This translation of the book ('The Historical Roots of Magic Tale') written by one of the most prominent Russian folklorists of the 20th century Vladimir Yakovlevich Propp, presents one more ...classical work of anthropological and folkloristical science to Slovenian researchers. The theoretical starting-points which Propp concived in his book “Morphology of the Folktale” was in this work projected on concrete material – on Russian and European folktales. By comparing folktale motifs with actual historical and anthropological sources he substantiated his structuralistical and ritualistical theoties in folk narrative research and folkloristics.
Sodobna dramatika na Slovenskem se po izteku postmodernizma obrača spet k tradiciji, vendar jo upošteva na nov in svež način. Z ene strani gre za vračanje k dramskim zvrstem, z druge pa k ponovnemu ...razumevanju protagonistov kot enovitih subjektov. Kot paradigma za analizo služi 'M te ubu! Z. Hočevarja, ki uporablja tako formalne kot vsebinske novosti in jih med seboj še kombinira. Gre za umetnost, ki sodobnemu človeku spet drži zrcalo, v katerem se ta lahko ugleda v svoji celovitosti. Na tej podlagi je za novo usmeritev slovenske dramatike mogoče predlagati poimenovanje "meta-romantika."
Using the approaches of semiotics and text linguistics, Žerjal-Pavlin’s monograph deals with Slovenian lyrical cycles from romanticism to postmodernism. They are understood as secondary texts ...composed of primary texts with the intention of expanding the horizons of the textual world and, within them, further intertextually supplementing the meanings of individual texts, thereby generating a new semantic potential of the cyclic whole. Due to the intersubjectivity of textual criteria and dynamic conventions of the literary system, the lyrical cycle cannot be defined with precision. Several variables are in play: intra- and intertextual coherence, the title and the outer form, and literary conventions (such as poetry collections). Two types of the cyclic composition are distinguished: the syntagmatic and paradigmatic, the former tending towards the epical. In the first variety, the elements are arranged either in a narrative manner or they treat the theme thorugh causal relationships between the poems. The cycles of the paradigmatic type use variation to express the same theme or motive in different perspectives or contexts. The monograph also addresses problems in distinguishing the lyric cycle from the lyric poem, the sonnet wreath, and similar supra-textual compositions.
Članek se kritično opredeljuje do angloameriške rabe pojma short story kot zbirnega pojma za celotno področje kratke proze. Ob delnem opiranju na nemško literarno vedo, ki skuša jasno razločevati med ...novelo in kratko zgodbo, skuša pokazati, da se v območju tega, kar zajema ameriški pojem short story, oblikuje vsaj dvoje, morda pa celo troje vrst z različno formalno strukturo, organizacijo pripovedi, idejno podlago in pragmatično pobudo.
Razprava se posveča problematiki, ki je v raziskovanju postmodernizma ostajaladoslej ob strani: katere literarne vrste so v središču postmodernistične literature - ne le svetovne, ampak tudi ...slovenske; katerim zvrstem in oblikam - lirskim, pripovednim ali dramskim - je postmodernizem najizraziteje vtisnil svoj posebni pečat; in katere tipe literarnega ustvarjanja - ideološke, duhovno-estetske, nacionalne - je mogoče odkriti znotraj postmodernizma s pomočjo veljavnih, v literarni zgodovini preskušenih modelov.
Razprava raziskuje možnosti za sodobno opredelitev komedije, njene posebne strukture in komičnosti. Izhaja iz teoretskih nastavkov v Aristotelovi Poetikiin Heglovi Estetiki, jih kritično pretresa, ...nato pa sistematizira s pomočjo modernih pojmov legalnost in legitimnost, iz katerih naj se pojasni bistvo komičnega konflikta. Tako dobljeni model komedijske strukture primerja s sestavo tragedije. Njegovo veljavnost preverja na reprezentativnih besedilih komične dramatike od Aristofana in Plavta do Gogolja, Cankarja in Ionesca.
