such as university undergraduate students. In this paper, a software platform is designed to collect the bullet screen messages generated by students in classroom and display them instantly together with teaching materials such as lecture slides via projector, which can be later collected for teaching and learning performance analysis. This paper aims to propose a possible solution of the mentioned problems to construct a convenient and efficient interactive classroom to improve the teaching quality.
Videoconferencing is the best-known form of teleconferencing. It allows concwrent transmission of images and soundvia computer network for the communication of several personsphysically distant in ...real time. The computers are networkedand additionally equipped with camera, microphone, voice and video card, and adequate programmes. Video signalsare digitized and compressed before network transmission. Studentsand lecturers may lead discussions and exchange documentsand other malelials via the computer.

This paper analyzes some problems in the teaching process of "Information Theory and Coding". According to the characteristics of the course and the teaching process, a new teaching method is ...proposed, which focuses on cultivating students' multi-faceted ability. This article explores new teaching methods on the basis of theoretical teaching, focusing on cultivating students' multi-faceted abilities. This teaching method, through the practice and self-learning process, takes the design of the coding and decoding structure of LDPC code as an example, combines theory with practice, stimulates students' self-learning consciousness, deepens theoretical understanding, and cultivates compound talents.

This research paper accentuates on the technologies utilized as a part of the virtual classroom (VCR) and favourable circumstances of VCR over conventional classroom framework. This paper centres ...around Interactive learning Methodologies utilizing HTML5 and another web-based tool to draw in the student in assembling exercises and individual assignments. This examination paper additionally gives a short perspective of hindrances and conceivable outcomes for the appropriation of VCR. Meanwhile, likewise decides the requests of showing techniques, programs, material, video learning and online free courses by means of various scholastic sites.
Virtual Classroom is an advance learning tools that allows students to communicate with instructors in real-time over the network. There are various benefits using virtual classroom such as optimized ...cost, distance learning, and flexibility which able to access material anytime anywhere. However the difficulty of interaction between instructor and student is a clear disadvantage of current online learning system. In this paper, we present new approach of online learning called web-based interactive virtual classroom that allow students and instructors to communicate with multiple face-to-face video conferences. Equipped with various systems that general virtual classroom must have including presentation tools, online whiteboard, real-time video and screen sharing. The application also provides more with outstanding interactive features such as quiz system, group system and can be extendable. Experimental results reveal our software work perfectly and provide enough functionality. The integration between improved e-learning and virtual classroom is highly introduced in our final outcome.
Virtual classroom teaching or E-learning is one of the best solutions for erasing the curse of the illiteracy of a large population in many developing countries. Most of the E-learning or virtual ...classroom teaching tools demand high requirement of system resources because live video streaming consumes high bandwidth resulting huge costs. The major challenge of the virtual classroom teaching environment is to design a low cost low bandwidth application. In this paper we propose an internet based solution where only voice is streamed over the network using UDP protocol. Teacher and students establish a TCP connection to transfer the visual aid which is encoded properly to protect Intellectual property. The teacher solely controls the visual aids. Control events of the visual aids are captured by the application and very small sized corresponding messages are transferred to all the students where by recognizing the messages appropriate events are invoked to reflect the same event as the teacher end. So the major traffic for this application is voice packets and some small sized control messages which require considerably low bandwidth.
