This article deals with practical examples of the applications of modern tachymeters in the determination of the nonverticality of high industrial chimneys, as an alternative to the classic methods. ...The possibility of a reflectorless measuring mode to determine the point cloud at the chimney's circumference is described. Using these points, we are able to model the chimney as a mathematically correct body using the least squares adjustment method. Subsequently, the unknown nonverticality of the chimney is determined as the deviation of the primary axis of the modelled body from the vertical.
The regular measurements of Triglav glacier on yearly basis began in 1946. At first the measurements involved hand measurements of glacier retreat from permanently marked points on rocks around ...theglacier. First tahimetric measurements were performed in year 1952. These measurements were used for map drawing and measurement of before mentioned permanently marked points. The next tahimetricmeasurements followed in 1995. With the year 1999 regular photogrammetric measurements of Triglav glacier began on biannual basis, with different geodetic measurements of control points included. The article describes a history of geodetic field-work on Triglav glacier. Mainly geodetic measurements were performed in local coordinate system, which should be transformed in global coordinate system to enable a comparison of different time cross-section.
In the article, the improvement of the levelling network of Slovenia is presented. Analyses of the state of benchmarks are made (number of benchmarks, applicability, art of stabilizations, time of ...benchmark stabilization). The analysis of the problems and deviations that have appeared in the levelling network is shown in detail. Described are also the procedures of the improvement, recent calculations and the condition of the levelling network after the calculation.
The article describes the theoretical point of view of the GPS-broadcast ephemerides application. Beside the raw GPS observations, any kind of GPS ephemerides represents indispensable data in the GPS ...processing engine. Broadcast ephemerides have been produced in the central Control Station in Colorado Springs and interposed from GPS satellites to the users as part of the GPS navigation message. The article focuses on the theoretical broadcast-ephemeris-data treatment for computing the position of a GPS satellite. The reason for the orbit-problem explanation is that anyone who uses any GPS measurement methods should be aware of the advantages and disadvantages of the ephemeris data. Thus, numerical examples of GPS-satellite position computation for 4-hour time span from broadcast ephemerides and deviations of the results regarding the IGS ultra-rapid and IGS final precise ephemerides are presented in the article.
