This article presents the Açaizal village of the Munduruku indigenous people, contextualizing their reality in the full occupation of the region by soy and corn planters in the form of monocultures ...that, besidesimpoverishing the local biodiversity, they contribute greatly to the pollution of essential natural resources for the local traditional populations. Based on reports of the residents of Açaizal village, we weave the meanings of the violation of fundamental rights of the community, by the State, which, in addition to omitting itself in that reality, contributes in several ways to the rights to an indigenous school education are not fully established. In 100ARTIGOthis context there is also a violation of environmental rights, which we can treat here as environmental racism brought by immigrants who destroy the environment and the resources necessary for the well-being of the people of Açaizal village. The fight for school education in the community dates back to the 1970s, when they managed to materialize the first school. In the last two decades of the 21st century, aggression against indigenous people and their territories has caused great material and cultural losses to the Munduruku people of Aldeia Açaizal. Our study denounces the reality of oppression in which these people live, seeks to help make their struggles visible and discusses how we can overcome some of these difficulties. Despite still having a great fight ahead, they claim a condition of well-being in that territory, with quality school education and a sustainable environment.
It is a great pleasure for Intercultural Pragmatics to introduce our first “Thematic Issue: Pragmatics and Philosophy” (TIPP). We sincerely hope that many more TIPP issues will come. The journal has ...always tried to do something new, unusual, or unique. TIPP is the result of these endeavors. Given the popularity of the journal and the growing number of submissions in philosophical and linguistic pragmatics, the publisher De Gruyter Mouton, by the recommendation of the Editor-in-Chief, has agreed to regularly publish “Thematic Issue: Pragmatics and Philosophy” (TIPP).
