Analyze the measurement invariance and the factor structure of the Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9) in the Peruvian population.
Secondary data analysis performed using cross-sectional data from ...the Health Questionnaire of the Demographic and Health Survey in Peru. Variables of interest were the PHQ-9 and demographic characteristics (sex, age group, level of education, socioeconomic status, marital status, and area of residence). Factor structure was evaluated by standard confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), and measurement invariance by multi-group CFA, using standard goodness-of-fit indices criteria for interpreting results from both CFAs. Analysis of the internal consistency (α and ω) was also pursued.
Data from 30,449 study participants were analyzed, 56.7% were women, average age was 40.5 years (standard deviation (SD) = 16.3), 65.9% lived in urban areas, 74.6% were married, and had 9 years of education on average (SD = 4.6). From standard CFA, a one-dimensional model presented the best fit (CFI = 0.936; RMSEA = 0.089; SRMR = 0.039). From multi-group CFA, all progressively restricted models had ΔCFI<0.01 across almost all groups by demographic characteristics. PHQ-9 reliability was optimal (α = ω = 0.87).
The evidence presents support for the one-dimensional model and measurement invariance of the PHQ-9 measure, allowing for reliable comparisons between sex, age groups, education level, socioeconomic status, marital status, and residence area, and recommends its use within the Peruvian population.

Aim: We aimed to investigate the effect of fear of COVID-19 experienced by married individuals living in Türkiye on marital adjustment.
Methods: A cross-sectional study design was used. Research data ...were collected between April 10 and 24, 2021, using the nonprobability snowball sampling technique. An online questionnaire that consisted of a participant information form, the Fear of COVID-19 Scale, and the Marital Adjustment Scale was applied to the participants via social media.
Results: A total of 503 married individuals participated in the study. We found that the majority of the participants had negative changes in their feelings, thoughts, social lives, plans, and friend and work relationships during the pandemic process. According to the results of the regression analysis, the fear of COVID-19 explained 32.6% of the marital adjustment score of the participants.
Conclusion: In stressful life events such as pandemics, it is necessary to plan appropriate interventions to protect married individuals’ mental health and marital adjustment.
Keywords: COVID-19, fear, marital status, adjustments
In accordance with the similarity attraction paradigm, this paper investigates when and how proactive employees can be rated as proactive performers by proposing supervisor-subordinate marital status ...similarity as a relational moderator and leader-member exchange as the mediator. It therefore advances understanding of performance evaluation of proactive employees. Data from a sample of 471 Chinese employees and their 161 supervisors are used to examine the models hypothesized. The results show that LMX mediates the interaction effect between a proactive personality and supervisor-subordinate marital status similarity on supervisors' evaluations of proactive performance. When proactive employees and their supervisors have similar (dissimilar) marital status, the indirect relationship between proactive personality and supervisor-rated proactive performance via LMX is stronger (weaker). Theoretical and practical implications are discussed.
Background
In nonmetastatic pelvic liposarcoma patients, it is unknown whether married status is associated with better cancer‐control outcome defined as cancer‐specific mortality (CSM). We addressed ...this knowledge gap and hypothesized that married status is associated with lower CSM rates in both male and female patients.
Methods
Within the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results database (2000−2020), nonmetastatic pelvic liposarcoma patients were identified. Kaplan–Meier plots and univariable and multivariable Cox regression models (CRMs) predicting CSM according to marital status were used in the overall cohort and in male and female subgroups.
Results
Of 1078 liposarcoma patients, 764 (71%) were male and 314 (29%) female. Of 764 male patients, 542 (71%) were married. Conversely, of 314 female patients, 192 (61%) were married. In the overall cohort, 5‐year cancer‐specific mortality‐free survival (CSM‐FS) rates were 89% for married versus 83% for unmarried patients (Δ = 6%). In multivariable CRMs, married status did not independently predict lower CSM (hazard ratio HR: 0.74, p = 0.06). In males, 5‐year CSM‐FS rates were 89% for married versus 86% for unmarried patients (Δ = 3%). In multivariable CRMs, married status did not independently predict lower CSM (HR: 0.85, p = 0.4). In females, 5‐year CSM‐FS rates were 88% for married versus 79% for unmarried patients (Δ = 9%). In multivariable CRMs, married status independently predicted lower CSM (HR: 0.58, p = 0.03).
Conclusions
In nonmetastatic pelvic liposarcoma patients, married status independently predicted lower CSM only in female patients. In consequence, unmarried female patients should ideally require more assistance and more frequent follow‐up than their married counterparts.

Objectives-This report presents 2019 data on U.S. births according to a wide variety of characteristics. Trends in fertility patterns and maternal and infant characteristics are described and ...interpreted. Methods-Descriptive tabulations of data reported on the birth certificates of the 3.75 million births that occurred in 2019 are presented. Data are presented for maternal age, livebirth order, race and Hispanic origin, marital status, tobacco use, prenatal care, source of payment for the delivery, method of delivery, gestational age, birthweight, and plurality. Selected data by mother's state of residence and birth rates by age are also shown. Trend data for 2010 through 2019 are presented for selected items. Trend data by race and Hispanic origin are shown for 2016-2019. Results-A total of 3,747,540 births were registered in the United States in 2019, down 1% from 2018. The general fertility rate declined from 2018 to 58.3 births per 1,000 women aged 15-44 in 2019. The birth rate for females aged 15-19 fell 4% between 2018 and 2019. Birth rates declined for women aged 20-34 and increased for women aged 35-44 for 2018-2019. The total fertility rate declined to 1,706.0 births per 1,000 women in 2019. Birth rates declined for both married and unmarried women from 2018 to 2019. The percentage of women who began prenatal care in the first trimester of pregnancy rose to 77.6% in 2019; the percentage of all women who smoked during pregnancy declined to 6.0%. The cesarean delivery rate decreased to 31.7% in 2019 (Figure 1). Medicaid was the source of payment for 42.1% of all births in 2019. The preterm birth rate rose for the fifth straight year to 10.23% in 2019; the rate of low birthweight was essentially unchanged from 2018 at 8.31%. Twin and triplet and higher-order multiple birth rates both declined in 2019 compared with 2018.
Purpose
Marital status has been demonstrated as an independent prognostic factor in many cancer types. The impact of marital status on non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) survival has not been ...assessed at the population level. Here, we used the surveillance, epidemiology and end results (SEER) database, a US national cancer registry, to address this issue.
Methods
All patients diagnosed with NSCLC from 2004 to 2009 were identified in the SEER database (version 8.3.2, updated at April 14, 2016). Those with incomplete clinicopathological information were excluded. The tumor, node, metastasis (TNM) staging was based on the criteria of the American Joint Committee on Cancer (AJCC) 6th edition. We used propensity-score matching analysis to balance baseline characteristics between the patients who were married and those who were not married. The impact of marital status on cancer-specific survival was analyzed with Cox proportional-hazards regression.
Result
A total of 72, 984 NSCLC patients (41, 095 married patients, 56.3%) were enrolled in this study. After propensity-score matching, 25, 617 patients in the married group were 1:1 matched with patients in the unmarried group. Being unmarried was found to be associated with significantly decreased cancer-specific survival (hazard ratio (HR): 1.142, 95% CI: 1.119–1.166,
p
< 0.001). Among the unmarried group, patients who were single had worse cancer-specific survival (median survival 12 months, 95% CI: 11.37–12.63 months) than those who were divorced (median survival 15 months, 95% CI: 14.24–15.76 months,
p
< 0.001) or widowed (median survival 15 months, 95% CI: 14.25–15.76 months,
p
< 0.001).
Conclusion
This study shows that marital status is an independent prognostic factor for cancer-specific survival in NSCLC patients. Patients who were married had better cancer-specific survival compared to the unmarried ones.
This study aims to understand the transmission of culture and values through artistic activities, such as dance. To this end, different variables such as marital and religious status are considered, ...as they may influence people’s behaviour and participation in this activity. In this quantitative study, a sample of 440 individuals was collected using a questionnaire. The sampling was non probabilistic and causal. An ANOVA test was carried out to check for significant differences between the items when analysing dance as a tool in sociocultural intervention. It was found that dance is a mechanism that serves to transmit culture and promote socio-cultural values, especially in multicultural contexts, where variables such as religion and marital status were found to be significant in this activity.
